After a long and tiresome ride we were welcomed by Sasha's smile. At once we felt at home. Robin came to check whether we were okay. And we felt safe. Wonderful hosts who had provided us with a starting packet of food, including their own wine!We could always address them, they were there, modest and helpful. Wallace, the dog, completed the friendly atmosphere.
How free we were in 'our' Vine House, how deeply we could breathe among the fields. How we enjoyed the clean pool, the wide garden, the healthy environment, the gorgeous skies, the cosy villages and glorious cities in the region.
While other tourists suffered from a cold and rainy France, we lived in a kind of micro climate between two rivers that drove the clouds away, so Robin explained. We ate outside, barbecued, swam, went sightseeing or just read a book under a blue sky. THE place to be, obviously!
On the domain we visited 'le chai' (the winery) where Robin told us all about wine-making. And we tasted the owners' marvellous wines.
Our stay at the Vine House offered more than the description promised. A clean and well-equipped gite, the friendliest hosts, a unique nature and culture, peace and quiet. Everything highly recommendable. Thanks, Sasha and Robin!
