Very walkable area, with easy access to public transport, Center City, many local hip restaurants and bars. Street parking is easy to find. 15 min by taxi from airport, or if you are a walker, the train to University City is easy. Cross the South Street Bridge and it's a 15-minute walk. One mile from both University of Pennsylvania and Rittenhouse Square.
This is our second home, so it is equipped for comfort. It's VERY new and we are new to hosting, so we will be eager to hear if there are items we should change or add. We appreciate guest's patience as we master the process. We know the best reviews come from the happiest guests, and we'll do what we can to assure a great experience. We LOVE Philadelphia and are delighted to share our enthusiasm.
We live in California and have a daughter who moved to Philly a few years ago. Since she is staying in Philly, we bought this place down the block from her (that's how we know this is a great neighborhood!). Our goal is to spend as much time as possible in this home and also to share it with others who want/need to spend time in Philadelphia working, visiting family, or just visiting this beautiful city.
Sara Wood-Kraft purchased this house in 2014
We love the location and had come to know the neighborhood while visiting our daughter over the last few years. There's a LOT of action in this hip neighborhood, and we were delighted to find a quiet street, not too fancy, where we could rest between adventures. It's VERY hilly where we live - we also love the opportunity to walk and walk in nice flat Philadelphia. There's history everywhere, and wonderful neighborhoods. This place is close to the action but quiet and homey, with friendly and welcome neighbors.
This is just a very nice little place. There are a lot of 30-ish couples in the neighborhood. One of them told us that this is the 'perfect' place for their parents to stay, since the couple has little room for guests. 'Close, but not too close' was their phrase. Also, easy access to the new Schuylkill River Boardwalk and Trail is a real bonus for us.
Wonderful and cozy. Great location and fabulously appointed. Great place.
The property was perfect - well kept, well supplied, perfect location for everything we needed. Short walk to essential shops (grocery, Walgreens, etc). Uber and citibikes were very convenient. Owner is fantastic and really helped us out both before and after the stay. Everything was perfect from first contact theough the end of the trip.
This place was everything we had hoped for. My wife and 7-month old daughter joined another couple and their 11-month old son for a trip to historic Philadelphia and the location was perfect. Very close to a CVS for supplies, and very convenient for downtown travel via UBER/LYFT. Row House was in excellent condition and very modern. Has washer and dryer if needed and internet access. I highly recommend this location and Sara was more than helpful with her descriptions and advice. A wonderful place for a getaway.
Beautiful apartment with everything to make you feel like your at home. Comfy beds and great towels. Definitely would stay here again
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Sara was extremely responsive to all questions and gave us loads of information about the neighborhood. The property was exactly as depicted and was very nicely furnished with everything provided that we needed. We didn't cook there a lot, but the kitchen seemed very well-supplied. I love to stay in a place like this where you don't have to wash silverware, glasses, cups, and plates everytime you eat because there are only four of everything! Sara is very generous with supplies. We didn't have a car, so didn't have to deal with parking (a good thing, I think). We used Lyft and Uber or walked, and all worked great. Would definitely stay here again if we are visiting Philadelphia.
I am a little reluctant to give a positive review because I am afraid this rental will get "swarmed." But . . . our party thought it was great. It was a last minute rental to be with some family friends whose daughter was at CHOP. Walkable to CHOP (and HUP and Penn), very quiet at night. My parent friends were able to "tag team" and use the spare bedroom for a little bit of a break from sleeping in the hospital cot. Very pleased with this rental and with Sara, the owner, who followed up to make sure I was comfortable. Property was just as depicted, quite clean; nice linens, plenty of towels . . . .
