Staying at Thierry’s apartment was a joy! First, he was there to greet me and show me everything I needed to know about the apartment when I arrived. He generously provided fruit, cheeses, and other treats and was in touch before I arrived to arrange those things. The apartment itself was clean and well appointed. Thierry has it cleaned regularly (the cleaning lady even came during my 10 day stay which was a lovely refresh) and the apartment is well maintained. It’s exactly like the photos, opening onto a quiet courtyard that is bright but doesn’t get glaring sun. There was a heatwave during my stay, but there is AC in the apartment and very effective fans, so I survived! And on the cooler days, the breeziness of the space was utterly charming.The apartment is in a great neighborhood, set back from the avenue, surrounded by boutiques, coffee, restaurants, markets (the large marché at Bastille is great, as well as the brocante at the marché d’aligre). It is steps from the line 8 and a short walk to Bastille. Thierry also shared a collection of business cards from his favorite spots in case you need ideas! Thierry is communicative and conscientious. He checked in on me during the worst of the heat. And when my flight home was cancelled last minute, he was available to very generously help me arrange another night. I loved my stay and would easily recommend it to those who know Paris well or are visiting for the first time!
