Be our guest in a beautiful piece of American history! Built in 1790, this log home exemplifies a page from our history books with original wood floors, walls and beams. Located just 5 minutes walk from downtown, Lincoln Square, the home was once owned by Thaddeus Stevens and sits with a front seat view of where the Confederates occupied West Middle Street during the Battle of Gettysburg. The home, while keeping it's historic character, also contains modern conveniences (central air conditioning, recessed lighting, fully updated kitchen and baths, etc.). The Thaddeus Steven's house has 3 cozy bedrooms (upstairs, 2queen, 1full) and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms. Perfect for a couple, family or group of friends! Join us in this gorgeous historical home as you explore Gettysburg! **Please keep in mind the home was built in a time, when people were smaller. Ceilings and doorways are low. The floors slant and creak. The closet space is limited. Appreciate where you are--transported to a special time--imagine yourself in another era! Enjoy Gettysburg!

Really Cool Cabin!
LOVED this cabin! Beautifully decorated with everything you could ever want or need. This was such a unique little gem, couldn't have been happier with the cabin and our gracious host, Sarah. Thank you Sarah for sharing your cabin!
We loved our time here! Right from the start Sarah made our time a pleasant one. She gave great suggestions of things in the area as well as gave us the history of the home. The home was modern, while still keeping to the authenticity of the time. Yes, the floors slanted and creaked, but this is an authentic log home so we loved every minute of it. Many of the basics were available in the home, which we truly appreciated. We plan on staying here on our future Gettysburg trips. Thank you!
Charming, Quaint and Comfy!
We were thrilled to have the opportunity to live in history while visiting history. The cottage was welcoming and allowed us the chance to easily access many restaurants downtown (particularly an Irish Pub that has over 95 Irish Whiskies!). Our host was fantastic and kind enough to share her personal history to the area. If you haven't been to Gettysburg - we highly recommend watching the movie before you come. The cottage is exactly how it's described - quaint, slanting floors, comfortable, relaxed, low ceilings, charming decor and an overall rustic feel with modern touches. They have taken great care to maintain this home's historical value while offering it to modern clientele. A difficult task that was handled brilliantly.
Perfect House in Amazing Location
Log cabin took you on a time travel back to civil war times. Location was walkable to everything we did. Would 110% stay here again.
The cabin was wonderful!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this little historical cabin. It was perfect for our family. Our teenage boys that are 6’1” did have to watch their heads but they thought it was fun. The cabin was in a great location to everything we wanted to see and do! We would stay here again if we ever return to Gettysburg!
A great experience. Sarah was awesome
