About Kate Leith

I am from nearby Aberdeen, where I live and work full time. I enjoy travelling and I have visited some wonderful places in the world and appreciate good hospitality. I hope that guests who come to The Wee House will enjoy a fantastic holiday in this little part of the world.

Kate Leith purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Kate Leith chose Aberdeenshire Area

I have been visiting Pennan for a number of years as my parents own a holiday home here too. I bought The Wee House in 2014 and it has been lovingly restored into a beautiful seaside home - just the right size for two people! My boyfriend travels extensively for his job so its wonderful to have a getaway just an hour away when he is in Scotland.

Quaint, cozy, cute and everything you need in a home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

When we walked in it was everything we had seen and imagined from the website. All the facilities where in good working order. The bed was comfy and warm. The house was very warm once the wood burning fire was roaring. The bathroom was small but had everything u needed, including a bath, when you stay you'll see what I mean.

The pub (Pennan inn) does great food and good portion sizes and it's about 20 steps away.

There nothing I can fault with The Wee House in Pennan, I suggest you go and stay xxx

The owner has thought of everything. Luxurious, stylish, quirky and so comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay at The Wee House. It is beautifully decorated and comfortable and has absolutely everything you need. The wood burner with all fuel included, the electric blanket, the lovely floored attic space....I could go on. Absolutely stunning and somewhere we will definitely return to when seeking a relaxing, chilled break. It was lovely to be able to pop into the Inn for a drink or meal as well. A brilliant few days, thank you.

Lovely Little Place!

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely place to stay and was very clean and well maintained. We were very impressed by how well equipped the kitchen was and how cleverly the space was fitted. It is a small property (as you expect being called the 'Wee House') but we never felt cramped.

We really enjoyed the little touches all around the building to make it feel homely and not like a 'holiday home'. We stayed over Christmas and Pennan was extremely quiet (we checked a few times and the local pub didn't seem to be open) but it didn't affect our enjoyment as we had lots of cosy nights in front of the fire. Kate was very friendly and helpful in the run up to our arrival and everything was easy to understand (e.g. finding the wifi code, etc). There isn't an information pack like you find in a lot of places but we found our way around without any issue and the welcome pack was very much appreciated after a long journey! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Cosy little cottage in beautiful Pennan

  • 5 of 5

The Wee House was a perfect little cottage in the quiet village of Pennan. The house had everything we needed for our three nights stay. It was beautifully furnished and very clean . Being there at this time of year it was great for sitting in front of the fire listening to the waves breaking on the wall. We could easily visit all the coastal villages from Fraserburgh to Buckie from there. The hotel at this time of year is open Saturday and Sunday for dinner or for a drink. We dropped in on Sunday night for a drink and a chat with the friendly barman 😊򒠠At this time of the year it is very quiet so be prepared for eating in and quiet evenings relaxing in comfort.

Thank you Kate for sharing your lovely little cottage with these two Aussies, we will remember it with fond memories of our 30th wedding anniversary.
