Fun for our family and convenient for our older kids going back and forth from Philadelphia. Beautiful property exactly as advertised. Had a relaxing time at the pool all week. Looking forward to going back!
Perfect with infants or children, large garden to play and away from any traffic / noise. Kitchen is open to allow multiple people to cook and have a great time together
We had a great stay at this lovely little house. We were in the area for a wedding, and this house suited us perfectly. The property is lovely and completely private, and though the pool isn't heated it's very nice. And the screened-in back porch is great in summer after the sun goes down.Thank you!
Loved this place! Very clean and well-stocked. My family who came over for the BBQ commented that they would want to come back for a writing retreat. Excellent place for gathering and spending time with family! Lots of room for reflection and gathering together. Kids loved the backyard. BBQ grill was clean and helped tie in our family gathering very nicely.
We rented this property in addition to Worsell Manor for our daughter's wedding. The property is exactly what we needed. It's well maintained, plenty of space and the pool was very much appreciated.
Our family stayed for a week and had a great time! We enjoyed the peaceful setting with lots of grounds for walking and enjoying nature. The pool was a favorite to cool off and have fun. The house was very comfortable with a mixture of old and new amenities. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and there was plenty of seating for everyone. The streaming (satellite?) was adequate for our needs although did slow down during bad weather. Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation and are looking forward to returning.
Charming, lovely and quiet; exactly what our family was looking for to get away from the city and people. The home is a beautiful step back in time with a spacious mainfloor master bedroom and modern/dream bathroom. The upstairs bedrooms are just as cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed the screened in porch and tree shaded pool in the evenings. We will definitely book this location again!

Great house, awesome property
The house was amazing as was the size of the property. The wifi was too slow to do netflix for the kids, but that's okay we had a few movies on hand before they passed out from playing in the pool all day.
Great place to stay! I got this place for the pool and outdoor area. I loved the pool and screened in porch. They have a table and umbrella next to the pool and plenty of beach towels. The location is very private, no neighbors around at all. Once during the week they had someone come to clean the pool and cut the grass, you'll be notified prior. There's lots of room outside to walk around/exercise. Pool was clean, place was as described. You can get uber eats delivered there without issues. I'd recommend adding a hot tub and a fire pit. I would come back again!
So serene and restful. The only sounds you'll hear are from nature and your own. The pool and screened porch were a delight. Everything you need is provided and Megan responded nicely to some small start up items that were needed. The home and property are very well cared for and clean. Be ware of some early morning insects near the pool and late evening mosquitos, but don't let them deter you. Yes, internet is extremely slow and tv/roku not useful due to all the streaming retransmissions and pauses. However, we were a family of multiple ages, young to old, and each of us had a great time.
From the moment we pulled in I knew it was going to be an amazing place. The house is extremely charming and provided everything we needed. The property is beautiful and we were lucky enough to see deer in the morning. We really could not have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you so very much!
My daughters and I spent a relaxing week here..wish we could have stayed longer. Quiet and secluded. Day trips were fun, but relaxing family time, priceless. Two of my 3 son's came one day for minny family fun day. We had plenty of space for kick ball, corn hole, board/trivia games and our 2 little ones to run around. All were impressed with the beautiful grounds and had hours of fun in the pool. This house has everything you need for quality family time. We were upset we had to cancel our original vacation plans, but this was a lovely substitute! Would love to stay again!
Our stay here was in conjunction with our son’s wedding at Worsell Manor. The house is lovely and roomy and so close to Worsell; it made the entire event even better!
Great stay at this VRBO! Getaway from the hustle and bustle in this house located on nice grassy lot surrounded by woods. No neighbors to be seen other than the deer and wildlife. Enjoyed the pool too! Everything you could need in the kitchen. Only thing is the internet connection is weak. The host did warn us ahead of time and it’s fine if you want to disconnect from the world but the tv uses streaming too so it struggled to even watch a show without pausing to buffer.
Our family booked this property for a much needed summer getaway, and our stay was a dream come true!
Secluded, peaceful, and immaculate, this property has EVERY amenity you need to reset and relax.
Elegant yet comfortable, the beautiful color palettes, antiques and historical ephemera were so lovely, and the huge kitchen would be perfect even if you had a large group.
The pool was absolutely a highlight, the pride of the well manicured property, and there is even a hammock under the pear trees for napping, reading or...MORE relaxing!
Megan, our host, was wonderful and answered any questions we had promptly, and we enjoyed meeting Kate, the groundskeeper, who shared the property history and that of Worsell Manor, the historic main home that is part of the estate. If you are planning a wedding, that venue is INCREDIBLE, and worth a visit.
This property is close to many restaurants and Chesapeake City, a beautiful and quaint waterfront town steeped in American History.
Thank you so much, Megan and Kate, our stay was such a highlight of Summer 2021. We hope to return.
A wonderful retreat is a beautiful part of rural Maryland. Being exactly half-way between norther Jersey and DC, the house was the perfect location for us to meet up with friends, and spend a few days swimming and relaxing. The house was clean, everything worked well and Megan was very helpful.

We were looking for a hunting property and came across Worsell Manor. After a year of loving restoration we purchased Bohemia as it is Worsells sister property.
Why they chose this property
It's the sister house to our other property Worsell Manor
What makes this property unique
George Washington was known to have stayed at Worsell Manor numerous times and walked the trails leading to Bohemia. Its a true piece of History !
