This is our second home, so it is equipped for comfort. It's VERY new and we are new to hosting, so we will be eager to hear if there are items we should change or add. We appreciate guest's patience as we master the process. We know the best reviews come from the happiest guests, and we'll do what we can to assure a great experience. About Sara Wood-Kraft
We live in California and have a daughter who moved to Philly a few years ago. Since she is staying in Philly, we bought this place down the block from her (that's how we know this is a great neighborhood!). Our goal is to spend as much time as possible in this home and also to share it with others who want/need to spend time in Philadelphia working, visiting family, or just visiting this beautiful city.
Sara Wood-Kraft purchased this House in 2014
Why Sara Wood-Kraft chose Southwest Center City
We love the location and had come to know the neighborhood while visiting our daughter over the last few years. There's a LOT of action in this hip neighborhood, and we were delighted to find a quiet street, not too fancy, where we could rest between adventures. It's VERY hilly where we live - we also love the opportunity to walk and walk in nice flat Philadelphia. There's history everywhere, and wonderful neighborhoods. This place is close to the action but quiet and homey, with friendly and welcome neighbors.
What makes this House unique
This is just a very nice little place. There are a lot of 30-ish couples in the neighborhood. One of them told us that this is the 'perfect' place for their parents to stay, since the couple has little room for guests. 'Close, but not too close' was their phrase. Also, easy access to the new Schuylkill River Boardwalk and Trail is a real bonus for us.
Sara's rowhouse was absolutely lovely! It was very clean, well furnished, comfortable,
attractive, spacious, and in a great location. It's within walking distance to most everything. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Sara is a terrific host. We very much enjoyed our experience here and highly recommend it!
Nicely decorated, great walking location
Sara’s hospitality was greatly appreciated and her attention to details noticeable. The home was clean, well stocked with sheets, towels and kitchen necessities. It was in a nice location and on a quiet street but within walking distance to many restaurants and shops.
Great two bedroom for a weekend trip with two couples
Sara was very responsive and detailed, and the property was great! The perfect spot within walking distance to stores and a short car ride from much of downtown. Very cozy place, we loved spending time there. Would stay again.
Wonderful Philly Neighborhood
Stayed for a week (Dec 14 - 21, 2017) in Sara's lovely row house. Very walkable city with plenty of public transportation by SEPTA along with a lot of Uber, Lyft, and taxi service. Enjoyed the coffee and tea Sara provided. Nice restaurants, pubs, and grocery stores in the neighborhood. We went to Independence National Historical Park, the Old City, Rittenhouse Square outdoor market, Society Hill, Chinatown, Macy's (Wannamaker's) Wurlitzer Christmas Light Show, City Hall Holiday Market, Reading Terminal Market, Italian Market, cheesesteak at Pat's, Old St. Joe's, City Tavern, Christ Church, Plough and Stars, O'Neal's Pub, South Street, U Penn, Temple, LaSalle, Fairmount Park museums and neighborhood, Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral and Basilica, Northern Liberties, and Fishtown. We drove to Philly from Pittsburgh and had no problem finding on-street parking near the row house. We had a fantastic time ten days before Christmas.
Wow! You managed to fit in a lot. I'm betting you'll need a rest when you get home! Thanks for the great review of both the house and the neighborhood. So glad you had a good time. Please come back anytime. I'm sure there's a little more you could do and see (the Anthropology Museum at Penn?) Also, glad to hear that the parking was not a problem. Regards, Sara
We were in town for the Army Navy game and it had all the comforts of home and was very easy for us.
We had a wonderful weekend at the house. And the owner was very helpful in helping us with the area and was very responsive to questions. We would definitely stay here again! The house had everything we needed and it was a fun weekend!
Glad to hear you had such a great time! Come back - we’ll be happy to have you.
Clean, Comfortable, Everything we wanted
This was the perfect place for our trip to Philly. We were able to get to everything we needed and come back to a wonderful house each night.
