Cozy In Jasper
Cozy, quiet and clean. After a day of hiking in Jasper N.P., getting away from the crowds to The Burle Home was just what the doctor ordered.
Very well stocked and very comfortable. A most very enjoyable stay.
Nice stay in Brule
a beautiful house with all necessary stuff. In a beautiful, quiet environment
Great place but a little far from Jasper
My group of 6 stayed here for our quick trip to Jasper. We spent all day in the park so the 45-60 minute drive to the house at night was very dark and kind of scary. I don't know if I would choose to stay this far out again if/when we return to Jasper. However, the house itself was great! Everything that we needed was provided and there was plenty of space for all of us. I would agree with another reviewer that a 2nd bathroom would have been nice for such a large house but we didn't have a problem with the 1 bathroom. The heater warmed up the house very quickly and we were all very comfortable. With so many of us, the slow wifi got even slower so we didn't really use it.
Adequate and okay
Situated at the end of a long isolated road with the nearest convienences about 15-20km away, so we had to make sure we obtained provisions on the way home. Location was nice and quiet. It was a little further away from Jasper National Park than we would have preferred adding at least 30 mins to any journey.
It was clean and presentable although work on the lower floor was still in progress. This property suffers from only having one bathroom and could do with at least a separate toilet on the lower floor. Also a lack of storage to put your clothes, so you have to live out of your suitcase, which was okay for a short stay of 1-3days.
A National Park pass was a nice touch, unfortunately we had already purchased an annual one!
Renovations not finished and too far from Jasper
Very disappointed in this property.
The literature states 45 mins from Jasper, the journey is actually well over 1 hour, closer to 1.5 hours from central Jasper. If you want to stay here as a base for exploring Jasper then look elsewhere it’s too far out.
The house is clearly undergoing renovations (we were not informed of this). There were holes in the bathroom door, one bedroom had no handle fixtures at all. Ceiling downstairs was not completed therefore pipes, wires etc were all exposed. There were renovation materials left around the house such as paint pots etc.
The lounge and kitchen/ dining were completed and adequate.
If we had received accurate descriptions of the house and location we would have chosen elsewhere to stay, we feel this needs to be addressed as it leans towards false advertising.
Sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your stay. We would have been happy to address your concerns if you had contacted us.
The description of the property clearly states how far it is from Jasper, and this is verifiable by Google Maps.
The description also states that the upstairs is fully finished while the downstairs is partially finished. The ceiling is only unfinished where the furnace is located, all other ceilings are completed and there are no renovation materials located anywhere other then under the stairs.
As for the hole in the door, a guest this summer closed the bathroom door harshly which caused a hole due to the stopper that was attached to the door hinge. We have not had the opportunity to fix the hole, which is around 2 inches in diameter.
We have had many 5 star reviews from guest who were very satisfied, and we would have been happy to talk about your concerns.
Thank you for your feedback.
Brule is a historic hamlet with 52 residences and many amenities. There's a community league area with a hall, ball diamonds, picnic areas, a hockey rink, fire pits and a play ground. It even has it own volunteer fire department!
The town is located just a couple of minutes from the Athabasca River, Brule Lake and the famous Brule Sand Dunes. We are surrounded by trees and an abundance of wildlife, such as elk, deer, moose, cougars, bears, foxes, wolves, coyotes, and many other small varieties. There are extensive birds varieties too numerous to list, but who serenade us every morning in the warmer months. A little farther away, around 20 minutes, is the town of Hinton with enough shops and services to ensure that you are never without supplies. 15 minutes away are 5 lakes that offer boating, kayaking and fishing. There are several horse adventure companies also just minutes away, as well as rafting adventures. An amazing adventure also awaits you at Ogre Canyon, a 4 km hike at the base of Jasper National Park.
A short drive takes you to Jasper National Park gate. The park has more things to do than can be included in this narrative, but examples include skiing at Marmot Basin, some of the best cross country skiing land in the world, Miette Hot Springs, world renowned Jasper Park Lodge golf course, Athabasca Falls and of course the town of Jasper itself. Surrounded by numerous mountain fed lakes and mountains, the town of Jasper is the jewel of the Canadian Rockies. Considerable effort has gone into ensuring that Jasper Town retains its charm, with restrictions on commercialization and overbuilding. This results in an experience that is consistent with its natural surroundings. The drive to Jasper often sees mountain goats. elk, moose, and bears like the ones on the pictures
