Beautiful cabin, great location, but know before you go.

The Birdhouse is a beautiful little cabin and perfect for a couples getaway. It is conveniently located off of the main highway near shopping and restaurants while still giving the feel of being secluded. While we did enjoy our stay, there are a couple of things we felt would have been helpful to know before hand. 1. The driveway was washed out and difficult to maneuver. There were significant ruts and we were in a large SUV. This would have been even more difficult, maybe even impossible for a car that is lower to the ground. 2. The cabin did appear clean but the attention to detail was lacking. Dirty glasses and dishes, dead bugs that were clearly sprayed with white insect spray and not swept up. Lots of cobwebs and dust everywhere. 3. This cabin has experienced a fire at some point. While you can see where it has been repaired, you can still smell the smoke heavily in the bedroom and bathroom areas. 4. If you are used to having a pod type coffee maker like a Keurig, bring your own. This cabin is only equipped with a drip coffee maker.

Anniversary/Birthday getaway

This was the most beautiful, cozy cabin for 2. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary the first night. Delicious wagyu ribeye from the Mountain Man Meat Market, grilled it at the cabin, champagne, had deer walking through the property while we sat around the fire pit. Finished up with the hottub. It was amazing. Friends joined the next day for birthday celebration with cornhole and a walk to Shuck Me where we enjoyed fish and chips, crawfish poboy, aligator, and more. Great live music at 6pm. Walked back to the cabin for more time enjoyed around the firepit. 10/10

Cozy cabin in a great location

Cozy cabin for two with an amazing see through fireplace, hot tub, and super comfortable bed. Within walking distance to local brewery and food. We cannot wait to return!

Beautiful property for anniversary getaway

The pictures do not do this property justice. It was a gorgeous cabin equipped with everything you needed. It is very close to great restuarants and brewery. We would definitely stay here again.

This cabin was awesome! Loved the hot tub and see through fireplace.

We loved the layout of the cabin. It was just right for two people with all the amenities to kick back and relax.

Very nice property

Super clean and very well managed. I do recommend it. We had no trouble with the notorious bird. So, maybe that’s solved. My only negative is something we knew going in, you can see neighbors through the trees. And there is a low traffic road nearby. It’s good isolation for cabins in that area, but we tend to like complete wilderness level of isolation. Just not much of that around there, so cant blame them for that. Due to a late booking, we took this property and did really enjoy it. I do highly recommend it when looking for a cabin in this area.

Absolute Gem

Extremely comfortable set up, location and amenities. Extremely comfortable bed and overall layout. Close enough to the "action" yet just far enough away to really feel secluded. Best of both worlds and very well maintained unit. Highly recommend and we will be back without a doubt.

Escape the busy world

Our retreat at the Birdhouse was a great escape. Wonderful amenities. Only negative is the bird that flies at the window early each morning - not the best for trying not sleep in late 😀

Birdhouse is great!

Beautiful cabin, beautiful view, great outdoor fireplace by the hot tub and very clean! Comfortable bed and pillows, soft towels and quiet appliances. This place is for early risers - birds like to attack their reflections in the upper windows in the morning - a natural alarm clock. We were expecting the cabin to be a little more remote and were a little disappointed by the paved road so close to the house, but traffic wasn’t too bad - even on Memorial Day weekend. If you’re planning on doing any serious cooking, bring your own cookware. There is plenty supplied, but not of the best quality and/or condition (understandably). Some great shopping and restaurants are pretty close by - a 10 minute walk for ice cream, etc. All in all - we loved it and had a stress-free and relaxing weekend in quiet isolation.

Everything was great.

Everything was great. The only two problems we had were: A. We heard a loud metallic bang in the middle of the night that freaked us out. We thought it came from outside but next morning we saw that it was a lower access panel to the gas fireplace on the living room side had popped out and landed on the stone ledge. B. A red cardinal kept banging into the upper windows every few seconds from sunrise till late afternoon. I don't know if a fake owl mounted on the outside of the windows would scare him away. Very respectful with quick responses to my questions. Thank you!

Thanks for making our weekend very special. We needed a time of relaxing and just hanging out and that is what we had. The fire pit and the cornhole toss game was a nice touch. Communication with the booking team was excellent. Directions to the cabin were easy to follow. Very good followup throughout the entire process.

Nice cabin

The cabin was pretty nice. There were a couple spots on the high ceiling with some black mold that the owner should look into but overall my wife and I had a very nice time.

The best anniversary trip!

the birdhouse is a super cute cabin that’s minutes away from any restaurant/bar in Hochatown! Our cabin was clean and we we loved the back porch. The property manager, Donna, is amazing!! We will definitely be back!
