Amazing hosts, amazing home, amazing view...needed another week in God's Country "South".

We can't say enough good things about our stay in this lovely home. Everything was spacious and clean, well appointed in every aspect without being pretentious. A REAL Texas experience. The long horn cattle grazing just off the back patio are a visual feast. They provided a much needed calming affect to a very busy time for us. Friends and family that dropped by for a visit were delighted, as we were, with the comfort and tranquility of the estate. It is a respite for the weary of mind and body while still being a springboard for activity and conversation. One of our visitors was so impressed that he intends to use this lovely place for an executive training event and a family reunion. The BEST element of our visit was Scott, the owner-operator. He was accommodating and gracious, always pleasant and thoughtful. Our ONLY regret is that we could not stay longer and we do not know when we will return to Texas. If we do return, it will be to "God's Country", because that is what this home is. Thank- you Scott we had a lovely time. It will be a treasured memory for all of us. Ken and Linda and friends

Owner's Response: What an amazing treat to meet so many sweet people. Linda... (aka Nana) and her wonderful family are what makes being a "landlord" worth the effort. I hope some day to have you return, as well, I would love to see your version of "God's Country of the North". :) You have inspired us to hone our "events" hosting skills to accommodate future wedding gatherings.

Hated to leave and we will be back!

Wonderful property. Pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful acres of rolling hills with majestic longhorns and funny donkeys. The furniture is pure Texas elegance set in very spacious and comfortable rooms with amazing views. The Scott and his lovely family welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Hated to leave and we will be back.

Outstanding Home and Host

  • 5 of 5

I am almost hesitant to write this review since I do not want other people booking this place up! A group of six women stayed at the ranch last Monday and Tuesday night during Antiques Week. Most of us had never been to Round Top and after we saw the property, we were pretty convinced that we could just hang out there and blow off the Antiques Fair. The property is immaculate. The beds are super comfortable, great A/C (which is important to me), and room for everyone to spread out. The outside porch view was fantastic and watching and learning about the longhorn cattle and the donkeys was an extra plus. The host, Scott was super helpful, flexible, and welcoming. The fact that he lived next door and was very reachable was a big source of comfort for a bunch of women out in the middle of nowhere. I highly recommend this place and we all thought it would be worth coming back just to enjoy the property again.

Owner's Response: Thank you, very much for the gracious review. I have been blessed with some of the nicest renters, which makes being a "vacation landlord" all worth doing. I certainly hope to see y'all again, whether it is for Antique Festival or just plain relaxing.

A perfect place to stay with family.

A beautiful warm welcoming home. You have all the creature comforts you have in your own home. Just step outside and see a Texas morning sunrise with nature singing. Or enjoy the stars at night with a full moon. The owners hospitality, warmth, and attention to detail was appreciated.

Car: necessary

Antique Weekends in Round Top. For 3 weeks and twice per year, Spring and Fall, antiques from around the world are amassed for shoppers to partake in a "shop until you drop" event. The square of Round Top is less than 20 miles away and you will pass miles of antiques to get there from here.

BP MS-150 goes right through our little town of Fayetteville at the close of day 1. This happens just a short 4 miles from the house. Plus, many additional bicycling events are held in the area, as well as the training events, and time trials that occur right in front of the house!
