Although this positive review may be one of many, we found the ambience of Chetwyn Farms to be wonderfully distinctive. As 3 senior couples, the layout and amenities of the house offered just the right balance of privacy and gathering space. We were also able to easily explore and enjoy the surrounding area. The alpacas (and the other animals) along with Ted's masterful and entertaining ability to acquaint us with their stories and personalities, were an absolute delight. We all left grateful not only for the time spent together in such a lovely setting but to Ted and Shauna for creating and sharing it.

Perfect setting in PEC

Our week-long stay was a relaxing and immensely pleasurable experience. Short walking distances to several wineries was a nice bonus as was having the kids help with bringing the Al Pacas in during the evenings. I would highly recommend staying here.

We all very much enjoyed a beautiful stay at the farm. A delicious cake and bottle of wine were awaiting with welcoming words from our hosts. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and very clean. Having the animals so close is delightful and our hosts never faltered to answered our many questions about them. We would love to visit again.

Beautiful Farm in Bucolic Setting

Very pleasant stay. Relaxing atmosphere. Charming and comfortable old house. A bit away from everything, but still close enough that this is not an issue. In the middle of wine country, perfect for exploring wineries or bike riding. Children (and adults!) loved the heard of pretty alpacas and the three horses. Would come again.

Our family of four with two young kids were thrilled with our stay at Chetwyn Farms. The country house was beautiful and full of character. We were a short drive from Sandbanks and North Beach Provincial Parks, and Wellington and Picton for ice cream, shopping, pottery painting, and great restaurants. Multiple wineries on the same road as the property within walking or cycling distance. Ted was a wonderful host. Our 8 year old wanted to participate in the farm chores twice a day and he and their morning farm helper actively engaged her as much as possible in caring for the alpacas and horses. There was an issue with our fridge on the first day and Ted put in a service call right away and the issue was resolved within a few hours. Ted was also very helpful in terms of recommendations about local restaurants and wineries to visit.We had a serene and fun-filled week away from the city, and would recommend a stay at this property without hesitation!

Relaxing Family Retreat

This property was perfect for our family get away with our adult children and their significant others. The owners were very responsive and friendly. The alpacas were interesting to watch. And we really enjoyed watching them in the morning while we had our coffee in the sun room. The cottage was very clean, spacious and well decorated and had everything we needed. The kitchen was amazing and made it easy to prep for meals and the BBQ was conveniently located outside the door. Everyone enjoyed their time at the cottage and we were especially pleased to see it was a short walk to 3 nearby wineries. We will definitely book again.

“The Cottage” was the perfect “home away from home”. We stayed for several days to attend our daughter’s wedding. Well-appointed with everything one would need, Beautifully curated, clean, quiet and excellent location. The Shed is a cute little shop with a great selection of gifts. Ted and Shauna are wonderful and thoughtful hosts sharing recommendations and ideas for our stay. We even had a tour of their farm, met the Alpacas, 10/10!!

Ted was the perfect host. The house itself was beautiful and having the alpacas nearby was a treat. The house had great amenities and was about a 10-20-minute drive from everything we wanted to do. Any questions we had were answered very rapidly by our host.
