Historic Turn Of The Century Home In The Highest Valley In Virginia
Johnsie Beck and Cindy Nicholson
Why Johnsie Beck and Cindy Nicholson chose Tazewell
Burke's Garden is my "hometown." When my husband and I moved our family back to Virginia in 2001, we moved into the renovated Parsonage. We made a few changes over the years, but the core of the house remains just as it was built around 1900. In 2014, we moved next door to my parents' home. Now we're very excited to share this beautiful home with guests who, we hope, will enjoy the beauty and tranquility of this one of a kind setting.

The home is beautiful and the surroundings peaceful. Our stay lived up to every expectation. We biked, hiked, picnicked, relaxed and enjoyed every minute. Thank you to Johnsie and Cindy for another special experience.
Absolutely perfect place to stay for a Burke's Garden visit
Home owner was extremely prompt in returning messages. The home was beautiful with mountain and meadow views out every window. The home was also so beautifully decorated with many amenities!
Comfortable, spacious house in a serene and breathtaking rural farm setting. Highly recommended.
Great Stay in God’s Thumbprint
I took two old friends to Burke’s Garden with me to share this special place. Our stay couldn’t have been better at the Parsonage.
Burke's Garden and the Back of the Dragon Motorcycle Riding Experience!
This stop was the 3rd leg in our 12 day excursion through the mountains of Virginia. Our hosts were most accommodating from our first email contact to the day we left to continue our journey. The house was perfect for our party of 10 with plenty of room to spare. Clean and we'll kept and the laundry and garage facilities were heaven sent for bikers traveling as we were. The location is really nice, nestled and secluded in a valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. The 12 mile trip over the mountain into and out of the valley is what bikers dream of. However weather can be a factor in a location such as this. Lucky for us we had beautiful conditions during our stay.
The local Amish family at the General Store were welcoming and most accommodating as we had our daily breakfast in their establishment.
This is the perfect location for establishing a base camp for the many motorcycle rides that originate out of the town of Tazwell. If you choose this property for your motorcycling adventures the only disappointing thing you will experience is when it's time for your stay to end. Thank you for the great experience and I'm sure our group will be returning to the area in the future. Manny.
Both the home and the surrounding area were beautiful. Tranquil and peaceful location. Most enjoyable. Cindy is a fantastic host. Will return again.
Located in the center of Burke's Garden, VA, the Parsonage is approximately 12 miles from the town of Tazewell, VA. All necessary supplies can be obtained there, if they are not available at the Burke's Garden General Store, 2 miles away.
The secondary road between BG and Tazewell crosses Rich Mountain.
Driving, biking or hiking the looped roads within BG will reveal many beautiful and unique vistas, often including bird and wildlife sightings.
