This unique late 1800s mining house was given new life with a total renovation over the past couple years. A mix of modern and reclaimed touches give you a sense of the home's history without compromising comfort. Located just three blocks from downtown Philipsburg and the award winning Philipsburg brewery, the old opera house and museums. Property is walking distance to open space to the east. Great views of Pintler mountains and Discovery ski hill from front porch. Minutes from fly fishing, skiing, Georgetown Lake, ghost towns, gem hunting etc. Oh, and the Sweet Palace! An open yet cozy layout with a mix of reclaimed materials and modern touches. A pellet stove provides additional heat and ambiance during the cooler months. The bathroom and kitchen have been totally updated with modern appliances and as many kitchen necessities as we could think of. This house has strong WiFi for remote work and streaming channels via Roku. Large outdoor patio and bbq area. House has two bedrooms (one Queen, and one twin over full bunk bed), as well as a sleeper sofa (though admittedly not the most comfortable option). We also have a sleeping pad for the floor a pack n play. This house can be booked with a second rental on the property. A detached guest suite that includes a queen bed, kitchenette (microwave, fridge, hot pot), and half bathroom (no shower or tub). It is just off the garage and perfect for guests who wish for a little additional privacy. Please refer to my other listing for details on this unit. We are happy to offer this unit at a discounted price of $60/night when booked with the main house. Message me if this is of interest to you so I can adjust the price on the cottage listing. Connie was great! She was always available when we needed something. Everything was amazing. Very cute little house in a great location. We had a great time. Definitely worth the stay.
Connie had great communication and easy to get ahold of. Clean property and had everything we needed. Easy check in and check out process. Close enough to walk to town. Toys for kids and was nice to have coffee and cream available. It was also a very nice touch that Connie had the house inside and out decorated for Christmas.
Adorable home in Philipsburg. Thoughtfully furnished and super amenities. The perfect place to stay. Will definitely book again next time I’m in the area. Excellent host!
We are regulars at this lovely home perched on a hillside above Philipsburg, walking distance to town and all its attractions. It is cozy and comfortable, well-appointed and beautifully decorated. We love sitting on the front porch and enjoying the view.
great location - easy walk into town, hill-climb back might be a bit much if you are not acclimated to the altitude, relax and enjoy the sunset from the front porch
Propert was located up above Phillipsburg with a very nice yard and view! A little cool while we were there but the yard would be very nice to spend time in. The house was clean and well maintained! Easy check in and Connie was very prompt at answering all our questions. Would recommend!
The owner is a great communicator and returns messages within minutes. This home is a delightful place to stay in charming Philipsburg. It's a very old house but the owners have modernized it while keeping it's charm. There are so many amenities--the best stocked kitchen I've ever experienced in a vacation rental, great outdoor spaces with a fire pit, lots of kids' toys, games and DVDs, and of course, a great view from the front porch. This property would be great for a family (also an additional cottage right behind the house.). In addition, there are lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation--skiing, a ghost town, Georgetown Lake, and hiking.Don't miss the brewery and candy store in town.We will certainly stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay the property is so cute. We were able to use the fireplace one evening out back and greatly enjoyed having access to everything we needed for cooking. Communication was always available to us. It is walking dostance to exploring downtown, but is a big hill walking back up. That part didn't bother ud and was good exercise after a big breakfast. It was a wonderful stay!
This is our second stay and our kids call it our blue house home! It is cozy and comfortable and relaxing. We drink coffee on the front porch and sit in the grass on the hill while the kids play.
This house is super cozy, beautifully decorated and very clean. The kitchen was perfect for meal prep and the backyard seemed like a little oasis. From the front patio you have a stunning view of the town and valley sitting in those comfortable patio chairs. I would most definitely recommend this place for your next stay in Philipsburg!!!
I live in Missoula with my family to include our 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter. We are ambitious travelers and have enjoyed using vrbo and airbnb sites to find unique places to stay. We have learned from our experiences what we appreciate in a vacation rental home. We hope we have created a comfortable space for you to visit in Philipsburg, MT. The renovation of this home has been a labor of love for us. We spend a great deal of time here ourselves when we are not renting it to others. We are happy to share information on the Philipsburg or Missoula areas as you need. Feel free to ask!
Why they chose this property
We purchased this as a vacation home in 2015 after falling for the views, history, and proximity to downtown. This is a late 1800s property which we have lovingly restored to reflect the past, as well as tying in some modern touches including upgraded appliances and strong wifi.
What makes this property unique
Morning sunrise from the living room and impressive and expansive views off the front porch. Easy easy access to hiking to the east of the property. Just a 3 block stroll to downtown. Fire pit and outdoor dining/bbq area out back. Home can be rented along with a guest cottage which offers an added bathroom and extra bedroom. The rental rate for the cottage is discounted to $50/night with the main house. We are continuing to work on enhancing the home for ourselves and our friends and guests. We genuinely welcome feedback so feel free to share your thoughts. Thank you!
