Outstanding villa

Excellent villa in an outstanding location. Villa has everything you need, even 2 dishwashers. Heated pool is awesome and very toddler friendly. 2 great outdoor eating areas, 1 with a BBQ. I would recommend a car as the beach is a little further away than the photos appear to show it. The views over the lagoon are spectacular and the beach has to be one of the best in Portugal. You will struggle to find a more idyllic location to enjoy a holiday with family and friends. Carlos responds very quickly to any queries and the car hire and taxi services he recommends are first class.

Superb modern villa with amazing views

Walking group of 8 adults. Oct 2015. The group have hired many villas over the past 20 years and this is probably the best of them all. The villa has panoramic views and a 15m swimming pool heated to at least 29C. The facilities were complete as described, with ample hot water available at all times, a kitchen which was well equipped for group catering and a BBQ outside which worked well. The owner quickly sorted an internet reception problem and other minor issues which occurred during our stay. There are a number of shady areas in the garden but we would suggest that more shade could be provided near the pool. Finally may we thank Carlos for his attention and consideration during our stay. Enjoyable stay

We are the Brazilian family; Inês and Vinicius, with our 4 children, Eduarda, Lucas, Frederico, Madalena, our 3 grandparents, that stayed in your villa for 2 weeks of July / 2008 and we want to say how much we enjoyed our stay in your house. It's a millionaires dream place ! In effect the luxury and standards are so high that we must confess it was painful for us to leave the villa to daily outside activities. The home has everything we may dream to have, in order to relax and enjoy. Pool, gardens, children playground, and so many other items are just fantastic. Our children found a paradise there; even now they keep speaking about your villa...we will have to return. The place is tranquil, relaxing, beautiful; in a brief, absolutely superb; we were not expecting so much. Location is magnificent; within 1 km we could enjoy the natural asset of Obidos Lagoon, a very suitable beach for children and on the opposite side, the village centre. We so much enjoyed our walks on the beautiful, long deserted beaches... The nearby mediaeval city of Obidos and the whole region, are so nicely kept in our memories. The weather was magnificent throughout our stay and we are left with fond rememberings of our family reunion. Thanks again for your help in making our stay so enjoyable.' A great home in a great location!

We were a group of 10 from Canada/US that always rents a villa for our vacations in Europe. This was a great home and was exactly as described and photo'd. The property is clean and well maintained with good security. There is lots of parking for multiple vehicles. The owner welcomed us at the villa and walked us through everything we would need to know. He also left us with a wonderful welcome package of foods, fruits and wine to get us through our first day! He was also easily available to contact if we had any issues or questions. This property easily accommodates 5 couples and there is lots of room for children. The 5 bedrooms all had a private bathroom which makes travelling with a large group that much easier. The property offers up lots of fun. 10+ bikes for rides to the beach and around the area, (there are a few hills!) an outdoor games room and playground. Pool and property is designed to be very safe for young children. The pool is great and has lounge chairs for 10-12. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked our dinners most evenings. There is a lovely outdoor wood fired BBQ and eating area where we ate most nights. The pool is heated, wood supplied for the BBQ, air conditioning units in each room -- with no additional charges attached. The beach in Foz is amazing. The Atlantic side has spectacular beaches but the swimming is rough and cold and not for everyone. But the lagoon is very, very large and has wonderful beach areas and swimming for even the smallest child. We enjoyed many restaurants at the beach for lunch and dinner. Our best meal out was at The Vintage Club in Foz do Arelho. A very nice spot with great tapas style food and wine -- best to make reservations for dinner. The lagoon area also had a water sports rental club for sailing, wind surfing, paddle boards, canoes and lots of other water activities at inexpensive rates. The villa bathrooms were cleaned for us mid week (we were there for 7 days) with a change of towels. Our only wish would be to have a few more towels and linens in the kitchen -- but we experience this everywhere in Europe. Beach towels for everyone are also supplied but worth bringing a few extra along. We would definitely recommend this villa for a large group travelling together and found it very affordable. The area around Foz do Arelho was also very affordable for groceries and dining out. Compared to other rentals we considered in the area -- this was by far the best! Thank you Carlos!

Wat een mooi huis. Met een prachtig uitzicht op een mooi locatie en een royale huiskamer. Met het geluid van de Atlantische Oceaan in de verte. De kleinkinderen hebben genoten van de leuke speeltuin en wij allemaal van het heerlijke zwembad. En de keuken is goed ingericht voor zo’n grote groep. Een kindvriendelijk huis en zwembad, kortom prima huis om de vakantie door te brengen. .

Great villa

The villa provided a great environment for the whole family. The pool and facilities for young children are excellent and the view is superb. We had many competitions on the crazy golf and table tennis!! Perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We would have no hesitation in staying again.

Exceeded our expectations

A lovely villa which exceeded our expectations, a very spacious well equipped villa. The villa is as described spacious inside and out, the pool is superb lovely and warm with fantastic views. The owner Carlos welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. We all enjoyed our holiday and will certainly be back.

A wonderful week at this gorgeous villa

The villa is extremely well equipped for the whole family and very child safety orientated. We were very impressed with the safety around the pool area and the fish pond. Our grandchildren had so much to do and cried when we left! Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the main lounge was a great place for the whole family to get together. Carlos the owner was very helpful and gave us good local information and was always happy to be contacted with any queries. We had a fabulous week at this beautiful place and would love a return visit sometime.

Outstanding lagoon/sea view just outside village. House is modernly furnished throughout. So disabled friendly. So much space inside and out. Extras galore with bikes, crazy golf course, solar heated swimming pool (even in Feb not too cold) etc etc.... Helpful host with local info and even posted back a piece of luggage that we left behind. Perfect for the 12 of us to get away from it all.

Great villa with a stunning view

We (6 adults and 4 small kids) stayed at Casa do Lago for 2 weeks. And we loved everything: the villa, the large bedrooms, the pool (area), the kids playground and of course the stunning view at the Laguna do Obidos. The children loved the pool and stayed in there for hours all because the water temperature is so good (31º+). When the children were in bed we spend the evenings around the BBQ to prepare our meals and to sit around the fire with a good glass of (local!!) wine. And if you have a question then Carlos will respond immediate. All and all we had a great holiday at a wonderful villa.

Fabulous Villa - spectacular views

We were a family of 8 adults (one wheelchair user) and 2 babies who arrived at the Villa on Saturday afternoon to be greeted by the owner Carlos who welcomed us all. He had kindly put some milk, butter, cheese, cold meats and yoghurts in the fridge, fruit on the table and left beer and wine for us too. As we drove down the drive to the Villa we were stunned by the views and were delighted that the first impressions were indeed as good as the video we had seen on line. The villa is very well maintained, the en-suite bedrooms are all large with fantastic views over the Lagoon and beyond out to the Atlantic. Carlos had arranged for a hoist and electric bed for the accessible suite on the ground floor which had a bedroom and bathroom that were both spacious enough for my husband's electric wheelchair. The property is perfect for a large family or group of friends and fantastic for wheelchair users. The Villa was very comfortable, very clean, and had a well equipped kitchen and laundry room (needed with small ones). The dining and sitting room has fantastic views across the lagoon. There were bikes, helmets (2 baby seats on bikes) in the garage which also saw many games of table tennis played. The pool had a hoist for getting my husband into the clean, very warm water. The pool area is surrounded by a glass safely barrier and had a children’s swimming area within the pool itself. It was lovely to swim and look over the lagoon. The villa has a BBQ, crazy golf, small indoor gym, small outdoor gym, hammocks, children's play area and plenty of outside space. In short the Villa was home from home. The beach is a short drive from the Villa and there are restaurants and food shopping within a short driving distance too. This property is an ideal holiday location for a large group especially with a disabled member amongst them. Can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic wheelchair accessible villa

I am a wheelchair user and we had found it difficult to find an appropriate villa for a large family holiday. Having come across Casa do Lago we had high expectations which were surpassed. The view is spectacular and everyone loved the pool. The villa is well appointed and Carlos is a great host. The wheelchair access is great- the ground floor step free and bathroom worked well. We are already planning our next trip!

The Perfect Family Retreat

What a fantastic place to stay in the sun. Everything you could wish for has been considered. The layout lends itself perfectly to holidaying with small children. The glass fences around the pool, and the wonderful play area mean that you never need to leave the villa to keep the kids entertained. The stylish interior and fantastic bathroom facilities mean that your stay can be luxurious and relaxing too. Carlos is so helpful and on hand at all times. Couldn't be more pleased!!

Luxury villa, heated pool, amazing views

Perfect locationand to wake up every morning to those views made my holiday very special. The villa was very clean and well maintained. The pool area and surrounding gardens were very child freindly and so were perfect for my 2 young grandchildren to play in. The kitchen facilities had every gadget you could think of. Bedrooms were very spacious with plenty of storage. The only downside to this property is that you do need a hire car to get about, as the local amenities are not within walking distance. I can only think of one thing to make this holiday even more luxurious than it was, it would be to have an outdoor Jaccuzzi/Hot Tub. Carlos offered excellent customer service and we could not fault his assistance in anything we asked of him. If you are looking for a luxury holiday, then I would definitely reccomend this villa.

Fantastic Holiday

This is the second time that we stayed in Casa do Lago. There were 9 of us ranging from 70 to 8 years old. As in the previous year we all had a brilliant time. The house is lovely to stay in and has all you need regarding facilities and appliances - even UK TV channels which enabled us to watch the end of the Olympics. It is home from home. Outside there are great facilities including the beautifully warm swimming pool. We all had a great time and were sad to leave. All the children enjoyed windsurfing on the lagoon which is warm and totally safe, only a very short drive from the house.

Breathtaking !

We had a fantastic stay at Casa do Lago at the end of February through the beginning of March. We were there with our two children, ages 2 and 4, for whom the villa was an absolute paradise. The kids played every morning on the playground while the adults lay in the hammocks admiring the breathtaking views of the lagoon. The villa was beautiful and well-maintained, inside and out. The villa is also well-positioned to visit many beautiful areas. We made day trips to Obidos, Sintra, Nazare, and Caldas da Rainha. Obidos was lovely, Sintra a bit farther afield but absolutely not to be missed--we went back twice and could have spent even more time there exploring the primeval forests and stunning castles. Nazare had a lovely beach but otherwise seemed a little touristy for my tastes, but the drive there along the coast was lovely, and we made a stop at the beautiful Sao Martinho do Porto on the way. Parking was a little tricky in Caldas, but the big park there was beautiful, with a wonderful playground for the kids--definitely worth a visit. Foz was small but charming, with a beautiful beach. We were able to stock up on all the groceries we needed (and delicious pastries) at the small local shops. We generally ate lunch in restaurants and cooked dinner in the well-appointed kitchen at the villa, since the Portuguese eat dinner well beyond our kids' bedtime. Carlos was a wonderful host, responding quickly to every request. I highly recommend this villa for families with young children or for anyone looking for a beautiful relaxing vacation spot with easy access to many of the loveliest sites of Portugal.

Perfect villa

Casa Do Lago is the perfect villa for families with children. With an electrically operated gated entrance the grounds of the villa are secure, beautifully laid out, full of flowers and with lots of activities to keep children of all ages entertained. Our four year old grandson loved feeding the goldfish in the ornamental pond every morning. The heated swimming pool is great and again is very secure, providing peace of mind for adults. The layout of the villa worked well for us, an extended family of eight people, making optimum use of the truly outstanding views over the lagoon. The fantastic beaches of Foz do Arelho are a two minute drive, five minutes by bicycle, away and there are lots of other terrific beaches within easy reach, as well as places of interest. We have rented a number of high quality villas across Europe in recent years, Casa do Lago matches the best.

The best villa we have ever found

We recently stopped for a week, at this stunning villa Casa Lago, and we was absolutely amaized! we spent most of the time in the heated pool, enjoying the spectacular views over Obidos lagoon. Sunbathing on the extensive and panoramic gardens and terraces, whilst looking out to the superb views was a complete bonus. It is amazing the choice of equipments that this villa offers. It is very well prepared to receive everybody and although we had no children in our group, the villa has everything to keep a gag of kids very happy. We had some barbecues on the picturesque terrace which we really enjoyed. The villa is clean and comfortable and for the owners nothing was too much trouble, they were really helpful. Ideal for a family holiday.. Just across the street, at the village of Foz de Arelho, you can enjoy a meal or a coffee at super restaurants and bars. We truly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this villa. We hope to go back soon, but this time not for less than 2 weeks.

My wife she loves cats, is fluent in several languages and works as a teacher in a High School. We are a couple in our fifties.

As Silver Coast is a fantastic region ( that we knew very well), we decided to build there our dream property. After discover the land, we found out the place so charming that we decided immediately to buy it and build there the villa of our dreams. We just wanted the best and we did not spare any efforts to achieve our aims. The result was a fantastic villa and an architectural master piece completely turned to the luxury relax, the sun and the views.
