A half bathroom was added to the home in 2016, and is located off of the master bedroom.

About Veia Swartz
Iaorana! My name is Veia. My husband Matt & I are the proud owners of 'Fare Marama' on the beautiful island of Moorea. 'Marama' is our Tahitian married name, that was given to us by my family on our wedding day. I was born on the island of Tahiti but grew up on Maui. My Mother was also from Tahiti, and I still have quite a bit of family there. While growing up, I spent many Summers in Tahiti and Moorea. Moorea was a favorite destination for my Dad and I, and it was always a dream to be able to own a home there one day. That dream was fulfilled in 2015 with the purchase of 'Fare Marama'. We truly love our home away from home, and look forward to welcoming you as a guest very soon! Matt and I and our three children reside in Maui, Hawaii.
Veia Swartz purchased this House in 2015
Why Veia Swartz chose French Polynesia
I fell in love with this property and home when I first saw it in 2008. However, it was not for sale at that time. In 2015 the stars aligned, when we discovered that the original owners were ready to sell. The rest as they say is history, and we feel so blessed to be the owners of this lovely and unique home.

Stunningly beautiful property.
We stayed for 3 nights at this beautiful house on our island hopping adventure. We rented a car which I would absolutely advise doing. It is very easy to drive around and It does give you a much better sense of the culture of the island. The house is exactly as shown in the photos. We stayed in the larger bedroom which has an ensuite. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows heavenly. As written in other reviews, there is no air conditioning. But many fans are provided and we didn't find it an issue. The views from the wrap around deck are incredible and ever changing with the position of the sun. Take the jet-ski tour with the company across the bay. It was a wonderful experience and swimming with the stingrays and sharks is an unforgetable experience. Happy hour at the Hilton is a worthwhile trip (only 10 minutes away). We had lunch at Les Tipaniers (very casual, right on the beach) with absolutely delicious food.
We also had lunch at Snack Mahana also with very delicious food but incredibly slow service. But you're on vacation...right? We went out for one dinner at the highly recommended Moorea Beach Cafe. Arrive in time for sunset. The service was superb but we were disappointed with the food. Moorea is a beautiful island and staying at this stunning home will only add to your island experience.
Fabulous Views Everywhere
Veia was very easy to deal with and responded quickly, her caretakers were very attentive and even had the place ready earlier than promised since we arrive on a morning ferry. I do not think you will find better mountain/bay views anywhere. We were able to see the Paul Guigan at anchor at the mouth of our bay for 2 nights. The house is well equipped for 2 couples. Internet access was fine we only lost it twice in 4 days for a short while. The bedrooms were comfortable and we enjoyed having 1 1/2 bathrooms making it easier to share. Laundry facilities were appreciated. There is no television but many dvds to watch at night. The only negative is there is no air conditioning. Not a big issue but would make sleeping easier if the bedrooms had it, the fans where not enough. We were here in March so if it is a cooler time of year this will not be any issue. We were sorry we had to leave a day early due to the general strike in Tahiti planned for our departure day. Overall a magical spot. Be sure and snorkel "the wall" in the bay in front of the house.
Thanks for your lovely review of the home. I'm glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay at the house!
Beautiful property with phenomenal view
Gorgeous, gorgeous home. Veia, the owner, was super responsive and gracious via email. We had some confusion over published check-in times (the ones I received weren't the ones she had published on VRBO) and she graciously allowed us to check in earlier. When the wifi wasn't working, she even offered to refund us $20 per day so we could use it at the resorts (which totally charge that...even if you're eating a meal or buying a drink which I think is ridiculous). All in all, a great stay.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the home.
Despite all the confusion and internet issues, I do hope you enjoyed your time on Moorea.
Take Care and we look forward to perhaps welcoming you back someday.
A lovely home in a beautiful setting.
Really a great place to relax, waking up to a gorgeous view over the bay and the mountains. Lovely grounds, lovely home and a very accommodating owner.
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review of the home. I'm happy to hear that you were able to relax and take in all of the natural beauty Moorea has to offer.
All the best to you!
Seeing is believing!
When I first came across this listing, I thought that surely the images were edited to make the home appear more desirable. I can say with certainty that the pictures actually don't do this property justice.
The home is perched on top of a hill with breathtaking views of the bay below and it enjoys magical sunrises and sunsets. The property itself is well maintained, thanks in large measure to the efforts of several delightful caretakers, Jacques, Tom and Roger.
There is plenty of room to spread out in the house and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to whip up gourmet meals.
The only negatives we experienced while staying at the property was very slow internet (although we noticed fiber optic lines were being installed along the road below and that may solve the slow internet problem) and a lack of air conditioning. I could imagine that air conditioning is usually not required, but we experienced quite a bit of rain during our visit and it would have been nice to close up the doors and get rid of the humidity. I would not let either of these minor complaints give you pause about booking this home.
It is truly a special property and you'll come away with wonderful memories and beautiful pictures.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of my home.
I'm always so thrilled to hear that we have surpassed our guests expectations.
Without a doubt, I am blessed with three delightful caretakers. I'm very grateful for the work that Tom, Roger and Jacques do, to maintain the house and assist our guests.
Internet service on the island is very slow and sporadic. Hoping the upgrades in the future will help to speed it up.
We may consider putting air conditioners in the bedrooms in the future, as I know it would be a nice amenity for guests as well as my family when we visit :)
Thanks again, and we look forward to perhaps welcoming you back someday!
PARADISE IN PARADISE
WE'VE BEEN ALL OVER THE WORLD. NEVER EVER SEEN ANY PLACE SO LOVELY. THE GORGEOUS HOUSE HAS EVERYTHING. EVEN WIRED FOR 110V. SITS ON THE SIDE OF A HILL OVERLOOKING PARADISE. OUT THE KITCHEN WINDOW YOU SEE THE MOUNTAIN SCENE (BALI HAI) USED IN THE MOVIE SOUTH PACIFIC. YOU CAN ALMOST HEAR BLOODY MARY SINGING. THE GORGEOUS BAY BELOW IS WHERE MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY SCENES WERE SHOT. A DECK AND SLIDING GLASS DOORS SURROUND THE HOUSE. PAPAYAS, GRAPEFRUIT, AND AVOCADOS HANG FROM THE TREES FOR PICKING -- WHICH WE DID THE FIRST DAY. FLOWERS AND BIRDS ARE EVERYWHERE. THE OWNER, VEIA, IS MARVELOUS, HAS DECORATED THE HOME WITH LOVE AND SUPERB TROPICAL TASTE. EVERY CREATURE COMFORT IS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. WAIT 'TIL YOU SEE THE BATH HOUSE. UNFORGETTABLE. JACQUE, WHO LIVES IN A SMALL, ADJOINING HOUSE IS SO VERY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT. THE WORD MY WIFE USES FOR THIS IS "ZEN". WE WILL BE BACK. WHO WOULDN'T?
Dear Bill and Toni,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of my home. Despite the challenges you have had this trip, I'm glad you were at least able to enjoy some quality time at the house.
We look forward to welcoming you back someday soon!
