A haven in the Eden Valley, close to Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and The Lakes
I worked in the travel industry for many years and have never left a five star review in all categories until now.
Geltsdale is located 10 minutes from Carlisle, 15 minutes from Hadrian'sWall and 20 minutes to the Lake District. The M6 is literally minutes away and Wetheral has a number of good eating places.
Geltsdale has picture perfect views and wildlife in abundance. It is great value for money!

A hidden gem
This was our fourth time staying here. It’s a great space for a family get together. An impressive building and has a lord of the manor feel. Great open outdoor view across the countryside with deer roaming freely. We will be back again.

A rural gem
We have visited Geltsdale East Wing a number of times over the years and thoroughly enjoy staying at this beautiful property.
The apartment has undergone further refurbishment since our last visit, and the new bathrooms are superb. The kitchen is very well appointed for 5/6 guests. We particularly like watching the deer in the mornings from the kitchen/diner windows. The owners David and Julia are very welcoming and friendly.
Wetheral station is a short walk from the property for guests arriving by train or wanting to have a car free day out, we all spent a lovely afternoon out in Hexham. A new addition in the village is a fabulous ice cream parlour, not cheap but definitely worth it!
As we say every time, we will be back.

Cleanliness Issue
Building and grounds beautiful in a great location, unfortunately the cleanliness was an issue. I would expect a property to be spotless at any time but in the middle of a covid-19 pandemic I would expect extra cleaning. Very disappointing. The listing also said the property had a pool, there was no pool, again, very disappointing.

Hi Vikki I am sorry you did not think the cleanliness was up to standard, we are undertaking extra cleaning at the moment with priority being given to high touch points as per the Covid secure guidelines given. The owners do live next door to the property and had you made your issues known to them they would have addressed these straight away for you. I hope despite this you enjoyed your break with us.
