About this property

Location , Pets, Parks and Recreation

This 1916 house on the hill is conveniently located near downtown Akron , the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (6 miles/11 min drive) and the Blossom Music Center (8 miles/15 min drive). Street exits directly off highway Rt. 8 North and South making for an easy drive to Cleveland, Canton, and Cuyahoga Falls. . Memorial Parkway Trailhead and BARC Dog Park 2 min. drive/ 12 min. walk. Pet Friendly, Pet Fees do Apply. $25 per day/per day 1 pet Maximum.

This is an older home with lots of charm. Our home isn't newly constructed. So we ask that you expect some things to be imperfect. For example the floors and steps may creek, you may have to give drawers and cabinets an extra pull or push. But all of these things can be expected considering the age of the house. We like to call it character.

The driveway is on a hill, so if your vehicle is low to the ground, cut your wheels when pulling in and out of the driveway to avoid scraping spoiler due to the slope of the drive. Be cautions of traffic and pedestrians when backing out. There is room for two large cars.

Due to the proximity of the house to downtown, there is a steady flow of traffic until about 6pm nightly during the week.

Guest agree to hold harmless the host and property owner of any liability as a result of a pet on the premises or use of the property and its contents. Mature non aggressive dogs under 50 lbs. No pets allowed on furnishings or beds. Any sign of excessive hair on the furnishings and bedding will be a violation of the house rules and may result in the loss of your security deposit as well as an additional cleaning fee of (up to $250).
Clean after pet. We charge $25 Per pile of feces that we pick up from the yard after your stay.

We hope that you enjoy the beautiful green surroundings of the house. Enjoy an outdoor lunch at the shared picnic area with grill while watching the cars go down the hill.

Absolutely, no smoking, drugs parties or illegal activity on the property.

What a great stay!
The location is ideal, near many trails, restaurants, and microbreweries. The owners are very kind and provide a very clean and safe home to share with others. The water cooler in the dining room is a big plus, especially after nice long hikes on one of the nearby trails. My daughter and her family live in the area, and we had plenty of space to visit in the living room and share some meals in the dining room. The most favorable thing I can say about my stay is this: I look forward to coming back!

Weekend stay
The house was as advertised, old but has character. The house is well decorated and we appreciated the extra touches like mints by the door, q-tips, cotton balls and floss sticks in the bathroom and spices in the kitchen. The driveway is a bit tricky, as it is steep and easy to bottom out on. The neighbors were playing music very loudly one night into the early morning, which is no fault of the owner, but definitely affected our sleep. There is no central air, 2 of the bedrooms have window AC units, which were great, but the 3rd bedroom did not, so keep that in mind if you plan to use it for sleep, as it was pretty warm. Otherwise, we had a good experience.
