Eagle's Nest at Moonshadow Estate Vacation Rental and Wedding Venue

Bedrooms 4
Half Baths2
Space 3,800 sq. ft.
Property type estate
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, sleeps 10. Loft, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 6.

Please Note: The big house is a separate rental from the barn/ loft /cottage wedding venue.

We have a 70 foot long barn, built into a rock cavern, which is ready for weddings or group gatherings in the summer of 2018. The loft has 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a washer and dryer, kitchen and living room. The cavern has a stage and a party is beckoning (wedding venue rates are separate).

The views from this home are stunning. Forget your cares and watch the world go by in Montana's prettiest valley.

There is no place like this friendly home. Its slate floors and tall ceilings will welcome you. Its five decks will relax you. You are just a step away from heaven.

You want to play? This home overlooks what we call the Happy Valley. There is one trail-head after another that leads to sparkling rivers and emerald lakes. Superb hiking from the doorstep. The valley is a playground; horseback riding, hunting, swimming, fishing, golfing, and shopping.

Big horn sheep have been known to walk up on deck. If you are looking for privacy our 156 acres are bordered on three sides by state land. You can stroll forever. But be careful, you may see lions and tigers and bears, just kidding... elk and deer.

The home is light and airy, with over 3,800 square feet of living space. Did I say it has solar and wind generator just in case the grid has a hick-up?

You will not want to leave. We'll let the pictures and referrals tell the rest of the story.

About Tim or Elaine Day

We had a blast in building our house - 20 years ago. And are presently excited about our new wedding/event venue.

Why Tim or Elaine Day chose Stevensville

With three sides state land the property allows no end of privacy. If you are looking for openness and spaciousness and a feeling of freedom, this is it.

We have a barn for events or weddings with side walls that are natural rock. You can plan your wedding from the top of hills that overlook the valley to top of ravines that finger out, one after another. These locations will make you feel like you are on top of the world.

What makes this estate unique

One of our guests said, 'Your house is like a cruise ship that landed atop a mountain.'

At night I you can see the lights of the entire valley, from Hamilton in the south, to Victor in the west, to Stevensville and Florence in the north.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I spent one week in the Bitterroot Valley in October of 2004 and stayed at the Eagle's Nest. The Bitterroot Valley is one of the prettiest places on earth. We thoroughly enjoyed the day trips exploring this beautiful valley but the highlight of each day was coming back to the house. We both found that we were looking forward to getting back to the house at the end of the day to relish one of the best views anywhere in one of the most perfect homes we have ever been privileged to enjoy. We finished our stay by trying to buy this wonderful home and land from Tim, but to no avail. You will enjoy staying here.Kenny Dockery,Sr. Vice President & CFOThe United Company,1005 Glenway Avenue Bristol, Va. 24201Phone(276) 645-1447 FAX(276) 645-1437 CELL(423)534-8311

Eagle's Nest was absolutely wonderful. We were up on top of a high peak with a stunning view. The home was gorgeous. Lots of spacious rooms including several bedrooms with lots of privacy. It was so relaxing to be able to sit out on one of three balconies and appreciate the view. It was very clean. The owner was extremely friendly. He was a phone call away if we needed him, however everything ran so smoothly we never had to call.

We would return without hesitation. Great vacation home!

We had such a wonderful time at the Eagle's Nest this summer . We stayed for 7 nights during the end of June and beginning of July . There was plenty of room for my husband and I and our seven children. The house is absolutely stunning . I loved the decorating and all of the large windows with incredible views . The owner Tim was so kind . He gave us some Elk meat that I cooked up according to his recipe . It turned out so delicious we all enjoyed it so much . Thank you Tim . We spent our days hiking, wading in the Bitterroot River , rafting and kayaking on the Blackfoot River . But I mostly enjoyed relaxing on the balcony of the Eagle's Nest at taking in all the gorgeous views of the Bitterroot Mountains.

The cozy "Nest"

  • 4 of 5

Our overall response is very positive. Unfortunately, we were so busy with the daughter's wedding we did not get a chance to enjoy the quiet and glorious view of the Bitterroot Valley. The kitchen was a DREAM and so fun to work in. I would recommend this VRBO to those who want (or can), take time to sit and appreciate the panoramic view of this incredible valley.

We stayed for 3 nights in July so that we could attend our niece's wedding at a nearby wedding venue. Having a beautiful home we could share made it a wonderful weekend. The views were outstanding and we especially enjoyed coffee in the mornings looking out over the valley and wine on the balcony at night watching the stars.
