About the property

At the turn of the century my great grandfather and grandmother, George and Golda Scott, purchased this farm.

In 1963, when my father graduated from Ohio State with a degree in agriculture, Great grandpa George gave him and my mother this farm.

My parents farmed this (along with about 900 other acres) and raised three daughters here.

After my parents’ death in 2004 and 2005, I, Dalelene, that middle daughter, and my husband, Dave, and our youngest daughter bought the farm and relocated here from Lancaster. We are so happy to live here.

After living “back home” for five years, we decided to use this beautiful farm for more than just a residence.

The George and Goldie CabinWe thought that others would enjoy our 80 acres. So, with the help of Ron White Builders, we built our first cabin to allow others to experience the calmness, serenity, and solitude of our family farm. We named this first cabin after my great grandparents, George and Golda (I called her Grandma Goldi) Scott; the George and Goldi.

We hope you enjoy the property and remember with fondness, your time here.

Perfect & Cozy Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the perfect weekend in this cozy, secluded cabin! We were able to hike all around the property, seen a lot of wildlife Sunday morning, seen a beautiful sunrise! We were also able to watch the OSU vs MICHIGAN game (GO BUCKS!!) infront of the warm fireplace! We cannot wait to come back!

Wonderful secluded cabin! Great value for amenities!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights over thanksgiving with our dogs. We wanted to just get away from it all. This was a perfect choice. We only left the property once to visit friends. Other than that we just enjoyed the peace and serenity of the cabin. Drank coffee on the porch, watched movies, used the hot tub, walked the property and just relaxed.

The cabin is very clean and cozy. There was no wifi- which we found to be a plus- but cell phone service was very good. Nice selection of movies, as well as, direct tv. Loved the bathrobes for the hot tub. There were no toiletries in the cabin so be sure to bring your own. The nearest store is a little drive, so be sure to plan your meals accordingly.

It was an easy drive from Cincinnati and we will be sure to be back, as well as recommend it to our friends.

Peaceful Getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We were kindly greeted by our hosts and given a delicious banana bread, area info and instructions for the cabin. Here's what stood out to us:

Location:

The best thing about this place is the location. At night we sat outside and heard nothing but the wind in the trees and bugs in the fields surrounding us. If you want some peace and quiet, this is the place to go. It's an easy drive to Old Man's Cave and also other dining options (we enjoyed Jackie O's Pub and Brewery). Great location that's very secluded but with easy access to things you'd want. Perfect combination!

Cabin:

The hot tub seemed newer and was fantastic. It sits on the deck with a clear view of the wide open sky and surrounding area. The fireplace inside added such a cozy warmth to the small cabin. Nice king size bed in the loft. Small kitchen but just enough space to make a little food for ourselves. The only thing I would say is that the cabin could use a good detailed cleaning. The important space like the bedding, kitchen and bathroom were clean. But attention to detail throughout the cabin while cleaning would be great. That being said, it wouldn't stop me from staying here again as the location and other things mentioned made it a great weekend away.

Beautiful views, plenty of space to explore and amazing hospitality

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to spend a few days relaxing. My girlfriend and I walked with our dog around the property and relaxed in the hot tub for most of our stay. The hospitality was great with every detail covered from movies and games for rainy days to homemade zucchini bread when we arrived. We'll definitely be back!
