This house is ideal for families. Lots of room for everyone. Two kitchens, two living rooms, and 3 bathrooms, plus two sets of washer/dryers.

Highlander 2 will accommodate 22 people in beds.

This 3 level chalet offers over 3,000 square feet of well maintained, ski in ski out, lodging at Winterplace ski resort. It is also an easy 40 minute (highway) drive to the New River Gorge National Park (hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, ziplining, etc)

There are 6 bedrooms, 2 full kitchens, 3 full baths, 2 washer/dryer sets and upper and lower deck area.

This is a great set up for large groups or multi family groups looking for open comfortable space with great access to the slopes and beautiful views. This house is also an easy 40 minute drive from the New River Gorge recreational area - whitewater rafting, climbing, biking.

This property is located right alongside one of the beginner ski runs close to a chairlift. Winterplace offers 27 trails, nine lifts (two quads) a snow tubing park and night skiing until 10:00 PM.

Winter Place Ski resort is Conveniently located off Interstates 64 & 77 at Flat Top (Ghent) West Virginia elevation 3252.

Summer Vacation Rental available for groups and families seeking an affordable cabin near whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking or rock climbing.

Great house on the slopes…

This is our 3rd year renting one of the Highlander houses. We had five families and everyone had a bed and loved the location. We skied, sledded and enjoyed lots of laughs. Can’t wait till next year!

Overall a great stay. Only complaints at all were that the grass was over knee high and some of the outdoor furniture was very flimsy. Other than that we were all very pleased.

We had a great time. Everyone loved the house. Plenty of space. (14) of us.. Would definitely stay here again. The deer ran right up practically to our door every morning... The only thing that went wrong was that the Wi-Fi would stop working once in awhile. But it would come back on. Overall we had a great time!!!

Halloween get a way

Very nice house. Plenty of bedrooms and beds. We rented the whole place so we had 2 full kitchens and living rooms. It was just an extended family get a way for us, 17 people total. We were there without the snow, so the kids played outside a lot. We also hiked the "snow" trails. It was a good walk. If you are a skier, I don't think you could find a better location. A lift is not far from the deck. You could easily ski right up to the house.

We had a great time, space plan was good for our 4 families (8 adults & 9 kids). The main level sofas are not comfortable at all. One was a pullout bed and missing the mattress so it literally sunk. The other was odd and cushions would not stay in place. Other than that, we liked it.

Great location and view!

House is very dated with no recent updates. Could be a very nice rental. When paying 1600.00 a night. Needs to have all new mattresses, new sofas and new pots and pans that are not scratched up. House was clean and the view was beautiful. Just needs updating and new cooking pans for cooking that Teflon is not peeling off into your food. We stayed here 10 years ago and bedding was much nicer then and couches. Just really worn out now. Disappointed this time. Also second level door handle is very loose. Perfect for skiing in and out of house and large groups. TVs we’re nice with Roku. Would be nice to have two more in the master suites on each level.

Excellent extended family space!

Debra has the perfect property for multiple family/large group vacationing! We had 4 married couples, 2 families with multiple children ranging in age from 0-8. We found it very convenient to have two kitchens and living rooms to spread out in. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable with 2 families claiming levels 2 & 3 and the two married couples were on the first floor. Even though there were so many small children in the same house, the insulation between floors is so good that no one on a different level knew when a baby cried at night! The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, the bathrooms and kitchen/fridge were perfectly clean, too! We loved that the kids could just go out onto the deck and onto the ski slope area to play and run around without disturbing anyone or without worrying about hazards like cars. The area is very quiet, although you can hear the traffic from the highway that is nearby when you're in the front of the house. However, there is no reason to be in the front unless you are going to the car. The second/third levels are bright with the second level feeling very light and airy due to the beautiful wall to ceiling windows. A/C works well and there was plenty of hot water for showers. Do bring your own TP, kitchen towels, spices, toiletries, trash bags, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, etc. as Debra suggested. You will need your own as they are not supplied. Follow her instruction and you'll be fine. It was the best house!

Family get a way

Just a weekend with my wife’s family. We do it once a year somewhere in wv. We usually have 16+ people and it is hard to find a place big enough. This home worked out great.

Ski trip

Great house for family get together. 2 large kitchens on 2 levels and 6 bedrooms over the 3 levels. We used it during ski season, so the ski-in and ski-out was very convenient.

Spacious chalet

We had a great time at this place. Perfect spot for coming on and off slopes. I would stay there again. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to have a fresh coat of paint on second floor. Maybe update coaches on second floor. For the price a night that would be my only suggestion. More than enough room. Loved where we were and it was nice clean.

Perfect for large families. Lots of stairs to climb so be sure your family can manage. There are two kitchens which comes in handy but we had to take a lot of things from the downstairs to cook upstairs. Beds were not very comfortable - lumpy

Great proximity to the Lilly Family Reunion grounds.

This huge house easily accommodated family from Ohio and Alabama for the family reunion and is only a 5 minute drive to the Lilly Reunion Grounds! Both evenings we had local family come visit and enjoy the back porches and fire pit area. Having two full kitchens was very helpful for hosting Friday nights pizza party and for prepping reunion food. The only reason 5 stars was not given for cleanliness was because the ac vents required a good cleaning but otherwise the kitchen and bathrooms were very clean and the bed linens were nice. Although a smidge on the pricey side, the rental fee is do-able when split amongst several family members and Definitely Worth It! Will be back again for sure!

Summer on the ski slopes

The house was spacious with an upstairs and downstairs kitchen. It was clean and the managers responded immediately to questions. We had a large group and we struggled a bit to find enough utensils or pans but managed by combining the upstairs and downstairs kitchen equipment.

Nice place, but did not have basic necessities

We loved our stay. It was a beautiful cabin. The only thing keeping me from making it 5 stars is that they did not provide any towels, wash cloths, paper towels, or toilet paper. Luckily there was a dollar general close by.

The location of Highlander 2 is very convenient for a great ski weekend. Easy access to everything Winterplace has to offer. The house is large and accommodating for large families or groups. We will stay here again in the future!

Love the location

This property was perfect for our ski trip. We had 5 families and skied off and on all day and even did some night skiing. Having the two kitchen was great for preparing large meals. Would love to stay again!

In our view the chalet’s greatest strength is its easy access. Located just of Interstate 64/77, the parking area is large and convenient, the skiing is a step off the deck, access to world-class outdoor fun is minutes away, rafting, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking in the Fayetteville & New River Gorge area. Shopping and amenities are nearby, and the ski resort lodge is a short walk right across from the Chalet.
