Excellent for family groups
We are two families who like to go on holiday together, but with five kids aging from 4 up to 15 and four adults, it's not always easy to find accommodation that's big enough not just in terms of bedrooms, but also in terms of living space. Maison Marchand is perfect. It has a large main living room with TV and French doors out into the garden and there's a separate sofa area off the huge kitchen that also has a TV and wifi (perfect for our two teenagers...). The pool is large enough for grownups to feel like you can have a proper swim while also giving kids space to play with all the fantastic blow up toys (supplied). In fact it was difficult to drag the kids away from the pool! Overall the look and feel of Maison Merchand is luxurious, but practical with an everything-you-need kitchen. My favourite area has to be the magical outside eating bit where we BBQ'd and chatted most evenings, sometimes into the wee small hours.
We stayed for a week and when we were able to drag ourselves away from the pool there is a lot to do. We took a trip to Il de Re - lovely beach and good restaurants (about two hours drive); Vallee de Singes (Monkey Valley) which was a favourite with all of us and the fantastic nearby night market where we bought some duty free.
