the place was great but the host was a little stand off could have been a little more friendly
a little far from town but the place was so pretty .
We do try very hard to welcome our guests on their arrival. We encourage 'self check-in' and once you are here, we try to make sure you are comfortable, give you space to relax and enjoy. I sincerely apologize if you felt we were aloof. This was certainly not our intention. We will strive harder to prevent this perception from being belt by others.
A place to get away from it all
If you're looking for a place to relax that is away from it all, this is it. Instead of city lights you see the clear night sky as you sit out on the porch sipping on some wine. This was the perfect place for us to get away for a few days to recharge the batteries.
Ramon, Please accept our sincere thanks for your gracious review. We are so happy to hear that you found our little corner of the world as relaxing and special as we do. Being near the creek, with all the trees, birds, quiet and dark skies at night makes it the very best if you are visiting from the city. We hope you and your wife are able to find time to make another visit, sometime in the future. It would certainly be our pleasure!
P.S. I'm really happy you were able to enjoy the wine!

Quiet and Cozy
What a pleasant stay, if only for two nights. We kept wondering what was wrong. All we could hear was the sound of the leaves rustling and the birds chirping. NO CITY NOISE!
The cabin had everything we needed. Rustic, just the way I like it.
Watching the staff working the horses in the corral was an added attraction.
You can hike up the mountain (fairly steep and rocky) or hike the roads for miles of pretty rolling countryside.
Tammy's Cafe in Cliff is a local place with pretty good food and local flavor.
Thanks to everyone for a great stay.

Nice Old Rustic Cabin
My husband and I really enjoyed the rustic western charm of the cabin. It is cozy and comfortable, especially the bed, which is very important to me! The views are beautiful and we enjoyed a short hike, and also visiting the horses.
Thanks Debbie and Allen for a wonderful stay!
Thanks, Dana. Your comments are appreciated - as is your feedback. We hope to see you on a return visit.
Peace, beauty, comfort, rest!
First, thanks to Debbie, Allen, JayJay, and the horses for helping us feel right at home. I've never slept in a more comfortable bed, or on a more comfortable pair of couches. Whenever either of us sat down to read, the couches seemed to embrace us and put us to sleep. And that was just fine. As were the rockers on the porch, where we'd watch the birds and the trees and all the different shades of green against the impossibly blue sky. Thanks to evening rains in the high country, two of the creeks had enough water for minnows to exist, and the whole countryside was green. Although it was blazing hot during mid-day, the cabin's AC and ceiling fans kept us comfortable. And the stars, the milky way even, were breathtaking. Although the cabin is rustic, it had every convenience a person needs, and everything worked Even wifi. Visiting the horses was a daily treat, and on one visit I chanced to meet the owner's 9-yr old grandsons who were out walking dogs. I've never met such socially sophisticated and mannerly kids. The world needs more people like these. Except for these chance meetings, nobody bothered us, no overly solicitous visits from owners, and no chummy visits from kids or dogs. Just peace. I could've stayed there forever. But you DO want to do your shopping before you settle in! Although Silver City is only 25-27 miles away, that's a drive we didn't want to have to make until it was departure time. So THANK YOU to the Egglestons for sharing your joy and for giving such good instructions!!!
