A Southern styled vintage house, authentically from the 40's that has been renovated to have both a mix of today's modern life with a vintage layout and charms. Newly and fully renovated, a great high 9 ft.+ ceiling three bedrooms, two full bathroom historical house with large front covered porch furnished with rocking chairs, bench, dining table with chairs, and lots outdoor sitting area. It has two cars garage at alley with fenced back yard for easy access to the house without walking on the stairs at front. Large living room with wood burning fireplace, beautiful formal dining room and fully equipped large kitchen and bath. Cleaning hardwood floors throughout. It had two queen bedrooms share full bathroom in the hall, master bedroom has King bed with attached private bathroom, lots spacious closet space in each bedroom. Bed and bath linens provided, smart TV, wifi, etc.This is a very nice, clean, and fully equipped-furnished house. A chance for at-home feel for the price of a hotel.
Hotel like treatment:
- Beautiful and comfortable bed sheets, pillows, duvets.
- Three size towels, bathrobes, Everyday soap for Everybody 3 in 1, hair dryers, etc provided.
- Fully equipped kitchen with dish washer, microwave, toaster, Keurig one cup coffee maker, 12 cups drip coffee maker, blender, cookware, paper towels, trash bags, etc.

We regret to learn that your experience with us fell short of your expectations, as indicated by your 8/10-star rating. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we take it seriously. I remembered you have contacted us regarding not enough hot water from master bedroom bathtub faucet. I assumed you referred to this issue. It was because you did not know how to to turn the faucet in the correct setting to get hot water. I have not heard from you in your rest of stay after I instructed you to turn the faucet correctly and you did reply that everything was fine, not plumber needed. We also double check the faucet to make sure it did run hot water after you checked out. I am sorry you felt our home was dated, we said it clearly on the listing to ask all guests read our listing before booking. It also said that this was a vintage home that we have totally renovated. However, we like to keep part of vintage charms in the house instead of completely remove them because we love it and it was loved by many guests we have hosted in the past 10 years. It seems this home is not a good fit for you and I do hope you can check out our other homes on vrbo for your future stay.

Safe and pleasant stay

Communication with Suzy was great. House was beautifully old yet updated. Neighborhood felt very safe and was nicely quiet. Added bonus to be able to park in private detached garage. All the touristy places we visited were within 20 min drive of the house. Definitely recommend.

RTJ Golf Trip

4 friends from Michigan came to Alabama to play the Robert Trent Jones golf trail. The house we rented was a perfect location to Oxmoor Valley and Ross Bridge. The house was very clean and in a really great location. House had tons of character and had a very large kitchen which we used every morning for breakfast. The outside patio is what sold us. It’s a beautiful wrap around porch. We were out there every evening after golf to unwind with a drink and laughter. I highly recommend this location. It was a great stay!!

Owner neglected to be honest about the handicap challenges of this property. My daughter and I walked in the door and left after 10 minutes and checked into a hotel. When I questioned the owner/manager about this terrible omission her suggestion was "I can come over and help you into the house". Hardly the point. The front door offers a steep flight of steps up to front porch. And that is pictured but the real way to access is the house is in the back, down a dark alley. Once you park in the alley you must navigate uneven ground on a slope in the backyard and crooked steps etc to get inside. My 50 yr old daughter said we are not staying here because it is just a matter of time before I fall in this challenging space. I am also a manager/owner of a property on VRBO and the first sentence in our property description is "not handicap accessible". The owner/manager will not offer any refund or financial accommodation for this lapse in honesty.

Hi Mikey:Thank you for taking your time to review us. I do apologize if you felt we did not handle your cancelation properly. Our property pictures and descriptions are clearly shows the front stairs. Our back ally is not dark because it is open air street, however if you drive in the ally at night time, it will be dark just like on the street. Most importantly it also listed clearly "NOT handicap accessible". If you have told us about your handicap situation prior you book our property, we would have told you not to book it. We were completely not aware of your handicap situation since it was never provided to us until we read this review. This is not a fair and honest review on us.

RTJ Golf Trip

Like others we booked the house as our lodging for Oxmoor Valley and Ross Bridge golf courses. The house was clean and well kept in a quiet residential neighborhood. One curve ball was we needed to log in to our own streaming service to watch network and local tv. Overall a quality lodging experience for us. I would go back again!

Look no further if you are coming to Birmingham...stay here!!

Three of us came to Birmingham to play golf at the Robert Trent courses. The house was exactly as listed....clean, everything needed for cooking, three nice bedrooms, close to the airport and downtown, and, the best part was the porch. After golf we would sit out there and have some snacks and beverages. We cooked all our meals but in driving around we noticed the house was close to many restaurants. David and Suzy (the owners) were immediately available from the booking process to throughout the stay. When we come back to Birmingham, we will be staying here again!!!

Charming rental in safe neighborhood

We really enjoyed spending the weekend in this home. Loved the big covered front porch with lots of chairs and a table, the very well-equipped kitchen and having a two car garage off the back alley. The home had a lot of charm but was updated and comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay there again!!!

Our overall experience was nice! Quiet neighborhood. Just make sure you read the owners manual. It was my fault I didn’t read it, so we couldn’t use the washer and dryer to do our laundry. Susie offer to do it for us but it was ok.

The house was centrally located for for our drive to your relatives. It provided what we needed for our short stay. It was clean, well organized, and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the front porch which allow me and my sister to have quiet talks outside. The neighborhood was clean and quiet for early morning Yoga on the porch :-)

Beautiful home for our quick get away

My friend and I were in Birmingham with our husbands for elective surgery. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and fit our needs to a T. We did have a minor setback with power not being on due to a storm when we first arrived but David and Suzy were quick to respond and get us taken care of. We will definitely be back when we have more time to explore and enjoy more of the city.
