Hartford House is a gem of an historic property in an historic neighborhood. The home is comfortable and cozy, and also has special elements such as local decor and one-of-a-kind works of art. It has a great mix of old and new - which fits Atlanta perfectly. Atlanta is a wonderful blend of traditional charm and modern coolness.

When you stay with us, you will be close to downtown, all the best city sights, and transportation hubs.

Atlanta is a true FOUR season city. We are entering the festive WINTER season. It's time for cheery events and cozy porches! Winter is always an amazing time in Atlanta. And even though it is Winter - it can still be warm and sunny.

The season comes with fun festivals and great activities - games, concerts, and long days. And also places to enjoy the festivities - the botanical garden is wonderful to stroll, or the Georgia Aquarium. And Atlanta’s famous tree canopy still shows off!!! Some trees still have leaves, it has been so warm.

Hartford House is close to most of the best events, sightseeing, and shopping in the Southeast.

This city is a great place for a staycation or vacation. It is truly one of the most underrated cities in the US.

There is something for everyone ... You can enjoy outside activities and the zoo; and there are also tons of indoor activities, such as museums, shopping, and performances, for any gloomy or rainy day.

Hartford House is perfectly located for your home base while in the Atlanta area. We call Hartford House our "nice and comfy" home base.

We call it NICE because it has a few more details guests won't find in other rentals in the area, like a working gas fireplace, a roomy "sit and stay" front porch, a sunny and private side deck, and 3 sizes of beds and basically 3 levels of firmness. And TONS of pillows for even the most picky sleeper.

It's COMFY because guests are so comfortable they feel like they live here--and with just a few blocks to the train station and a few stops on the train (or a few miles if driving) from the airport, guests find the house to be the perfect home base for their business or leisure travel.

Come visit and you will see why guests love Hartford House. Less than 3 miles from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, only a few blocks to the MARTA Train Station, and so close to Atlanta's tourist sites - such as the world-famous aquarium and our amazing little zoo.

10 minutes to Fox Theatre and other Midtown points of interest, like the world-famous Piedmont Park. Less than 10 minutes to the zoo, the aquarium, and Downtown. A short ride to the MKL sites. 3 minutes to 3 of the best breweries (and distillery) in the city. Close to some great natural areas (Arabia Mountain, Cascade Springs, Sweetwater Creek, and relatively close to Lake Lanier & Stone Mountain). Close enough to Chateau Elan for a day trip.

Nestled under Atlanta's famous tree canopy, on a quiet street, you will have all the convenience of the city, while in a restful, and REAL, neighborhood.

Believe it or not, we have foxes, owls, and lots and lots of birds. It's the best of both worlds...close to the glam of the city, but on a street that feels like the country!

Our family stayed here for 4 nights to visit Atlanta attractions. Location was perfect for getting everywhere we needed to go. House was clean and well outfitted and was exactly as described. Having two bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs was perfect for our family. Laura, the host, went above and beyond for keeping up updated about Atlanta, notes about the house, etc. She couldn't have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend this house when visiting Atlanta

Laura had great communication. She responded quickly and was honest about the property. We had a wonderful stay! This house is beautiful with so much charm! Very convenient to the Georgia Aquarium which was the reason for our visit. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. One of the Best Stays I’ve Ever Had!

Our stay at Laura’s property was truly exceptional. The home itself had such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere as it was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as listed.What truly made the experience stand out was Laura herself. Her detailed communication was absolutely amazing, timely, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. In my book, Laura is hands down the best host I’ve ever experienced. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless and enjoyable.I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a smooth, relaxing getaway. I would absolutely stay here again!

Fantastic house, fantastic neighbourhood

Lovely older house, great character with a wonderful front porch. Had a great stay, plenty of room for 3 adults and well stocked. Laura is an amazing host, full of local knowledge which she is very happy to share. Check-in and out was super easy. There was generally a car park at the front door though at night we opted for the space on the property. Would definitely stay again specially as the location was easy for everything we wanted to do, thanks Laura!!

Gorgeous historical home!

We had an absolutely amazing time staying at this beautiful home. The host’s attention to detail is unmatched. The property is welcoming and clean. The beds and linens are comfortable and soft! We would definitely stay at this home again when we come back to Atlanta. The neighborhood is very welcoming and we felt safe our entire visit. Our children loved playing Jenga on the front porch and catching fireflies in the evening. We had the very best time and our host maintained excellent communication and was kind enough to give us nearby recommendations on grocery stores, attractions, and restaurants. We cannot wait to come back!

What an amazing house! Very cute, lots of personality, and beautifully decorated. The neighborhood is also gorgeous, with many historic houses, and a set of trails called the bikeline is in easy walking distance. Great place to go for a jog or walk. My family really loved staying here!!

Clean, Quiet & Charming

We enjoyed our stay at Hartford House very much. In town for a Convention, the location was perfect proximity to the Convention center. The sweet, quiet neighborhood was like a little step back in time - an oasis minutes from downtown. Communication with Laura was the best I’ve ever experienced with a host! She provided loads of info & recommendations that were extremely valuable to our experience in Atlanta. The home was clean and well stocked, and the check in and check out process was seamless. The front porch was a real treat. We’ll definitely look forward to returning to Hartford House in the future.

Perfect Stay

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hartford House. Laura was so helpful with information and suggestions to make the best of our time. Family spring break vacation and our first time to Atlanta. First time using VRBO and Laura made the experience the best. The home was welcoming and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here and would book again when we decided to explore more of Atlanta. Truly an excellent experience and great host!

Hartford House

Laura was an excellent hostess. The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Laura maintained an open line of communication throughout the entire process and stay. She provided spot on recommendations to local eateries that satisfied even our picky eater. As this was our family’s first VRBO experience I would say she exhibited a heroic amount of patience with our questions and concerns. She replied quickly and kindly to what must have felt like playing 50 questions against her will. But we arrived feeling well informed and prepared to experience the city. We are extraordinarily thankful that our first VRBO experience was with the Hartford House and were would recommend it to anyone staying in Atlanta. Should we visit Atlanta again as a family we would 100% rebook. Thank you!

Cozy House short distance from downtown Atlanta

Laura's place is awesome! The location was convenient for our visit to GA Tech. The house is CLEAN, cozy, and well stocked. Plenty of room for five adults during this stay. The upstairs is a cool area, and my husband couldn't stop talking about how comfortable the bed was. There are two parks nearby to walk or jog which was a bonus. A short drive to downtown and the Cathedral of Christ the King for mass. Laura is super helpful with suggestions for groceries and eating out. She is also prompt in communicating and answering any questions you might have ahead of time or during your stay. The location might through you off a bit, but we felt safe the entire time and the neighbors are friendly. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Laura!

Great time!

We were very pleased with the cleanliness, convenience and how the house was stocked. That’s the comment our son kept saying, Wow, I’ve never seen one more stocked. We definitely could have cooked/made anything on the menu! The host was very accommodating with information concerning our stay. Our beds were very comfortable.I would definitely recommend staying at Hartford House and when we are in the area again, we will plan to.

Travel is one of the most important priorities for our family of four. We have been traveling the country since our kids were babies - we have seen all 48 contiguous states, plus Alaska. We plan to see Hawaii soon.

We love traveling... and we are so pleased to be able to offer our nice and comfortable home to other fellow travelers at a reasonable cost.

Because we have seen most of the United States, up close and personal, and we know Atlanta is one of the most welcoming, interesting, and exciting cities in the country.

Atlanta offers something for every traveler and our small neighborhood of Capitol View in Southwest Atlanta gives guests a chance to be in the city -- but also in a less frantic part of town. We absolutely love being able to host travelers in our home.

We also LOVE nice people. We call our home nice and comfy and we are nice people ourselves. We so enjoy opening our home to other NICE people. If you love historic homes in historic neighborhoods, love nice parks, and nice tree-lined streets, you love nice comforts of a cozy home, you will love our Hartford House.

We also believe nice people understand that Atlanta is a city just like any other city. It is not sterile...it has real people here, and not everyone will look and act like you.

We believe this is an advantage of our neighborhood, not a negative. We also will do everything within our control to ensure you have a comfortable and pleasant stay with us...and in turn we expect our guests to be reasonable and that they also are respectful of our home, our neighbors, and our neighborhood.

And the end of the day, we have found most people really like our home and 'hood. Atlanta is everything a mid-sized Southern city should be.

We love our home because it is the perfect combination of city and "country" with exceptional proximity to everything Atlanta has to offer.

The home is on a tree lined street in an historic neighborhood that has retained its authentic character and interesting and cool vibe.

We are proud that Capitol View is one of the remaining neighborhoods that has stayed true to its roots and we are ecstatic that we can offer a nice home for guests that is at a price point that makes traveling accessible for anyone.

You will find a more manicured neighborhood somewhere in Atlanta, but not at our price point, and not with our amazing neighbors and authentic feel.

Our home is in the city...and wonderfully close to downtown and most attractions --- but because it IS in the city, it is possible that you might encounter certain city elements. We can never guarantee you won't see any homeless individuals, or trash on the city roads, or any unpleasantries.

We can promise, however, that as hosts we will always give you accurate information, answer any questions you have, provide all reasonable assistance, and be as helpful and honest as we can be about our home, our neighborhood, and the city.

You will tell you enthusiastically that we love our home and love Atlanta. We hope you love it also!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our rental home is very close to the city's mass transit system (MARTA) and only a few train stops from the airport (or a few miles if you are renting a car instead of taking the train).

The neighborhood has one of the best city parks, with tennis, DISC golf, and a playground with splashpad in the summer. Our neighborhood is only a mile off the interstate, but provides access to the city on surface streets when traffic is heavy.

You can walk or bike to the famous Atlanta Beltline directly from the doorstep. You can feel the history of the house and the neighborhood, with its generous front porch and Atlanta-themed decor. We have a very active neighborhood association, and neighbors who actually wave at you and have time for conversation.

It's a small town area in the city - so it has the best of the country and the city.
