ā˜€ļø During the summer months of June, July, August and September, weekly bookings are from Saturday to Saturday, although it is possible to arrive and leave on a different day.

Casale Dellā€™Oliveto is a tranquil and spacious country villa. Converted from old farm buildings, incorporating two trullo cones and lamia and set in a privately owned, fenced five acre olive grove, with many almond, fig and pear trees and even pomegranates in season.

The Trullo is a distinctive, small dry-stone building with a conical roof, which is specific to the Itria Valley in this region of Puglia.

The 3 double bedroom villa has been uniquely and beautifully furnished in a relaxed mediterranean style, ideal for three couples or a large family group.

Each of the bedrooms has its own distinctive character, all have air conditioning and en-suite bathroom with large walk in shower.

The kitchen and lavenderia is well equipped, with hi-spec appliances, including large Smeg oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine and a dining table comfortably seating eight.

The living room, kitchen and master bedroom all have glass doors leading out onto a large covered terrace, which is ideal for lounging and dining during the hot summer months.

There are numerous areas around the villa for you to dine, lounge and relax in... including the pergola by the pool with its BBQ and dining table, the walled herb & citrus garden and the large rooftop, which is ideal for yoga in the early morning or evening and then stargazing at night.

A very special place, so tastefully decorated. Enough space for everyone to find their own little place to be. Nestled amongst the olive groves you really do feel like you have your own little bit of paradise away from the world. Yet only 15 minutes from Italian life and restaurants .. A perfect Puglia retreat, very hard to leave ..

The perfect holiday

We have just come back from a wonderful 2 weeks at Casale Dellā€™Oliveto, spent with various family and friends. Angela and Ottavio (the villa manager in Italy) were great communicators, were extremely helpful and gave us lots of information. The villa is stunning and beautifully decorated - the photos do not lie!! We spent a lot of time enjoying the pool, seating areas and eating out on the terrace. The villa is perfectly located for visiting lots of local towns: Ostuni, Alberobello, Cisternino, Locorotondo and Lecce to name a few. We would 100% recommend staying here and would love to return in the future!

Immersed in the true Puglia Country Experience

We spent three glorious weeks of September in Casale dellā€™Oliveto villa and loved it. Angela and Lawrence made every effort to make sure our stay was enjoyable and met our expectations. Ottavio, the house manager, and his son were always available to offer all sorts of hints and tips as well as sort out any problems we may have had and their knowledge of the region was second to none. The friendliness shown to us by all of the locals reflected the easy calm lifestyle of the Puglia farm region and made us feel very welcome. This is a country residence so a car is essential to explore the many wonders of the Puglia region. Of course you may prefer to simply prop around the very large pool and bask under that fabulous Puglia sunshine in the most beautiful of surrounds. The dĆ©cor of the house is stunning and is a credit to the owners. So much of the enjoyment comes from the beauty that has been created in this country haven. We do not hesitate to recommend this villa for a true Puglia Country experience.

The perfect escape

I can only describe the villa as perfect. My family, two children aged 7 & 8 and my husband and I stayed here for a week in June 2019. The Villa is finished beautifully and has everything you could possibly need. Each room has it's own personal touches and the interiors are just beautiful and full of character. The villa is lovely and cool which was a refreshing contrast to the gorgeous sunshine we enjoyed throughout our stay. The outside area is equally beautiful with a sparkling turquoise pool which we spent many hours enjoying! The herb garden was such a lovely touch and added the finishing touches to many a pasta dish! The garden was full of life, lizards, nesting birds and swallows swooping over head. The many outdoor seating areas were great to relax and enjoy this! The roof top Terrance was a great way to end each day with the kids star gazing and enjoying a glass of wine whilst laying out on the many blankets and hamam towels scattered around the property! The local area provided plenty to see with our favourite stop being Ostuni. Just a few minutes drive and you have a huge variety of great dining choices and characterful bars which were all very child friendly, not to mention the amazing ice cream parlours around! We drove to the coast a few times but to be honest we were so happy in our own little hidden paradise at the villa we spent more time there playing lilos wars with the kids and sipping on coffees! Thank you so much to Angela who was in constant contact should we need anything! (But we didn't as everything had been so well thought out!) This truly is a 10 out of 10 villa and one not to miss. It's the best villa we've ever stayed in and I cant recommend it enough!

Eine fantastische Unterkunft!

Es war einfach traumhaft. Haus uns GrundstĆ¼ck bieten alles was man sich wĆ¼nscht. Ein groƟer Pool, tolle Aussenbereiche, das Haus super ausgestattet und alle SehenswĆ¼rdigkeiten Apuliens gut erreichbar. Man braucht natĆ¼rlich ein Auto, denn im Umkreis von fĆ¼nf Kilometern ist kein Restaurant, kein BƤcker, aber das wussten wir vorher. Die Ruhe ist himmlisch, Haus und GrundstĆ¼ck ein toller RĆ¼ckzugsort, von dem aus man Apulien gut erkunden oder einfach entspannen kann. Wir haben beides kombiniert und es war ein fantastischer Urlaub!

Lovely stay in Puglia

We had a wonderful week at Angelaā€™s house. Everything worked smoothly, Ottavio and his son were very helpful. The pool was amazing and cool when the outside temp reached 38 degrees Celsius... House decor was lovely, kitchen fully equipped and the bathrooms were dreamy. Only thing we had a problem with were the mosquitos. Other than that, amazing house and great host!!

Wenn die Wirklichkeit noch besser als die Bilder ist!

Vom ersten Augenblick konnten wir nur eines tun, als wir das GrundstĆ¼ck und das Casale betraten: LƤcheln. So viel Liebe zum Detail, so ein Engagement fĆ¼r seine GƤste haben wir selten erlebt. Das Haus ist aufregend geschnitten, man kann sich hier auch super zurĆ¼ck ziehen. AuƟerdem fĆ¼hlt man sich sicher, weil es eben nicht so leicht zu finden ist. Wie ein verstecktes Paradies umgeben von wunderschƶnen Olivenbaumplantagen. Die Orte Ceglie und Ostuni sind beide schnell erreichbar und wirklich auƟergewƶhnlich schƶn. Ost-und WestkĆ¼ste des Stiefelsbsatzes sind innerhalb maximal 45 Minuten erreichbar. Darunter StrƤnde mit glasklaren Wasser. Aber letztendlich kann man auch einfach das Casale und seinen Pool genieƟen und - gar nichts tun und runter kommen. Wir freuen uns auf das nƤchste Mal...

The online description is absolutely true, the villa is really wonderful. The pool is great, beds are comfortable and all the kitchen furnitures are at top level. The italian man who manages the house is reliable, disposable and helpful. Also the wifi connection is quite good and this isn't common in the zone. The only problem with the villa is that you have to go away when the vacation is finished. Tommaso

Itā€™s a great villa and nicely furnished. The two minor issues were the incorrect phone number for the property manager and the hunting season. A number of mornings (630 to 9) it sounded as if we were in the middle of a war zone.Shotgun blasting on all sides. A little disconcerting

Dear Les, Iā€™m so sorry that my manager missed off a digit when sending you his mobile number, but just to confirm his details were correct on the Homeaway communication, along with my telephone number ...Iā€™m glad it was sorted out quickly. The villa sits in two hectares of land boundaried by a perimeter fence in the middle of the Puglian countryside. Regretably local farmers and huntsman with a license, are allowed to shoot wildlife on specific days during the hunting season. It was very unfortunate that they happened to be in the vacinity at the same time you were staying. This is one of the finest houses we've rented for a holiday. From the photographs online you can already see it is an outstanding house but the reality is even better. The British owners have renovated this trulli into an exceptional home with no expense spared. All the rooms are well appointed with en suites and the kitchen is better stocked than ours at home. (Even lots of tupperware !) The crowning glory is the pool which is huge for a private home but the whole property has the wow factor. As a family we spend many summers in rented villas and usually use them as a base to then take day trips, but honestly, this place is so beautiful we found we didnt want to leave the house. After shopping at the supermarket in Ostuni on arrival day, we met Ottavio, the brilliant and lovely local guy who manages this house and others in the area. He lead us the 15 minute drive to the trulli and gave us a full run down on the layout and facilities before leaving us to our own devices. He's on whats app if there are any questions. The location is very rural which suited us perfectly - there are other properties around but they are all set within enourmous olive groves and so you really have the feeling of no neighbours, total peace and solitude which is so hard to come by. The dusty tracks and small country lanes are perfect too, if you're a runner. This place is 'trully' gorgeous!

Very lovely and peaceful villa

Lovely villa set in the countryside and surrounded by olive trees and the odd almond, fig and pear tree. The pool is longer than average and very picturesque. The inside of the villa is very tastefully furnished and comfortable, only problem being that the bedrooms were too hot at night. There is very limited WiFi. Loved the beautiful terrace and the several outdoor areas to relax. Ostuni and Ceglie within an easy reach for daily shop and coffee. Ionian Sea is less than an hourā€™s drive, Adriatic around 30 mins.

Iā€™m sorry you found it a little hot at night, unfortunately you stayed during the abnormally hot heatwave that hit the whole of Europe, the villa is usually nice and cool as itā€™s made with thick walls of stone. The perfect ā€˜get away from it allā€™ villa.

We had an absolutely wonderful family holiday here. Considering there were my parents (in their 70ā€™s) and our 10 month old baby, this beautifully decorated haven caters for all. Itā€™s stunning. Angela has thought of everything. The kitchen is so well stocked with everything you could ever need (great for foodies.) And the pool is just bliss. Infact, in the week we spent here, leaving to venture off to see more of Puglia was really hard. We didnā€™t want to leave! Having someone who doesnā€™t mind driving is a must, as the beach and beautiful nearby towns are between 20 and 40mins away. But once you get there, itā€™s always worth the trip. Needless to say, then returning back to our camp with provisions and wine just made it all the harder to leave again! We will definitely be returning to see the butterflies, the bees, the swallows diving into the pool as the night drew in, eat the delicious figs from the trees... the list goes on. I just canā€™t wait to get into that pool again. Itā€™s as close as you can get to feel like youā€™re in ā€˜Out of Africaā€™ whilst quaffing delicious wine and cheese. First class.

Exquisitely beautiful and luxurious place of tranquility

The trullo has been carefully and beautifully renovated and designed by its owner, who is a professional designer with a deep sensitivity for the vernacular architecture of Puglia. The interiors are simple but luxurious, created in natural colours and textures which enhance the serenity of the building and the secluded environment of the olive grove in which its placed. Even the lovely rustic crockery and ceramics in the kitchen are a pleasure to use. Unusually for a trullo most of the rooms are light and large and even the smaller bedrooms, with smaller windows, with their arched limestone ceilings, feel rather exciting and magical partly because they are beautiful lit. We had great fun attempting to cook local dishes in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen, picking fresh herbs from the garden and eating on the terrace over-looking the pool and, on one rainy evening, six of us were comfortable in the sitting room watching Dvds of Italian films. There's a lovely barbecue area by the pool. Italian sausages cooked on the barbeque are like nothing else. The pool is simply beautiful and it was wonderful to lie by it reading, listening to the crickets and looking at the silvery olive trees, and to flop into the water after walking around the lovely towns of Ceglie and Ostuni. Totally recommended.

Fantastic stay at Casale dell 'Oliveto

We've had a fantastic stay at Casale dell 'Oliveto. The property was even better than the pictures suggested and had everything needed to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible. The pool area was amazing. The arrangements went very smoothly, Ottavio met us as arranged and took us to the property, showed us how to use everything, even changed my hire car satnav to English! Ostuni was great in the evening, very bustly with bars, restaurants and shops. Lots of lovely towns and villages to visit, make sure you head for the historical centres. We'd definitely recommend this property and area to others.

Beautiful

Fantastic rural location, beautifully designed and finished trullo with a great attention to detail. Angela and Lawrence are clearly foodies with everything a cook needs (including a traditional wood-fired pizza oven!). The landscaping and outside areas are stunning with a huge terrace that we took full use of every evening during our stay. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Spectacular stay

What a wonderful place Casale dell'Oliveto is. It is beautifully furnished and decorated both inside and out whilst never losing sight of its main purpose: as a place to relax in comfort within stunning surroundings. The pool is a great size; allowing adults to swim lengths in a futile attempt to work off the local (utterly delicious) food, and children to splash around on the steps in the shallow end. It was also a perfect temperature in early August. The outside seating and dining area, the verandah, the rooftop and the walled garden offered plenty of variety over our two week stay to lounge and eat in different spots around the house. In fact one is regularly discovering new aspects of it - all thought through with admirable foresight and indeed taste by the owners. Inside the house stays fairly cool even in the mid-summer Puglian temperatures whilst the vast bathrooms and walk-in showers are the perfect place to cool down before one's sundowners. Ceglie Messapica is only a 10 minute drive away and provides supermarkets as well as pretty cobbled streets and mouth watering gastronomy. Ostuni and Martina Franca are both extremely picturesque and very close. The coast is no more than 30 minutes away and there are some pretty stylish beach clubs, especially near Savalletri. However when you've got a pool like the one at Casale dell'Oliveto to go back to, the sand, pebbles and swathes of people are often left behind rather quickly!

Having worked in the busy creative world of design and then becoming a Five Element Acupuncturist, I wanted to find a piece of heaven to rest and recharge and I found it here in beautiful Puglia! Where I renovated a two cone trullo and stone lamia farm building, set amidst nature in a two hectare olive grove and created Casale Dell' Oliveto.

Why they chose this property

Puglia was a revelation to me back in 2010. A beautiful and unspoiled part of Italy with a wonderful climate, great food, beautiful coastline, friendly people and so much to explore and enjoy. From the UK, it is easy to get to all year round.

Property is still available to anyone who enjoys a project and has the vision to create something unique and beautiful.

What makes this property unique

It's so very peaceful here in the countryside and yet nearby there are beautiful villages with exciting markets, wonderful architecture, beaches and restaurants to explore.

The villa has a lot of room ā€“ private corners here and there to read or relax. A large 15 x 5 meter pool, a choice of eating areas, a BBQ and a kitchen fit for a chef.
