The place looked exactly as it did in the pictures. It was well stocked with everything you could want. The fire was all stacked and ready to light, and the heat pump had the temperature most welcoming in the Winter. Monique was great with her contact and we were well and timely informed about everything. Would love to come back in a Summer to enjoy the deck and BBQ facilities.

A relaxing spot with a beautiful backyard of native bush containing an abundance of bird life and relaxing sounds of a nearby stream. Well catered for kids with table tennis, swing ball and a hidden tree fort. Although BEWARE of the grumpy neighbour. Was very unfriendly and took great dislike to our children venturing through the bush at the FAR back of his property to access the river. Has since erected a fence to stop this from happening.

Thanks for your review Karla and we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, despite venturing across the neighbour's property. Sounds like a very peaceful piece of paradise and we hope to welcome you back soon - Tracy
With this house you get an awful lot of dampness along side all the wonders of a beautiful bush setting, and fantastic morning bird song. There are dehumidifiers downstairs that barely take the edge off the appalling damp, moldy smell down where the lower bedrooms are. Even the upstairs bedroom was more musty than I would expect for a quality bach. When we arrived the hot water hadnt been turned on, and its really hard to get someone from Bachcare to answer the phone, so it took a while to get hold of them so they could contact the local property manager, who came around as soon as he was contacted, with the key to the hot water cupboard (but this was a couple of days after we arrived). I really didnt want to give this property a bad review, because it clearly has much to offer (the upstairs open-plan space is perfect), but I would never stay here again. Maybe in the middle of Summer its ok, but it did not rain while we were staying there, and the dampness in the lower two bedrooms remained constant even though we kept trying to air it out.
A good summer house. Bit wet, damp and cold. Went home early.

Great for bush and bird lovers
The area is so filled with native bush, we heard birds every day and a large kereru sat in a nearby tree.
A lovely quiet community with great walks. A nice house with everything you need:
The house gets cold in winter, and while it was fine upstairs, the downstairs room had power issues - the fuse kept blowing due to having heaters on, so one of the rooms was too cold overnight. I would suggest it needs a new fuse box. Until then something has to be done to allow for heating the downstairs bedroom, and every room should have a working smoke alarm due to the older wiring.
The property was in a great location for the things we wanted to do. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and it was a cozy place to spend evenings.
There were two bedrooms downstairs which were cold, felt a bit damp and were quite dark. Also the place was smaller than we expected from the photographs and the fact that it sleeps 8. Would be a squash for 8 people.
Generally though, it was a great spot and we had a fabulous time.

Such a beautiful spacious bach situated in a secluded corner between the trees. Neat and tidy with everything you need for cooking and BBQ. Wonderful to settle down for the evening with a glass of wine in front of the fireplace.

A warm property, as the heating is superb.
A warm property, as the heating is superb. The combination of the heat pump, fire place, fan heaters and sunshine streaming meant it was a warm and comfortable property. Extremely well equipped. Great kitchen. A bit of a walk to the lake, but manageable. Near to a bush walk. Very private, with wonderful bush views and bird life was amazing too. An outstanding property.

A lovely comfortable house and perfect for our family of 4.
A lovely comfortable house and perfect for our family of 4. Nice and private, tucked away down a right of way in the bush. Heaps of tuis and belllbirds. Up the hill from the lake, but there's a nice walk through the bush at the end of the driveway that takes you down. Very thoughtfully kitted out for guests.
