River Meadow Camp Cottage

El River Meadow Camp Cottage se alza sobre una orilla baja del Grand River y se encuentra en un rincón protegido donde puede permanecer en su traje de baño todo el día y disfrutar del sol desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer.

La marea está fuera la mayor parte del día y los niños pequeños pueden chapotear en la bañera, bañarse en agua tibia, perseguir peces pequeños y cangrejos ermitaños y nunca llegar a una profundidad mayor que la de sus rodillas.

Bajo abedules gigantes, la parte de la casa rodante de la casa de campo ha sido construida para agregar en un dormitorio, una sala de televisión y una sala de sol.

El porche es una habitación con ventana cerrada situada en la orilla del río y ofrece un lugar encantador para leer, dormir o cenar mientras observa la puesta de sol.

La cocina de la casa rodante está completamente equipada y tiene una estufa eléctrica, lavaplatos, nevera, un comedor, una cama de día y medio baño.

Esta casa de campo no es lujosa (no es de granito ni acero para quienes la necesitan moderna y elegante), pero tiene todo lo que una familia joven o un grupo de amigos necesitan para su comodidad y conveniencia con el placer adicional de estar inmerso en las vistas y los sonidos de naturaleza.

Zonas de dormir:

     1. Dormitorio con una cama queen size.

     2. La sala delantera tiene un sofá y una silla para ver televisión y un juego de literas para dormir.

    3. Hay una cama individual en la casa rodante y una puerta corredera para cerrar esta área por la noche.

     4. Detrás de la cabaña, hay una pequeña cabaña con lavadora y secadora y un baño completo con ducha, lavabo e inodoro. Hay un conjunto de literas en esta pequeña cabaña donde los adolescentes o adultos jóvenes pueden dormir.

Hay televisión satelital en la casa de campo, pero como no hay servicio de teléfono fijo en esta área, no podemos obtener un paquete de WiFi ilimitado. Sin embargo, sí ofrecemos el servicio de datos HUB WiFi para correos electrónicos, textos y navegación web.

River Meadow Cottage le ofrece la cercanía a la naturaleza que se encuentra en un campamento, pero también tiene la comodidad, la comodidad y la privacidad de una casa de campo.

Fabulously relaxing location!

Truly on the waterfront with a gorgeous view across the Grand River, we enjoyed a relaxing view. High tide, low tide were all fabulous. Much wildlife kept us entertained. Incredibly quiet location! Conveniently located to explore the western half of Prince Edward Island -- 3 day trips to a variety of provincial parks, beaches, harbors, agriculture, aquaculture & wind farms were a few sights during our travels.

The property was unique. The bed in the main building was very comfortable. I didn't like the shower being in the bunkie and that there was no privacy when entering and exiting the shower. Unfortunately there were many mosquitoes so staying outside at night wasn't possible. The power went off during our stay and we could not find any candles so we drove out to get some.

Nice stay

We enjoyed our stay. The ad notes the cottage is in Summerside however it is beyond that, 45 mins to Cavendish. There was only warm water for one person to shower over two days which wasn’t expected but overall, we were happy.

Quiet, peaceful

Wonderful little cottage . Everything worked, we barbequed both nights . Bed was very comfortable. Would reccommend to anyone . Lots of room to walk and wade .

nice little cozy place

Charming little place, very intimate and peaceful with a superb view of the water. There is nothing luxurious but there are plenty of beds, they are comfortable and all the amenities are there. Perfect for families. We really liked it. Beautiful little beach at low tide. All that is missing is a small anti-mosquito shelter to be able to enjoy the terrace in complete tranquility.

Beautiful Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at River Meadow Camp Cottage. The pictures and description completely matched reality. We even saw the heron most days! We have 3 young boys and the cottage suited us perfectly. They loved exploring the beach and playing in the grass. We came in late on the first night and Suzanne was incredibly accommodating. Thanks Suzanne for the wonderful stay!

Perfect for a romantic getaway

The place is absolutely beautiful, the private beach, the cottage, everything was perfect. Watching the sunset near the fire was breath-taking. The cottage is small, but very cute. I would not see a big family staying there since it could get cramped, but it is not beds that are missing! The owner has everything to make your stay comfortable and pleasant (beach accessories were available like boards,noodles, freezbe, and more). We would definetly come back!

Disappointing! Won't Return and Would Never Recommend

Sunsets and view across the river were beautiful and as advertised it was quiet and private. We were booked for 12 nights but left after 8. INFESTED with black ants and earwigs amongst the numerous other disappointments.

A quiet getaway

A beautiful, relaxing, private place to stay. A cozy patio facing the water which made a great place to watch the early mornimg brealth taking . The sunsets was amazing to see. Lots of comfortable longing chairs to relax in. Great place for bomb fires and telaxing with family. Wonderful walks along the sandy beach while tide was out. Excellant place to go on a canoeing adventure with the grandkids. The host was the most beautiful caring person we have ever encountered. A wonderful place to sit back to enjoy the glorious world of PEI. Thank You for a great experience.

Amazing Sunsets

My Mom and I loved staying at this cottage. We liked the quite and privacy. It was so nice to just relax and read a book on the deck while looking at a beautiful view. The pups loved being able to run around. We enjoyed walking on the beach looking for shells. The front rooms of the cottage are cute. The master bedroom has a beautiful view. The old motor home part is the kitchen area. It is rustic, but had everything we needed. And it nice to sit there and drink coffee while watching the sun coming up. The other building had a shower, another bathroom, washer/dryer and a set of bunk beds. We used to camp, so this was a nice step up. Especially to be able to go inside when the mosquitos came out at night :) Miscouche has a couple of good places to eat right up on route 2 , especially breakfast at the convenient store : ) Suzanne was a very friendly and knowledgeable host. We definitely want to come back!!

DIRE Need of Maintenance and Repairs *Watch Your Head!!*

Pros: Kind, Welcoming Hostess Clean accommodations Gorgeous sunset on the river Cabin part with small livingroom and master bedroom is nice Quiet location Pet Friendly Cons: Very uncomfortable bed in Master Bedroom (both nights woke up achy in the middle of the night, unable to get comfortable/back to sleep. Achy the next day.) Extremely low clearance to get into the bus (5 foot opening, max) and to the bathroom (4 foot opening - maybe). I'm 5'9" and needed to bend over at a 90 degree angle to get to the bathroom and could still fell the top frame rub against my back. Getting to the bathroom from the bedroom at 2 AM was almost stressful. ("Watch your head... What your head...") The top of my head also bumped the bus' ceiling in some places. Shingling nails were pointing down at my head (no proper ceiling) in one area. Very narrow walkway in kitchen. No more than 2 feet across. No idea how a couple or a family would get around eachother. No microwave to warm up leftovers. Sunroom : Uneven, cracked, broken tiles; Plastic sheeting for a roof; Door latch that requires considerable force to open. Spilled my dinner trying to open it. No way a small child could open it. Futon mattress on couch has lots of holes and a paint stain. Shed beside bus with bunk beds and other bathroom: Screen door stays wide open; 2 inch gap under main door where bugs can crawl in; water smelled VERY strongly (showered at the next place) Firepit: Chairs with no cushions, just metal bars across them Both picnic tables: paint gone, pieces of wood missing River: Lots of seaweed. Despite 36 degree heat, neighbours' horses only ones in the river. This property has TONS of potential. With some investment and TLC, it could be great. I was really looking forward to staying here, but left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Between the two sleepless nights due to an old? mattress and the constant need to be hunched over, my stay here was very uncomfortable. For this reason, along with the serious risk of repeatedly hitting their head, I would not recommend these accommodations to family and/or friends. Ps If you do choose to stay here: 1) The first house you see when you drive onto the property is Suzanne's house. (I thought Google Maps had sent me to the wrong location.) Keep driving. The Bus-Cabin is further down. 2) These accommodations are out in a rural area, so I'm stating the obvious here: bring bug spray. There are mosquitoes and horse flies.

A quick stay on Prince Edward Island

We were looking for a cottage in the Summerside area for just two nights. River Meadow camp cottage provided what we needed for our short stay.
