The Villa Ricardo is a charming villa located in a beautiful slope above the entrance of Porto da Cruz.

It is a large property with a high level comfortable accommodation in a quiet location, has several terraces enjoying uninterrupted panoramic sea view, and a subtropical garden of exotic fruit trees and small banana trees.

The property owner valued a stylish and friendly environment. The house has 3 double bedrooms, (with the possibility of an extra bed and cradle for baby), all with private bathroom (shower) and TVset. In the winter all the rooms are heated by a device that recovers the heat released by the fireplace, and automatically distributes it to the rooms.

The sitting-room is equipped with TVset, DVD, Stereo System, Computer, Internet WI-FI, Safety Deposit Box, WC, and the kitchen is fully equipped.

Outside you can enjoy the subtropical garden of exotic fruit trees, the heated pool and the sunbathing area with views to the ocean and to the Village. It's a truly magical and relaxing scenario!

In September, wine is made in Villa Ricardo, by a centennial traditional process and our guests are invited to participate in the making of wine!
There is also a historical wine cellar where guests are invited to taste our wines!!

Lovely stay!

This was a super cool stay in Madeira. The area was great and the property managers were so accommodating- we got in so late due to a plane delay but they were so understanding and made sure they were at the house checked in. Had a great time here!

Madeira vacation

We stayed four nights and loved the place. Beautiful, well maintained house, grounds and pool. Met with host's representative who [personally showed us everything. And Porta da Cruz a lovely small town with amazing ocean and mountain landscapes. Would return here next visit.

Family one week holiday

Perfect Madeira Getaway

We had two families (7 people total) stay here for our short trip to Madeira and this location and villa was absolutely perfect! The pool was a favorite by all, especially the kids. The location in Porto da Cruz was great and an easy walking distance into town, which had great options for food, drinks and activities. It was also convenient to other towns nearby. Ricardo (owner) and Rubina (property manager) were very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely stay here in the future!

House was comfortable and safe. The heated pool was the gem of the house. Being able to walk to town for groceries and Restaurants was Super nice. Not sure if it’s the season but the sun doesn’t hit the patios, Because they are Blocked By The hill. Town is nice and quiet and friendly

Charming Villa Ricardo

The villa is charming and cozy with plenty of room for 3 couples. Our host Ricardo was very attentive to our group and we had a wonderful time sampling beverages with him. The kitchen is small but the villa was in walking distance to many excellent restaurants in Porto da Cruz. There are many outdoor areas to relax in and the property is beautifully landscaped with fruit trees of all kinds. Thanks to Ricardo and Rubina for making this a memorable stay. I would definitely recommend the villa and hope to visit again.

Everything it was purported to be. Excellent condition, spotlessly clean. We were met by the owner and local contact (multi-lingual) despite our horrifically late arrival time (flight nightmares!). Easy to find, close to amenities while retaining some seclusion.

Excellent accomodation. Very well kept, and clean, with all necessary amenities in place. Beautiful viwes on the ocean and the mountains from the house. Very comfortable and a pleasant stay. Special thanks to the owner of the villa Mr. Ricardo and the houskeeper Betty who was extremely friendly and helpful in everything. Beautiful surroundings, easy access to the ocean and the beach. Overall imperession is extremely good. Villa Ricardo made our holidays in Madeira unforgettable!

After a warm welcome by Mrs Rubina we have had a wonderful week. The house has a great atmosphere. The property is clean. The service is good. A lot of things to do. Santana, Quieradas, Funchal, Faial, Pico Ruivo, Pico do Areiro, Puerto Moniz etc. The swimming pool of villa Ricardo and the surrounding garden are wonderful. We can recommend this house.

Charming Village and Villa

The house is beautiful, clean, comfortable and full of great amenities. We loved sitting on the front porch taking in the water views over the village. No need to venture far as the village is walkable, has great shops for basic food and the restaurants are all wonderful! Major grocery store is a 10 minute drive. Make sure to do the waterfront walking path at the village especially if the waves are on the larger size. It’s quite a show. The property around the villa are beautiful and lush.

Wonderful place to spend the vacation

We spent two beautiful weeks in this nice house with a great view to the sea. The house has 3 bedrooms with separate bathrooms and separate entrances. There is a nice and clean pool where you can enjoy the mild weather under banana trees. All facilities such as washer, dryer, dish washer, satellite TV, WLAN etc. are available. Several restaurants and the beach are within walking distance. The friendliness of the housekeeper and the owner was really outstanding. Really the only somewhat disturbing item was the road next to the house with quite some traffic in the morning.

Dreamy Madeira

Visiting Madeira alone was a dream but the Villa added so much more magic to it. The views from the Villa were amazing, you could hear the ocean; in addition to the view the pool was an added bonus. The host was amazing as well as the housekeeper and since we didn’t drive, and it hard to get around the area where the Villa is located the housekeeper’s husband offer to drive us wherever we needed to go (ofc for a fee), which was super helpful and nice to us. We spend most of the time right in the neighborhood as there were a lot of places to explore and great restaurant near by. Would definitely recommend! Communication was a breeze with the host as well as the housekeeper , as we had her number and were able to contact her with any questions or concerns.

A warm welcoming house

The house was very good with three nice bedrooms and a separate bathroom to each of them - plus a door to the terrace from each of them as well! The livingroom was quite cozy, but maybe a bit dark. The service was as excellent as the view from the terrace and the swimmingpool. I remember with pleasure the nice welcoming and the possibility to pick bananas directly from the garden. The only cloud was the weather that was rain almost every day when we were there. But the house we really enjoyed! A nice surprice was also that there is a very nice little town just in walkingdistance - and it has many cafees and two good restaurants, a bakery etc. Actually it seems to be one of the nicest towns in Madiera!

Porta da Cruz

Check in and info about the property were excellent. The owner and property manager were both there to show us the property and answer questions as well as give us tastes of Ricardo’s wine. Madeira and treat were there as a welcome. The house was spotless. It was too cool to use the pool but there was great outdoor space and the view was beautiful and the garden private. An additional terrace was off 2 of the bedrooms with the pool area accessed through one of the bedrooms. We loved being able to walk into town for dinner and enjoyed each of the places we tried right on the water. The kitchen was small and dated but we just used it for breakfast and lunch prep. The property is comfortable but modest and for that reason our rating is 4 . However, it was a great location for what we wanted do on our visit and met all of our needs

Lovely Place, I wish was my own

Our group of 4 had an amazing stay at Villa Ricardo. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the hostess and the owner's very sweet father, our incredible experience began. Loved the tour of the house as we arrived, helped us navigate better during our stay, versus having to figure it out on our own. The family who owns the house clearly values their property and their guests experience. We used the pool and outdoor shower every single day. It was a short walk (although slightly steep) to the village of Porto da Cruz. We didn't use the small kitchen very much, but it was decently stocked and had a dishwasher which we appreciated. Internet only really worked in the living room, but that kept us off our devices and more present with each other, a hidden gift. The beds were comfortable, an extra pillows were available, which is great for my bad neck. No screens on the windows meant we needed bug repellant to sleep, but we sure loved waking up to the sound of the distant church bells! It was such a great stay, we will definitely seek this special place out again on our next visit! Thanks for everything!

Villa Ricardo was as described and clean and comfortable for our stay. Ricardo Senior and Mrs. Rubina were very welcoming, treating us to wine samples during our stay. Communication with Ricardo Junior was very good. The location was very convenient for east island hikes and adventures. Although small, the kitchen was fine for our group of 4 adults. We were grateful for the heaters provided as the weather was damp & cool for the first few days of our stay. And Pipas Restaurant & Bar, in the village, will make you feel like family.

Schöner Aufenthalt

Die Kommunikation und der Empfang waren sehr gut. Der Aufenthaltsraum ist relativ düster. Wenn man sich auf dem schönen Sitzplatz aufhalten kann, spielt das keine Rolle. Der Pool ist schön, aber nicht wie im Inserat angepriesen beheizt! Es hatte doch einige Spinnen und Krabbeltiere im Haus, was bei einer gründlichen Reinigung nicht der Fall wäre.

Beautiful villa with gorgeous outdoor views

Great villa with lovely pool area among banana trees & grey front porch with view to the sea. Even has a washer & dryer! Exceedingly hospitable host, who even let us taste wine from his wine cellar. We highly recommend as Villa and enjoyed walking down into the town for Seaside dinners.

Schöner Urlaub in einer tollen Villa

Eine schöne Villa in der wir ungestört entspannen konnten. Das Haus bittet alle Dinge die man für einen schönen Urlaub benötigt. Drei Schlafzimmer, jeweils mit eigenem Bad, einen schönen großen Pool und eine große Terrasse, hier haben wir unsere meiste Zeit verbracht. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und uns wurden die Räumlichkeiten und der schönen Garten gezeigt. Im Anschluss wurde abgesprochen wann und wie oft wir den Service (Betten frisch beziehen, neue Handtücher, etc) wünschen. Diese Dienstleistungen wurden wie man es sich wünscht erledigt ohne jegliche Störung. Wir können die Villa nur empfehlen. Wenn man unbedingt etwas bemängeln wollte, dann wäre es der Ofen, der ist etwas älter aber trotzdem ok.
