Le cƓur de la maison est la fantastique cuisine avec 4 portes aga (opĂ©rationnel pendant les mois d'hiver seulement), 2 fours, 2 lave-vaisselle et American FF avec machine Ă  glaçons. 2 autres rĂ©frigĂ©rateurs-congĂ©lateurs dans la buanderie et la cuisine du chalet, plus un garde-manger pour le stockage des aliments. Tous adaptĂ©s et Ă©quipĂ©s pour accueillir de grands groupes. Ici, le divertissement est facile et amusant.

La salle Ă  manger peut accueillir de 18 Ă  20 personnes et il y a 4 autres salles de rĂ©ception avec des canapĂ©s confortables et des poĂȘles Ă  bois.

Le jardin est privĂ© d'environ 2 ares dont 2 terrasses dont une avec barbecue et salon de jardin x 18. Il y a beaucoup d'espace pour jouer aux activitĂ©s et au badminton. De plus, il y a un terrain de jeu avec 2 buts de football. Une salle de jeux est situĂ©e dans les dĂ©pendances avec billard et baby-foot. Une salle de tennis de table rustique est un grand espace pour se dĂ©fouler .... apportez vos baskets et votre toison .. pas de chauffage et elle a un sol en bĂ©ton! Par arrangement, le tennis peut ĂȘtre jouĂ© au Eardisley Tennis Club.

La maison a accueilli des invités de partout au Royaume-Uni et dans le monde. Célébrant principalement un anniversaire, un anniversaire ou une réunion annuelle. C'est un endroit idéal pour les personnes voyageant du nord, du sud, de l'est ou de l'ouest.

La marche et le canoë sont les activités les plus populaires sur la promenade de la vallée de la Wye. Il y a aussi de superbes pistes cyclables locales (cartes OS Explorer et pistes cyclables ainsi qu'un local à vélos sur place). Nous voyons également beaucoup d'invités qui apprécient leur nourriture. This property is amazing!There were 14 of us staying for a long weekend and wished we could have stayed longer.The accommodation is huge, the grounds are massive and there is so much to do in the games room plus outside recreation areas - pool, table football, table tennis, outdoor badminton and outdoor football pitch.The BBQ area is perfect for those summer days and we made full use of it!Everyone has their own bathroom and with three reception rooms we had ample space to spread out.The kitchen is modern and very well equipped so we could prep all our meals quite easily.The surrounding countryside is beautiful and very peaceful and you are within striking distance of the Brecon Beacons where we did a lot of hiking.We will defo be back in the future!

Beautiful Property for Large groups

The house and cottage was perfect for our family reunion of 12 and 2 little ones. Bathroom and shower/tub in every room! Kitchen and Dining area and seating for 18 inside and out was perfect. Amazing kitchen with plenty of dishes and all possibly needed to cook large meals. Three sitting rooms with fireplace and wood provided Games, books, puzzles, game room, outside badminton and soccer. Best VRBO! Views amazing!

Great for a family gathering

We stayed over the New Year period for a family gathering to celebrate a wedding and a 95th birthday. The house is very spacious with multiple living spaces. Most of the guests (18) stayed and a few extra joined us on one of the days. We had a very enjoyable time and did all our own catering so used the kitchen extensively. The house is very well furnished and the kitchen is unusually well equipped for a rental property.

A great family Christmas

Our family of fourteen ranging in ages from thirteen to ninety one had a great Christmas in this outstanding property. We like a rural location and Monnington is certainly that, the house itself has been beautifully restored, the kitchen, dining area with underfloor heating, an aga , two ovens and two dishwashers with plenty of dishes, plates and implements meant that our party wanted for absolutely nothing. The goodies left for our arrival were most acceptable, it has to be said you could not fault this excellent property and the owners management of it. Thankyou Anna for making our Christmas one to remember.

This property is in an ideal location. Nothing is too far away, especially the fabulous Oakchurch Farm Shop, which has absolutely everything and literally five minutes drive.The house and cottage were extememly comfortable and spotlessly clean, prepared thoughtfully and tastefully for the festive season. Our family of 14 enjpoyed a wonderful Christmas, made even more so because of the attention to detail in almost every room, where the needs of the guest were clearly a priority.Communication with the host was exemplary from start to finish. A thoroughly professional approach and an obviously well-oiled management machine made everything effortless, facilitated particularly by an incredibly detailed and most informative guide to staying at Monnington, released in advance of arrival.Any queries, no matter how small, received a prompt and helpful response.The house and cottage are lovely. All rooms are well furnished, comfortable, and their individuality adds further layers of uniqueness to each property.We were made to feel most welcome from the very start, with a most generous welcome pack that was much appreciated.Monnington House and Cottage had everything we needed, the kitchen being particulalrly well equipped for us to cater for the family throughout the Christmas period.We would have no hesitation in recommending this property, and have every intention of returning at some point in the future. 50th Birthday Party

A wonderful weekend for 16 at Monnington House for a 50th birthday party. The house is extremely well set up with 9 very comfortable and well appointed en-suite rooms, with seemingly endless hot water. The kitchen has all the equipment you could need to cater for a large group and there is space to sit all together both inside and also out on the terrace (including large BBQ). 3 sitting rooms each with their own log burners meant that there was always somewhere to find a bit of space - not forgetting pool table, table football and table tennis. Anna could not have been more helpful with all arrival/departure arrangements and I can wholeheartedly recommend Debbie and Woody for any catering requirements. All in all top class and hope to be back.

Fabulous house in stunning location

Very large, grand house, beautifully decorated, very well equipped, and appreciated the nice welcome pack. Cottage also very nice. Games rooms were well used and great fun across all ages. Excellent!

Property was super, as expected. Plenty of room for all the family and enough areas to escape to if needed. Very well equipped and the play barn provided another outlet for the kids. Great location, quiet but not too isolated, Hay and Hereford easily reached. The weather meant that we stayed in for a couple of days but that was absolutely no problem. Anna was super as a property owner, checking we were ok and giving us tips for activities. Check in was seamless and overall the whole experience eas great. Highly recommended.

AMAZING LUXURY PROPERTY

Our large family from Yorkshire, Surrey, West Midlands and Monmouth all stayed here for 4 nights over New Year. The house is amazing with everything you would need. There were so many of us we had to use the cottage as well which I gather was also amazing. The addition of en suite bathrooms to every bedroom was just so convenient and wonderful. We used all the facilities and had our own New Year Games competition which was immense fun. We had a superb meal at the Old Black Lion, Hay-on-Wye on New Year's Day and would highly recommend the restaurant. We were all sorry to leave at the end of our stay but are returning again this coming New Year for a whole week! We would like to thank our hosts for all the hard work they put in to make the property so comfortable for their quests and also thank them for the wonderful welcome pack which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. See you again on the 28th December, 2015.

Perfect large family holiday house

Monnington House accomodated our extended family of 16 (youngest 6 months, eldest 81 years!) for one week in July 2015. Even with such a large number to be catered for we never felt crowded - far from it. The kitchen was perfect for cooking large meals for all, as well as enabling multiple cooks to prepare separately at lunch and snack time! The house is beautifully decorated from top to bottom. The luxury (necessity with big family!) of an en-suite with baths and showers for every room was amazing. The large outside space, with lawns and plentiful seating (plus essential BBQ) was enjoyed by children and adults alike. Great location for the convenience of Hereford - swimming pool, shops and the Beer & Cider Festival - as well as beautiful towns such as Hay and canoeing on the Wye. Highly recommended.

lovely big property

The property was lovely and a great size for everyone to both get together and have some quiet time away from the rest too. Very well equipped kitchen. The weather was lovely so we had chance to enjoy the outside space too including the football field. The attached cottage is a nice addition. The stay was enjoyed by all.

Beautiful house and location

We had a great week staying at Monnington House. The booking process was straight-forward and Anna the owner was very helpful throughout. The house was just as beautiful as it looks on the website and has clearly been a labour of love. Extremely clean and well-presented throughout. Beds were all exceptionally comfortable - everyone commented on just how well they slept. We were a large family group with ages ranging from 18 months to 70 years and the house suited us perfectly. Lots of space for us to spread out in and the grandparents could retire to the cottage annexe at night to avoid an early morning wake-up call from the children. The large secluded gardens were a big hit with the children, there are lovely walks from the doorstep and a really useful farm shop just up the road for an essentials. We visited the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre at nearby Kington which the children loved and also enjoyed days out in Hay on Wye and also at some nearby National Trust properties. We mostly catered for ourselves at the house as it was easier than eating out with the children but that was made very easy with a large well-equipped kitchen, 2 dishwashers, 2 large fridges etc. All in all I would highly recommend Monnington House to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in a very lovely part of the country.

I am married to Hugh who was brought up at Monnington House. We have run Monnington House and the adjoining Garden Cottage which sleeps 18 for the last 10 years and recently introduced the Cider Mill which sleeps 6 and is listed with VRBO 10736505. We opened the Cider Mill in 2020. I used to run a national lettings agency. When not working I love being with my dogs which I breed, pottering in my garden, growing vegetables and cooking and being with my friends.

Monnington House and Garden Cottage are situated in a gorgeous hidden pocket of England. The house and adjoining cottage are very well laid out and is perfect for large groups. Request floor plans if interested. Few houses provide 9 spacious bedrooms each with their own bathrooms affording both luxury and privacy with superking zip and link beds and 400 count egyptian linen. The ground floor bedroom in Garden Cottage is perfect for those who dont do stairs. It has mobility 1 status awarded by Visit England. The kitchen in the main house is very popular as it is a very sociable room and totally geared up for large numbers with aga (winter months only) , 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers and 3 fridge freezers plus it is well equipped with pots, pans, glasses, crockery making entertaining fun and easy. The dining area seats 20 ( 24 by arrangement if taking the Cider Mill - vrbo no 10736596) comfortably. The garden and grounds are huge and amount to 2 acres or 3 acres if taking Cider MIll in addtion. House badminton is provided, 2 football goals in the playing field and a games room with pool table and table football plus a rustic table tennis room.

The walking from the house is fantastic. Step out of the door and straight onto the Wye Valley Walk. Canoeing the Wye is very popular during the summer months and during the winter we are seeing an increasing number of guests mountain biking. Lucky to have a pub within a good hours walk along the Wye Valley Walk at Bredwardine called the Red Lion which serves good local food. Dogs are accepted. There is a great farmshop 1.8 miles from the house which is fantastic called Oakchurch. You can buy great local meats and vegetables and also a good range of home made ready made food. We have great local caterers who work in the house often. They can make a weekend or week away very special and charge ÂŁ40 per head for fully catered service and less for cook and drop off. Good selection of pubs and restaurants all within 20 minutes drive from budget to michelin star. Large private garden of at least 2 acres with plenty of space to play activities Shared playing field with 2 football goals with the Cider Mill . Pets welcome by prior arrangement. Good for families or large groups. Garden furniture for 18 on south facing terrace or 24 if taking the Cider Mill by arrangement . Close to the fabulous town of Hay on Wye. Fishing available via Bulmers Angling Club. Within walking distance of the house. Llama trekking nearby which guests love. Fabulous authorised caterer available.
