About The Owner

We are a retired couple who purchased the K1 & K2 cabins, totally renovating them to new condition while retaining their rustic ambiance. We live nearby, available for any needs while totally respecting the privacy of our guests.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why The Owner chose Moosehead Lake

The Moosehead lake area offers a wilderness experience similar to Alaska. It is the last Frontier, quiet, expansive, yet offering all conveniences. It is an easy drive from Boston or Coastal Maine.

What makes this cabin unique

The spectacular views of Big and Little Moose Mts. with the grassy lawn leading down to the Moosehead Lake shorefront led us to purchase this unique propery. Perfect for swimming, boating, relaxing or exploring. We have a tool shed available for any repair needs, firewood stacked for campfires and advice or directions for the area.

Serenity Now!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you get out of your car, it takes your breath away. The scenery, the calm, the quiet- the serenity. The cabin is immaculate and you don't need for a thing. Clean, cozy and comfortable. Elizabeth and Pete are gracious, informative and helpful hosts should you need a thing. Couldn't have asked for a more decompressing vacation although we did everything and saw so many great places that we need to go back. You can hike, bike, kayak, swim, explore, golf- anything. Or just sit at the water edge and watch the day go by and relax. The fires at night were refreshing and relaxing. It was such a non-effort vacation. Everything and more we could have asked for in a weeks time to reconnect and rejuvenate! Beautiful property. Worth it all!

Can't be topped

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for anything better. The condition of the cabin and the amenities provided were absolutely perfect for our family of three (although K2 could easily handle a couple of more). Elizabeth and Pete are genuinely good people and welcomed us with open arms. They are very knowledgeable about the area and were great company as well.

We had planned on making only one trip to Greenville in our lifetime but staying at K2 may have changed our minds.

Thank you for the amazing time Elizabeth and Pete!

Owner's Response: We so enjoyed this delightful young family and their enthusiasm about the Moosehead area and our K2 cabin. Loved baby Max who settled in immediately, whether viewing the hikes from his fathers back, relaxing on the porch or napping in the quiet cabin. Hopefully they will return again having experienced Moosehead Lake and all it has to offer. Many thanks for the kind review. It gives an honest perspective which is so helpful in a vacation choice. Elizabeth and Pete

Perfect Spot

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at K2 for a week at the end of July- it was a perfect "home base" to relax and getaway from it all! The cabin is very cozy, clean and well-appointed. The backyard had a beautiful spot to hang out - playing yard games, making smores at the fire pit, skipping rocks at the water's edge, catching crayfish (boy's favorite) or just enjoying the beautiful sunsets. There was plenty to do in the area....we spent time fishing, moose hunting, hiking to the B2 bombing site and Mt. Kineo, canoeing, eating ice cream (and crepes..yumm!) and finding hidden spots to just enjoy the beauty of God's creation. Pete and Elizabeth are very gracious hosts - offering different tidbits about the area and suggestions on places to visit. Pete even filleted our 2 fish that we caught because we had no clue what we were doing - Thanks, Pete...you're a gem! Our family gives the cabin, hosts and location two thumbs up :-)

Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking time to enumerate all the fun things to do at Moosehead lake. Pete more than happy to help an enthusiastic young fisherman with his first catch in spite of making it up as he went along ( the filet process.) The boys proudly brought us a sample of the fried whitefish, delicious! A gracious family who enjoyed K2 and were generous to share their experience with others.

Wonderful Spot!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second summer visiting Moosehead Lake and renting K2. Such a wonderful location. The cabin has everything we need and is always so clean. Elizabeth and Pete are so friendly and are there if you need them and if you don't, you barely notice they are nearby! It's a wonderful destination. We spent time going on a few hikes in the area and riding bikes with our kids exploring the area. I highly recommend this cabin and location for anyone. It's close to town but so peaceful. The best part is the screen porch and sitting there at night listening to the loons. We definitely would love to return! Thanks Elizabeth and Pete for being such wonderful hosts.

Owner's Response: Always a pleasure to have this great family as repeat guests. Two enthusiastic boys, one of whom presented us with a panoramic view of K2 and surroundings, drawn from memory,a year later on route to Moosehead lake. Not a detail was missed. It spoke volumes for the impression it made on a young mind. The cabin was left in spotless condition as always, so respectful. Makes it a pleasure to share this unique location.

Amazing Place to Stay!!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in the K-2 for four nights and were very sad when it came time to leave. When we arrived, we were greeted by two wonderful owners - Pete and Elizabeth. They were as helpful and as kind as could be. They provided an enjoyable experience with the booking of the cabin, the cleanliness of everything in the cabin (including the linens provided), helpful tips on the area, and overall condition of the cabin grounds.

This cabin is situated right on Moosehead Lake, only a mile from the center of Greenville. The town is small but has everything you need. There was a nice grass area outside the cabin to barbeque, canoe, or just sit by the fire pit while admiring the beautiful view. Sunsets were absolutely gorgeous from here. The kitchen was stocked with most everything you could think of needed to cook – making us feel right at home. We loved the fresh air, delicious water, and the quietness of this area. It is very difference than what we are used to in New Jersey. We also got to see the inside of the K-1 cabin which is just as nice as the K-2, just a little smaller. I would highly recommend either of these cabins for your stay in Greenville, Maine.

Even with a little bit of rain and some clouds during our stay, the trip was great! We were able to hike, ATV, sightsee, and most importantly, relax. The 10 hour drive to get there was well worth it. I wouldn't change a thing about our vacation and I cannot wait to book again for next year!!!

First Timers - from the Finger Lakes

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough about the hospitality we received, the beauty and comfort of K2....Gorgeous view of Moosehead Lake, extrememly comfortable cottage/cabin and very tastefully decorated. We particularly loved it because it is much like our home....knotty pine everywhere...a VERY WARM feeling environment. Very private, We enjoyed a campfire by the lake, the coziness of the cabin and the serenenity of the whole area. of course we want to go back. Quaint town, too. Elizabeth and Pete are wonderful...very gracious and personable. And, the day we left, we just missed a moose going down the driveway....saw the big footprints, though. Great place....hope to get back there!

Owner's Response: Our pleasure to have Jane and Gerald as satisfied, happy guests. Just missing a bull moose trotting through the back yard as they were leaving, hopefully a reason to return. Our many thanks for taking the time to share your experience with future guests. We look forward to seeing you both again. Elizabeth and Pete

Map

We are located on the East side of Moosehead Lake, off Lilybay Rd. The cabin is less than 100 feet from shore with views of Big and Little Squaw Mts. Private, quiet setting at the end of the road but a convenient mile drive to stores and restaurants.
