We loved !!!!!
It was an absolutely beautiful house with lovely grounds and great view. The swimming pool was the icing on the cake. We all had a fantastic time and would definitely like to go back again
A great retreat
We stayed for a long weekend as a multi-generational family group to celebrate a 4th birthday, a 6th birthday, a 20th birthday and a 30th wedding anniversary. There was plenty of room for us all, including quiet areas to sit and chill in peace away from the fray. The pics on the site don't show the lovely dining room, with a long table and comfy chairs, perfect for sharing meals. There is also a small sitting room with a TV, which was an unexpected bonus. The main kitchen/living room is a great social area with fab views across the bay. Although we stayed in early November Adrian kindly kept the pool available for us, and the hardier soles amongst us enjoyed a swim daily. The water was warm, but the air temperature was not - great fun though!
The utility room has an additional fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble drier, handy for washing and drying the pool towels which were provided. The main kitchen also has a fridge and a separate freezer.
The bathrooms are all good (watch out for the shower screen in the main bathroom, as the floor can get wet if you are not careful). The beds were comfy with good quality pillows and duvets. The view from the main bedroom and the single room adjacent to it are super - we could watch the sunrise over the sea whilst still relaxing in bed!
There is plenty of crockery and cutlery along with large pots and pans and utensils galore. There were also some basics provided, such as bin liners, matches (greatly appreciated for lighting the candles on the birthday cake - as no-one had remembered to bring any!) dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc. all of which was really useful.
Some of the party visited the pub at the bottom of the hill for a drink and a meal, the walk back up the hill certainly burnt off a few calories afterwards!
The views were phenomenal. The location stunning.
We had problems with gaining access which was probably miss communication with prompt rectification. The house is superb and fit for purpose. We had a lovely quality time with our family, however, there was a problem with flies which resulted in is not being able to open any windows within the house. We were informed that this was common at this time of the year (Oct half term) however we did our own research and found out that the problem can be controlled somewhat. There was a distinct lack of outside lightening proving little dangerous at times especially with small children in tow.
The house was very clean and well presented which amazed us especially after a long drive.
Jean and company
We had an excellent weekend stay in the the vineyard property. I have to ask the rest of the party about their say on our stay? In which we are all in same opinion to give a five stars. The house was very spacious and the kitchen appliances is superb. We had some issues which was immediately sorted out by Adrian ( the owner) who was just one call to attend our problem and to Cathy who was very good in keeping in touch with me. And most of all for Adrian's consideration for allowing us to stay a bit longer on the day of our check out.
To both of you.
Gracias Senior and Seniora
Just the best house for a Family Group
We were a large Family Group comprising Grandparents , Parents , with some Teenagers and younger children .
I would rate The Vineyard the best house we have stayed in over the last few years .
It is very spacious , very comfortable , and has the most amazing views down to Seaton and Whitsand Bay .
The Pool was a great asset and nice and warm and we didn't come across any maintenance issues that others have talked about .
The cleaning run by Kat and her team was excellent . The house was immaculate when we arrived .
We had a dog and to be able to walk him in 32 acres of private land including a vineyard early in the morning was a great bonus .
We were lucky with the weather for most of our stay and the pool , BBQ , and outside dining table were lovely complete with views
Highlights of our stay
- Theatre Royal in Plymouth
- Swimming in the Pool at sunrise with an orange sky backdrop
- Surfing was better than we thought having been on the North Coast in previous years and once you get down to Whitsand Bay it is a sandy beach that runs for miles
- 3 Hour Kayaking Adventure with Active 8 on the Fowey river . So beautiful with Egrets , and Kingfishers etc but Serena the local resident Seal didn't make an appearance . Would recommend Active 8
- Kartworld in Looe was very popular with our Teenagers . We didn't go on the Zipwire nearby but that looked incredible
- Golf at St Mellion was also incredible . The principal course was beautiful , immaculate , and very challenging . I will find a way to play there again !!!
All in all I couldn't recommend The Vineyard more highly
I am pleased you had such a good holiday and liked the house and views. My boys also like the fast go cart circuit and surfing on Whitsand Bay but we will have to try the Kayaking at Fowey.
Great house, lovely pool
This was perfect for a birthday get together for a group of friends. We had a mixture of ages including young children and the house was very well equipped and comfortable for us. The view from the pool terrace never got old and the local area was great to explore as well.
