About this property

Fabulous Villa on Golf Resort, Private Pool.

This is a perfectly positioned semi-detached Isla Grosa Villa only a 1 minute walk away from the 5 * resort centre, amenities and supermarket. This beautiful villa which is on the 5 Star Mar Menor Golf Resort has one double and one twin bedroom with sofa bed in the lounge. We also have 2 travel cots and all rooms have air conditioning plus a spacious kitchen with all facilities including dishwasher and washing machine. South facing garden and sun terrace with tiled patio surrounding a private 6x3 pool. This area has a 6 seater table and chairs, 4 sun loungers and a BBQ is also provided.
Mar Menor is a secure gated complex with a 5*Intercontinental hotel. The Resort itself includes a supermarket, communal pool with El Olivio cafe/restaurant. There is the Italian restaurant Fontana, the Nomad and the new Japanese restaurant in the Hotel and the Clover Irish bar which also sells food. Children's entertainment is provided during summer months. The Resort also houses floodlit tennis and padel courts. On El Boulevard (10/15minutes walk) there is a bank, estate agents, bars and several eateries including Triana and the Alabama Restaurant,Bombay Dreams, Route 66, The Dream, Shamrock Bar and Flavour 2.
There is a taxi rank outside of the Hotel and a trip into Los Alcazares costs in the region of 12 Euros each way. This local town (2/3miles) has a 4 mile beach surrounded by traditional Spanish cuisine as well a few international bars and restaurants.
The 1st tee for Mar menor is situated 1 minute from the villa adjacent to the driving range and practice facilities. A green fee is great value at circa €50 and is part of a 6 course network all accessible by car (20-30mins). All courses were designed by golfing great Jack Nicklaus

Great location

The property has everything you need for your holiday although the dishwasher wasnt working. Paul tried to rectify this whilst we were there but not able to. Beds were good but a little firm for us, but this is a matter of taste. Furniture inside and out was a bit tied, but still comfortable. Location of villa was perfect for us and nice and quiet. Pool was clean, well maintained. Sun on pool and outside area all day which was lovely.

Property unloved

There were lots of issues. Mostly stuff that could be fixed with a little TLC. For example, sticky drink marks all over the outside table, missing light bulbs, filthy windows, damaged service hatches, torn fly screens (therefore useless), dirty footprints around the pool, green slime in the pool shower tray, paint peeling off the woodwork around the front entrance, terrible varnish/paint job on the front door, paint hanging off the shower ceiling and a rusty damaged light fitting over the mirror. The solarium looks like it has never been cleaned and has a bird skeleton laying in the floor. We also had to put up with a major garden renovation in one of the adjacent villas. From 8am till 6pm every single day, except Sunday, we had to put up with loud sawing, hammering and cement mixing. There were clouds of building dust landing in the pool and several times various builders appeared inside the garden to carry out their work. There was a hole in the fence so no privacy. As the property manager lived only minutes they must have been aware of this but no warning. We were also promised a small welcome pack as we arrived late in the evening. This was not there so my 83 year old mum and I had no water or food till the next day. I emailed the owner with photographs of all the issues but a week later I have not had the courtesy of a reply let alone an apology.

A little piece of perfect

Teri the property manager is a little god send always on hand to help. Paul’s communication from start to finish was great. The Villa is a fab little find and despite leaving our driving license in the UK 🙈, there was everything we needed within walking distance. The spar shop does have virtually everything and we thought the Italian restaurant on the resort was a must try. Loved our stay so much we even looked up prices of villas in the area. I’m sure we will be back.

When we arrived Villa was average cleaned. We were ok roll all electric went off first night emergency contact number supplied was incorrect had to cope till next day when emailed owner, w eventually some one came and got power back to sockets only, and said would return to sort lights, but no one came all the week we was there so had no lights all week

Great villa

This villa is fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is ideally situated close to the resort centre. The pool is well maintained and is in the sun all day. We had some very minor queries and found the owner to be very helpful and responsive. Having stayed at several villas on Mar Menor you can tell by all the small attention to detail that the owners stay here regularly as it feels like a home from home. The pre holiday info provided is hugely detailed with loads of great recommendations. We would definitely book this villa again.

Well Appointed

The property was perfect for we three middle aged golfers on our annual golf trip to Murcia. The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival, with many little touches which made the stay easier, such as UK adapters throughout the house. The shower, for example, was one of the best I've encountered anywhere in Europe, and didn't seem the suffer the same plumbing issues one often encounters! We didn't need to use the air conditioning nor did we have the television on during our week there, but the villa wi fi was robust. The villa and its contents are clearly well looked after and maintained. During the week, gardeners arrived to cut back the hedge, and pool maintenance was undertaken, not just cleaning. It was a real pleasure to sit out beside the pool in the evening after our golf, with a beer and analyse the day's proceedings. We ate out all week, but the facilities for barbecuing or eating in the villa were all there. The owner's communication both before and during the stay was exemplary. He provided a comprehensive note of not only the villa, but many of the attractions that there were to visit in the surrounding area, including suggestions as to courses we might like to play during our visit. I had occasion to contact Paul early in our stay, and he responded very quickly to a minor issue we had encountered, which was easily resolved after a chat. All in all, this villa is a find as far as we are concerned and we very much hope to return. Thank you Paul, hope to be in touch next year!
