Paradise in Puglia
Our five days at this HomeAway rental were divine. It is in a fairly secluded location between Locorotondo and Alberobello which suited us perfectly. We like staying in the countryside where there is ample parking and privacy. This trulli enclave is at the end of a narrow lane near SP58. The property manager, Paola, guided us to the estate, which includes an olive grove, large private swimming pool, hot tub, multiple patios, garden landscaping, roof-top views of the surrounding countryside, and a workout room, all secured behind an electric gate. Paola was tremendously helpful, arranging bicycle rentals and winery visits for us. We couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of the trulli restoration and the artfully decorated living spaces. Everything you possibly could need has been provided. We especially enjoyed being able to use the fireplace, as our stay at the end of March saw the evening temperatures cool off still. We shared a bottle of wine with Franco, who undertook the renovations of these ancient buildings, on the final evening of our stay, We enjoyed meeting him and learning about this project, and discussing the world we all share.
Two couples on a week's holiday
We stayed in the property in late September and were delighted with the villa. The furnishings were beautiful, even better than expected and the gardens and pool area were a delight. The villa was fully equiped with eveything we needed for our stay, and Paola, the agent , was always happy to answer our enquires and give us advice on the region.
Paola was also able to arrange a cookery lesson at the villa for the four of us with Rosa demonstrating a range of dishes typical to the area. Also, there are plenty of restaurants in the area creating wonderful regional specIalties from locally sourced products.
However, anybody staying at the villa should realise it is vital to have a car as the nearest town is at least four Kms away from the villa.
The villa, in our opinion is most suited to adults rather than families due to its location.
This trulli house was awesome and truly enchanting. I have travelled a lot in the past decade and rarely give out reviews, either good or bad. But this place is certainly at the top of my list, so I felt compelled to tell others. I didn't want to leave. The house was very clean and furnished very nicely with some unique decorations. It was such a lovely place that we had trouble leaving each day. We sat outside on the patio in the mornings each day and took in all of the wonderful landscaping. A lot of the flowers and trees were blooming.
The photos in the VRBO listing are very accurate and have not been taken to make the house look better than it is. This is the real deal.
Franco, the owner, has done an absolute wonderful job in restoring this complex of trulli homes. I was so glad he was there one day to tell us about his efforts. Kudos to him for doing so. It shows that he is proud of his property. One day we went to Bari, and Franco, who also lives there, suggested a wonderful restaurant that served typical food of the region.
Paola was a gracious property manager, giving us a detailed tour of the house and the grounds. She even suggested places to eat. She was very accessible via WhatsApp if we had questions, and she responded quickly.
I slept in the adjoining room, which had a bathroom, a microwave and little refrigerator. It was nice to have my own separate place, while my cousin slept in the bedroom of the main house. My only issue, if there is one, is that I had to walk outside to go to the main house, where the kitchen and dining room was. Minor issue.
The complex has a swimming pool and hot tub, but we didn't have time to use either (and it was still a little too cold to be in the swimming pool). But I could see guests spending time using both.
Kudos to this property. I highly recommend it.
Beautiful and relaxing- a real Valle d'Itria experience!
The property is wonderful and the Quercia is a spectacular trulli residence- Franco has created a true unique holiday residence with the restored and renovated Trullis and beautiful furniture and decor from his world travels- he is a true man of the world (with his heart in Puglia, of course!)
Paola succeeded in making our stay a memorable one- with suggestions and advice on the best the region has to offer- which is a lot! Great scenery, neat small old towns, fresh foods, homemade pastas, wonderful wines (make sure to try the whites from Locorotondo!) and wonderful people everywhere- proud of their region and eager to share it with visitors!
Certainly a highlight of our many trips to Italy!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay, we do our best to make visitors feel like home. Travelling is sharing culture experiences in many ways, it is true we are eager to share them with our guests as much as we can.
We enrich our experiences and keep great memories as you do :)
Hope to see you again in the nearest future.

From the stones of an ancient trulli ~ A Masterpiece!
To Franco: Thank you for bringing back to life a beautiful trulli home for those of us who aren't lucky enough to live in beautiful Apulia! Your vision in architecture and design is amazing! You provided us with ALL the comforts of a modern home, while indulging us with the experience of living in a fairytale structure. The gardens, cherry trees (ready to pick), pool, grapevine covered patio, privacy and peaceful quiet all added to the charm of a "trulli" unique slice of heaven.
To Paola, our lovely, sweet, warm, bilingual hostess: Thank you, mille grazie, for taking such good care of us! You met us at an easy landmark to show us the way, and your recommendations for sights and restaurants were spot on. The cooking class you arranged and translated for us with Rosa was delicious; a wonderful memory!
Locorotondo is an authentic, small hilltown, quaint and very walkable with lots of great restaurants and such nice people! It's the perfect central location for daytrips to other towns and points of interest in the area.
We are gathering up family and friends to come with us next time, hopefully in the very near future. Cant wait!
We can't wait to have you as our guests again soon! You are that kind of guests we are always pleased to have in our home. Thanks so much for your kind, kind words, it was great to meet you in our land and share nice moments with you and your sweet bride.
You will always be welcome!

Lovely Trullo holiday home in Puglia
This Trullo house is as beautiful as shown on the pictures - nicely decorated. We received a warm welcome and introduction by Paola - and as arriving Saturday there was also some food. The guests of two other Trulli are sharing the pool / whirlpool - though every house has his privacy / private terrace. The kitchen equipment meets the highest standards (induction stove, huge fridge). Our children got the separate Trullo with own bathroom, fridge, TV, providing a little independence which they liked too. The location between Alborobello and Locorotondo is also ideal to discover all of Puglia region (Castel del Monte, Trani, Matera, Bari, Lecce, Oltranto, Taranto). Overall surely a nice holidayhome to recommend.
