We are very sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our property and are obviously concerned by your comments on cleanliness. Please be assured that we have taken this matter very seriously as this isn’t something that any previous guests have mentioned. On investigation, our property manager advised that she was unable to complete her final “sweep” of the house, as you wanted to check in 4 hours before the check in time and wanted immediate access to the property. Initially we had agreed that you would contact the property manager when you were an hour away so that she would do this and be there to meet you. We offered our cleaner to return immediately after you highlighted a couple of concerns. At your convenience our cleaner returned to the house at 8pm for him to re clean the areas you were not satisfied with (an air vent, dust on the weighing scales in the bathroom and one hair). He still cannot understand the comments regarding the sofa as it is red not black. In addition you were offered a fresh set of linen to which you did not reply. Whilst we always appreciate constructive feedback we feel your comments are very harsh. Thank you for highlighting the issue with dust in the air-conditioning units. Since you have vacated the property we have arranged for a full service of all air-conditioning units to eliminate all dust. We also arranged for our property manager to remove a few leaves away from the patio however they could not find any food debris on either the BBQ or table nor any smells. The house description, original contract, house rules and emails prior to arrival highlighed the linen/cleaning fee. We hope though you managed to enjoy the excellent other facilities such as the great location and wonderful pool and gardens.

(En espanol abajo) I am saddened to hear this as you sent me a text on your 2nd day saying everything was perfect (apart from the fridge) and if I got a bigger fridge for next year you would book now for the following year. Also that the house is clean and meets your needs. We provided another mini fridge straight away (3 fridges in total) as it was not possible to buy and install a bigger fridge in the kitchen immediately. It is a shame that you did not advise us of the other smaller issues at the time as we would have sorted these i.e. frying pan etc. The padel court has a 24 hour reservation system for everyone to ensure fairness of booking. The house is cared for, sadly I have been unable to travel until September because of Covid but these issues will be addressed and a bigger fridge freezer installed. I am surprised by your rating as the guests a few weeks earlier gave a 5 star rating. However I hope you had a lovely stay in Javea. Me entristece escuchar esto, ya que me enviaste un mensaje de texto en tu segundo día diciendo que todo estaba perfecto (excepto el refrigerador) y que si tuviera un refrigerador más grande para el próximo año, reservarías ahora para el año siguiente. También que la casa esté limpia y satisfaga tus necesidades. Inmediatamente proporcionamos otra mini nevera (3 neveras en total) ya que no era posible comprar e instalar una nevera más grande en la cocina de inmediato. Es una pena que no nos hayas avisado de los otros problemas menores en ese momento, ya que los habríamos solucionado, es decir, sartén, etc. La pista de pádel tiene un sistema de reserva de 24 horas para que todos garanticen la imparcialidad de la reserva. La casa está bien cuidada, lamentablemente no he podido viajar hasta septiembre debido a Covid, pero estos problemas se solucionarán y se instalará una nevera-congelador más grande. Estoy sorprendido por su calificación ya que los invitados unas semanas antes dieron una calificación de 5 estrellas. Sin embargo, espero que haya tenido una estancia maravillosa en Javea.

Thank you for your lovely review and I note your comment about sun loungers around the pool and will be addressing this with the management company. There are two reclining portable sun loungers in the house and a beach brolly for guests to use if they wish plus palms trees around the pool providing shade. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Casa Cariad.

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the location, pool, tv and wifi and sorry that you felt let down by the property. The house was cleaned prior to arrival however my usual cleaner was in the uk for a few days and another cleaner was used in her absence. It was actually two days later that you flagged up your concerns and I responded immediately with a set of new linen and the next day upon the return of my housekeeper I arranged for her come in and clean the areas you were not happy with. In addition I bought brand new sheets and outdoor seat cushions. There are small side tables in each room that have a little drawer but no chest of drawers. However 2 rooms have shelves in the wardrobes and there is a freestanding unit with 5 shelves in the other room. I do believe that the photos of the property on the website are a true reflection of how it really is. Given all the above and the fact that I offered to compensate you for your inconvenience I feel that your scoring is rather harsh.
