Bruce and Rita are amazing hosts! From the time we arrived and through the weekend they were as accessible as needed. The care they provide to their guests and the amenities of Three Bears Cabin is uncommonly delightful! Kitchen fully stocked to prepare meals, paper products of quality (paper towels and toilet paper) clean, clean, clean! The cabin is tucked in beautiful trees with a view of the lake. Outdoor seating galore with a porch swing to enjoy nature. Hospitality was above and beyond - thank you to our new friends, Rita and Bruce! See you soon, hopefully!
Great host! Bruce and Rita are wonderful. Cabin is clean and very well equipped.
Nice view of the lake. Must be able to navigate steps down to the dock and back.
Very enjoyable stay.
Family of 4 LOVED this cozy cabin!
If you are looking for a place to get away and disconnect (but not completely), this is it. Nestled amongst the trees, the cabin provides a view of the beautiful lake. Plenty of outside seating options to take it in from the back porch.
The cabin still had amenities of Wi-Fi and DirecTV (for the kids when having some quiet relaxing time). Bruce and Rita were 100% responsive to any questions we had. They live on the property, too. We cooked all of our meals on the BBQ grill - the kitchen was fully equipped to stash and prep our groceries. We utilized their deck to fish and swim (and rented their boat) to enjoy the lake. Going during the week, we had the entire lake to ourselves. No busy lake traffic at all. NOTE TO OTHER TRAVELERS - there are many steps to get down to the dock. This was not a problem for us, but wanted to share that with other travelers who might not be able to make the up and down trips. Bruce and Rita were great hosts and made our time as their guests great!
Thank you, Jenifer, for your kind review. We enjoyed meeting your family, and your children are precious. Your family are the perfect guests and we highly recommend you. We hope to see you again soon here at Beautiful Lake Palo Pinto!
Bruce and Rita
The best place for a family!
First off, Bruce and Rita were absolutely AMAZING! Everything was so perfect. They made it a fantastic weekend! Such a nice place! And they were absolutely awesome to my two boys! There’s not a rating high enough for 3 bears cabin! Will definitely be coming back!
Palo Pinto Getaway
Property owner, Bruce was very friendly and accommodating. The view from property is amazing. Great location to star gaze. The cabin had all the essentials one would need for quick get away. The property is located close proximity to owners main house and another home, Is great if anything were to go wrong. Overall, super satisfied with experience.
One of our little know secrets at Lake Palo Pinto is our rated dark night star gazing out your back door. We offer jet ski and boat rentals for skiing, tubing and boogie boarding. We also have great fishing for croppy and catfish.
About Bruce Finley
Rita and I are semi-retired and live between our home here at Lake Palo Pinto and our ranch in central Texas. We enjoy meeting and hosting folks from all over Texas and the Country. We both grew up in Texas and attended Baylor University where we met, graduated and married 43 years ago.
Bruce Finley purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Bruce Finley chose Gordon
We love the serenity of Lake Palo Pinto. It is a hide-away that we want to keep secret to all but our friends and visitors. It is one of the few places that is dark enough on a clear night that you can follow the milky way as if it were a bright road in the sky. It's far enough away from any City that the light or noise does not effect the piece and quite. But most importantly it is made up of families whose children are now the adults and they are welcoming their grand children as their parents welcomed their families members many year ago to come and enjoy the lake.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our cabin was built in the 1980's by the original owner of the property as a weekend home for their family to have a get-a-way from the hustle and bustle of the big city of Fort Worth, Texas. It was a one bedroom, one bath home with a big living area that looked over the lake out the back door. The charm of the home, that their children helped build, just played into all the grandchildren coming and going as their parents did at the same age. We have kept the old homey feeling but converted some of that large space to a 2nd bedroom and updated the kitchen and bath/shower.
