Casa de campo de férias Oakdean é o local perfeito p/ explorar a famosa paisagem do norte de Inglaterra. Situada a 40-50 min do aeroporto de Manchester e 25 min da estação Preston Mainline Railway (c/ligações de 2h15 de London Euston)- Oakedean é pitoresca, calma e foi recentemente renovada c/ elevada qualidade. Está entre muitos edifícios de casa rurais à saída de um único caminho na aldeia de York, Langho. Não há estrada c/trânsito ou rotas de voo perto, mas há um pub local 5 min a pé. Atracções locais incl. Pendle Hill e a aldeia histórica de Whalley, oferecendo passeios curtos ou longas caminhadas mesmo à saída da porta. Pode estar no Lake District, Cumbria e Yorkshire Dales em 90 min de carro e temos prazer em ajudar a organizar excursões, viagem e transporte. Há de tudo p/ o ajudar a apreciar a s/estadia. Casa de campo toda equipada no interior c/ um pátio e grande jardim no exterior portanto pode estar no exterior e apreciar um churrasco de Verão.

Lovely bungalow

Lovely well equipped bungalow. We were met by Sue who was kind enough to drop toys off for our 3 year old. She also messaged before our stay to see if we wanted bed guard setting up which was very helpfull. Lots to do for children near by and lots of room outside for kids to play

Excellent cottage and area

We stayed for 4 nights at this property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean, very well equipped and close to local villages, pubs and shopping. Our hosts Sue and Ian were very friendly and helpful on all aspects of our stay. Look forward to staying at this property again in the future.

Calver Cottage

This is a quiet, peaceful location where my mother and I could totally relax. We liked the patio door which looks out over a nice garden, also with a view. The sun sets on this side which was beautiful. We also enjoyed being inside this stylish apartment, in an up to date style. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the details when decorating. It was also extremely clean.

Brithday Break

From the moment we arrived at this gated cottage, we know we were going to enjoy our stay, safe for our grandson's to run about in the grounds .The cottage was spotless, warm, great amenities. Ian and Sue gave us a warm welcome, with Sue showing us around, Ian putting out a football net for the boys. The boy's really enjoyed there freedom. The local pubs were great for eating out, The Aspinall, and The Black Bull, (we liked the best).Ian and Sue had not problem with us doing fireworks on my Birthday. Will recommend this holiday cottage to family and friends. Well done Ian and Sue and team.

Family Staycation

Set in stunning countryside and within beautifully kept grounds. A really lovely cottage which was perfect for my husband and I to meet up with his sister & brother-in-law. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we required for a short stay. Very comfortable beds and a spacious double bedroom. All the furnishings were lovely and there were plenty of towels and a bathrobe each. Good welcome pack which included tea, coffee, milk, orange juice and biscuits. Highly recommend and would return if travelling to this area again.

Lovely long weekend break

A beautifully presented property which was spotlessly clean and modern. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped with everything you could need with extra bits like tin foil and dishwasher tablets provided by the property owner. Comfy beds and quiet area surrounding the property so we could enjoy listening to all the baby birds in the trees surrounding our patio. The parasol was perfect and came in very handy for both drizzle and sunshine during our stay! Everything listed on the advertisement for the property was present and working perfectly. The check in time of 3pm and check out of 11am was notably better than other places we’d looked at and it made an appreciable difference not having to rush out on Monday morning! The only minor considerations were that the interior doors were slightly stiff to open or close which proved slightly disruptive to the person in the other bedroom, and my friend suggested a light for the patio perhaps? But they are very minor points in what is a spectacular property with very thoughtful owners!

Perfect in every way

Calder Cottage is a clean cosy place to stay and enjoy the delights of the Ribble Valley. Ian and Sue are warm, friendly and helpful hosts who provide extra special touches and thoughtful welcoming luxuries. Thank you for such a relaxing, restorative stay enabling us to see family locally. We would not hesitate to stay there again and highly recommend your property as a delightful place to stay.

Fantastic cottage break

An immaculate cottage with a very high standard of interior decor. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a high level of comfort throughout. The welcome was very friendly and we were given loads of info on nearby attractions by the lady that greeted us.

A peaceful country getaway

Lovely quiet cottage with everything you migt need and a little country pub only a few minutes away. Beautiful surroundings, lovely walks with pubs, restaurants and shops only a couple of miles down a country lane. Helpful and friendly hosts, there if you need them yet you wouldn't know they were there ... affording privacy and security... highly recommended.

Perfect Picturesque Getaway

Ian and Sue have outdone themselves with their rental properties and beautiful landscapes. What an immense pleasure it was to find this gem and get the opportunity to stay for a few days in one of their cottages. It was beyond our expectations, but what made the whole experience perfect was the attention to detail, care, and hospitality afforded us by Ian and Sue. Definitely recommend this rental to any and all! Hoping to make it back to this area in the future. Thank you so very much for the memory of a lifetime!

We really enjoyed our stay with you, although we were not Walkers we found plenty to do in and around the area, the house was Spotless and had everything we needed and more, Host were more than helpful, Best Holiday home we have stayed in in 30 years, hope to visit again in the future.

We have stayed at the cottages before, and chose the smaller cottage this time, as four of us and not six - thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the flexibility offered by Ian and Sue. Lovely cottage, very well equipped

We've just spent a lovely week staying in Calder Cottage. The cottage was clean and very well equipped. As we have young children we tend to cook dinner for ourselves and the kitchen was a home from home enabling us to do this with relative ease. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels were provided, along with dressing gowns. Sue brought some toys around for the kids which was a lovely touch and very well received. Even though this cottage is attached to the owners home you didn't get the feeling you were being constantly watched but felt if you needed something they would be more than happy to assist. Overall a lovely place that received a thumbs up from the kids and we'll definitely return at some point.

Perfect cottage, perfect location, perfect hosts.

The cottage fulfilled all our needs and our hosts were particularly welcomming and helpful. Thank you Sue, for helping me out with hairspray, perfume etc. when our suitcase got lost on the way from Sweden to Manchester airport.

Excellent property that is so well looked after and amazingly clean!

Fantastic property in the heart of the Ribble Valley countryside. We had everything we could possible need and more. Ian and Sue are fantastic hosts and give you lots of privacy but are there if you need anything. So wonderful we have rebooked to come back again in August and I suspect will be booking many more stays in the future Many thanks Sue

Beatiful Location

This is the second we have stayed at the Calder Cottage and it's a great property in a beautiful location. Sue and Ian are brilliant hosts. We will look forward to staying in future.

Calder Cottage is situated in the small rural village of Langho, in serene countryside with stunning views of the Ribble Valley which is set in the official Forest of Bowland AONB. A setting that has inspired many - including J.R.R. Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. 

There are more than 40 idyllic villages surrounding Langho, the nearest of which is Whalley; just a 5 min drive or 30 min walk. Along with a beautiful Abbey, the Grade II listed Whalley Viaduct (the largest in Lancashire), shops, a deli, and a bakery, there are pubs, bars and restaurants to suit every appetite.

The charming market town of Clitheroe is only a 15 min drive away and offers a large choice of supermarkets, independent shops, places to eat, and a beautiful park and playground in the grounds of the iconic medieval Castle. 

Whether you're exploring wild woodlands and ancient castles, or visiting some of the many award-winning restaurants nearby, Calder Cottage is the perfect home from home.
