Ground Floor Apartment with 20m private, enclosed key-access-only pool in front

Two bedroom, 1 bathroom ground floor apartment with air conditioning, balcony and sun terrace. The private, communal 20m pool is directly in front of apartment (electronic card access only), with a second pool (electronic tag access) and adjacent bar & restaurant 200m away, right by the sandy beach. A children's play area, crazy golf, free tennis courts and basketball court are next to the beachside pool. The apartment is part of a small urbanisation of privately owned houses and apartments with a number of restaurants, on the banks of the Mar Menor, Europe's largest salt water lagoon. The Mar is accessed via a boardwalk, with very shallow, warm water year round.
The apartment is fully furnished, with a washing machine and dishwasher. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO WIFI; enjoy a digital detox!
Los Urrutias village, with a supermarket, general shops and restaurants is a 10 minute walk away. A 25 min drive from Corvera Murcia airport or 50 minutes from Alicante airport, there are also numerous golf courses nearby with La Manga resort 10 mins drive away. Ideal for windsurfing and kite-surfing (with a dedicated space, separate from the swimming area, on the private beach), there is also a sailing school available near by. This is a very quiet resort; probably not one to bring your teenagers to if they are looking for nightlife!
The Mediterranean Sea is a 15 minute drive away, with either sandy beaches and waves on La Manga strip or the stony coves and great snorkelling of Cabo De Palos to choose from. Calblanque National Park is also an easily accessible 10 minute drive, with totally unspoilt beaches (including a nudist area for those keen on an all-over tan). Historic Cartagena with its Roman amphitheatre in the centre of town is 20 minutes away and has numerous festivals throughout the year including an excellent world music festival in June/July.
Don’t miss the Easter celebrations in the region, including L’entierro de la sardina in Murcia and various Moros y cristianos festivals in September.

Great holiday house with swimming pool

Great holiday house which is well equipped. Two swimming pools which are great. Only negative point is that the beach is not a swimming beach. It’s a bay which is knee high with an algae infestation so not suitable for swimming. There are some lovely swimming and snorkelling beaches within a 15 min drive.

Thank you for your review. Hopefully the plans to clear up the Mar Menor will eventually work and in the meantime the boardwalk does at least allow access to the sea, avoiding the algae.

The apartment was not clean well there was a lot of cockroaches outside and inside. There was no oven that we could cook on and we got a eye infection from the bedsheets. The air condition was dripping water so we coulden’t use the air conditioner the hole trip.

Dear Monir. I am sorry that you were unhappy with the apartment. If you had let me know there were problems whilst you were staying, I could have tried to resolve them for you. The apartment has a hob and a microwave grill. There is no oven and that is clearly indicated in the property details. The apartment is surrounded by fields and unfortunately that does mean that there will sometimes be cockroaches around. They will then occasionally get into the apartment and so I have ensured there is Cucal cockroach repellent available for any future guests. The cleaner noticed that the aircon was leaking on the day after you departed. I therefore arranged for an engineer to come out and it turned out that instead of being set to aircon, the unit had been switched to dehumidify. Switching it back to aircon immediately resolved the problem. BW Tabitha

Pas de climatisation dans les chambres, beaucoup de bruit travaux a l etage supérieur, piscine pas tant prive que cela beaucoup trop de monde,trop de bruit impossible de se reposer.Beaucoup de gros cafards qui nous on dégoûtée du séjour car notre fille en a eu très peur en ouvrant sa boite de céréales et il en avait dedans...AUcun resrau internet faire autant de kilomètres (nous sommes de Paris)pour ce retrouver dans cette situation c'est triste.Je bai pas pu contacter le gérant car malheureusement pas d internet.

I am sorry you were unhappy with your stay. The advert clearly states that there is only one air con unit in the apartment, which is enough to keep the entire place cool if the windows and external door are kept shut, particularly when the internal fans are used as well. The swimming pool is shared with the other apartments and so will be busy in peak holiday season, which is the case in August. The apartment is located next to fields and so inevitably, there will be some insects that come on to the terrace. Again, if the external door is kept shut, they should not come into the apartment but the occasional one may get through. Finally, the advert also does state that there is no WiFi. Since roaming charges for data are usually the same across the EU as in the host country, this is not usually a problem for calls etc. Most of the local cafes have public WiFi access, as do the major shopping centres if necessary. Having a digital detox for a couple of weeks is not a bad idea…

Apartamento con aire acondicionado que perdía agua, cocina poco limpia y con cucarachas.Problemas que se solucionaron después de nuestra llegada menos las cucarachas que vivimos con ellas hasta que nos fuimos.Tabitha preocupada por arreglar la situación pero entendemos que a nuestra llegada el apartamento ya tendría que estar en perfectas condiciones

A sido unas vacaciones de 6 noches todo perfecto,el apartamento tiene de todo incluso hamacas, sillas de playa,bicicleta,flotadores.... Hemos estado igual que en casa muy acogedor,la piscina enfrente,tiene un buen horario puedes estar hasta las 11 de la noche. Y la ubicación es muy buena y tranquila a pocos metros de la playa,con el coche estás en la manga a pocos minutos todo es cercano,no tengo queja ninguna para mí es un apartamento de 10

Nos dejan las llaves a recoger en un bar, encontramos basura de inquilinos anteriores dentro,estando ya instalados entraron sin abisar ni pedir permiso a dejar unas mantas(menudo susto). Cucarachas en terraza e interior del piso,hablamos con la dueña y no nos dio solución,la playa cercana imposible el baño (llena de algas y fango) tienes que desplazarte a la más cercana a 10 kilómetros. Muy mala experiencia

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. The apartment should have been fully cleaned before your arrival, so I have taken this up with our local agents and I apologise wholeheartedly that rubbish was left. This was not something raised in our many communications during your stay. As the apartment is in the countryside, insects will come on to the terrace but there are no cockroaches in the apartment. We provided insecticide to kill them as soon as concerns were raised but it is not possible to get rid of them completely. The beach has been badly affected by overuse of chemicals in the fields around the Mar Menor and the floods in 2019-20. This has been recognised as an environmental concern at a European level and the boardwalk installed by the local authorities does allow access to the sea avoiding mud and algae. The more people who complain to local and national government about the Mar, the better, as maybe something will finally be done. Unfortunately, wildlife and the state of the beach are things which are outside my control.

Location agréable, l'équipement gagnerait à être rénové/changé car fatigué dans l'ensemble ( surtout arrivée d'eau chaude !, frigo qui fuit par moments ). Belle piscine mais pas du tout adaptée aux enfants : profonde partout. Le village alentours est très calme, résidentiel. Déçus par la plage attenante qui s'est avérée être un marais en formation ( boue qui se dépose et a envahi le sable ! ), et donc baignade impossible. Une voiture est indispensable pour pouvoir trouver des plages correctes plus loin et une certaine animation .

Sorry that you did not find the inside of the apartment comfortable. The size of the TV is clearly shown on the pictures of the apartment and the advert does state that there is no WiFi. This is why the price of the rental is kept low. There is WiFi available in the local cafes and restaurants for those desperate to keep connected...:-)

Ideal para pasar unos días en família. Los niños disfrutaron mucho y el lugar tranquilo y cerca de la Manga donde está todo el ambiente. Cerca de la playa y con la piscina a 10 pasos se hizo muy agradable y divertido. El apartamento muy acogedor y limpio, hasta nos dejaron algunos objetos de playa para los peques.

La estancia buena pero mejorable

Estuve con mi familia del 3-10/9/2017 El aparcamiento estaba muy limpio ,la ubicación era alejada pero buena y tranquila El problema es que la casa tiene cucarachas dentro de la los conductos de ventilación,al igual que los alrededores de la finca,pasillos,piscina ,etc El primer día nos encontramos una cucaracha en la entrada y otra en el dormitorio,ambas estaban muertas ,pero el segundo día nos encontramos otra viva en el baño,está se había colado por el conducto de ventilación,que tuvimos que tapar , Lo pusimos en conocimiento de la persona de contacto que nos dio el propietario y está nos dijo que fumigan de continuo ,pero es claramente insuficiente Está propiedad no debería de alquilarse hasta erradicar este problema Además de varios problemas más aunque no tan graves, como la TV,cortinas rotas, etc

Apartment Review

This apartment is prefect for a relaxing holiday. 20m pool on your doorstep and a bar/restaurant just around the corner. The beach is only a five minute walk away. The apartment is just outside the town of Los Urrutias, but in saying that, it is only five minutes walk to the supermarket. There are two other bar/restaurants with a stones throw. I will definitely go back there again.

We have owned this apartment since 2004 and holiday regularly there. Even when our children were teenagers, they still found plenty to do whilst we were there. We hope you enjoy staying in our family holiday apartment as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Good beach for water sports (husband is keen kite surfer) yet perfectly safe for the rest of the family. A comparatively little known area of Spain that is easily accessible from most UK airports using budget airlines.
Every time we go, we discover a new part that we haven't visited before. And a great base to explore Spain a little more widely.

What makes this property unique

Very convenient for the beach, with a pool directly in front of the apartment if you're not keen on sand. There is a second pool and tennis courts for use only by local residents 300m away. Five excellent value restaurants within a few minutes walk from the apartment. Area not widely known by UK tourists - small local expat community means that quiz night is available if that's your thing, but easy to avoid if it's not.
