About Kate Leith
I am from nearby Aberdeen, where I live and work full time. I enjoy travelling and I have visited some wonderful places in the world and appreciate good hospitality. I hope that guests who come to The Wee House will enjoy a fantastic holiday in this little part of the world.
Kate Leith purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Kate Leith chose Pennan
I have been visiting Pennan for a number of years as my parents own a holiday home here too. I bought The Wee House in 2014 and it has been lovingly restored into a beautiful seaside home - just the right size for two people! My boyfriend travels extensively for his job so its wonderful to have a getaway just an hour away when he is in Scotland.

A really special little hideaway
Even though it was a glorious weekend we still lit the stove downstairs just to enjoy the sight, sound and smell of the burning wood. We plan to return in the winter as this cottage is a great little place to hideaway for a few days.
It is really well presented and equipped with everything you need for a trip to the Highlands. We shall return soon.
The perfect getaway
We first visited Pennan a few years ago whilst staying a mile or so away, each time we came back we would insist on returning and staying in the village itself. And now, having done so, we are not sure we could return and NOT stay in Kate’s wonderful cottage.
Kate met us on arrival and even had the fire going.
This cottage is a real gem. We slept with the window open listening to the waves. We popped the bench by the edge of the path during dusk, with blankets, wine and our books. We bought seafood in Banff and cooked risotto in the evening, writing and listening to music in the loft. We made a picnic and enjoyed the warm sun in stunning CullyKhan Bay. We dined in The Pennan Inn, twice.
Thank you Kate, your attention to detail in the cottage made the stay so very special.
We are already planning our return!
Excellent holiday in delightful cottage.
The cottage is very well appointed and is delightful to stay in. Very cosy with log fires and extra electric heating if needed. So close to such beautiful views. Kate let us in and had fire already lit, and we had a fabulous time. Just wished we could have stayed longer...but we'll definitely be back when we can! Thank you Kate.
A petite property bursting with charm and character, lovely finishings and thoughtful guest gifts!
It’s the middle of winter and I couldn’t think of a better place to be while the waves crash spray and seaweed over the car outside. It was a perfect stay, we cooked up a storm in the kitchen, played games, read and relaxed. Thankyou Kate!
A beautifully appointed property, very cosy, comfortable and a great deal of attention to detail has been taken which affords its guests the best possible experience. Kate is a great host and we really look forward to our next stay 🙂
The greatest little place, where the sounds of the sea and cosy warm fires make for a perfect stay!
We love this place as it marks the beginning of our honeymoon and a life long being together <3
There are lots of things to do around the Pennan area, including, the whiskey trail, fantastic golf courses, many castles and walks.
