Casa Bonita is situated in one of the most beautiful white washed villages of Andalusia, Comares. My husband Alfredo and I would like to invite our guests for a very special holiday experience that shows them the real soul of Andalusia.
Comares has been elected ‘Pueblo magico d’España’ because it shows its visitors, history, nature, beauty, authenticity and peace.

Casa Bonita is a typical cosy townhouse but with all modern necessities, induction stove, aircon, hispeed internet, etc… Although it is situated in the centre of Comares, it is in a very calm area and the roof terrace offers breathtaking views to the Sierra Tejeda and Mediterranean.

The village shops, restaurants and bars are at walking distance and just a 5 minutes-walk takes you in the middle of incredibly beautiful nature. Several signposted hiking trails lead you through the olive and almond groves on the mountain flanks. Just outside Comares begins the famous protected nature reserve Montes de Malaga.
Maybe you would like to take a ride on Spain’s biggest Tirolina, which also has 3 via’s ferrata’s with spectacular views. You also can use sportfields and a padel court for free.
In July and August the public open-air pool of Comares is opened, it is at walking distance form Casa Bonita and you can enjoy a beautiful day for a small fee.

Most people here live from the hard work on their ‘campos’, harvesting olives, almonds and algarrobas and will gladly and proudly show you how they work, should you meet them during your walks. Please don’t fear that the language might be a problem. The language of friendship is universal. Enjoy nature at its best!

And how about following the ceramic footsteps through the narrow streets to discover the Moorish past of the village?
People are gentle and friendly here and you really have to try the culinary gems of the Andalusian kitchen.

We were greeted by Susanna who speaks great English & explained all about the house,etc. Our host left a welcome basket & local wine, that was most appreciated.As the narrow streets are pedestrian & down from the square there are plentiful, safe spaces to park. Lolas convienience store, who open daily & will give you the warmest welcome. We recommend the croissants she sells each morning and the nearby bar does great coffee with freshly made churrus & thick chocolate.The host leaves everything you need for a home from home stay and the views day & night from the roof terrace do not disappoint. Casa Bonita is a beautiful house well presented and is rather tardis like in its clever layout. The bedrooms are great sizes with plenty of storage.Much thought has gone into providing everything for your stay & the decor is rustic Spanish with many added extras. A well stocked kitchen, plus shops and restaurants nearby, mean that you can choose to cook at the house or eat out easily. There are many nearby walks and the beaches are a short drive away.The Green Olive restaurant serves great food and you must try the desserts..leave room they are big.The bar on the square serves drinks and filling plates of food both establishments are friendly and welcoming, as is the town.Malaga city is well worth a visit, we also recommend Granada if you have a car.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the host and house. Very relaxing.

Lovely peaceful stay

The property is in a lovely location. Comares is a quiet little town in the mountains, perfect for peace and quiet. There are also many nice walks, both short and long which you can take from the property without the need of a car. The house is also really nice, very quirky with iron staircase going over 4 levels. The view from the roof terrace is stunning, we spent so much time just reading there and enjoying the views. The only downside is the house is quite cold in the winter as there is only single glazing, and the front door is a big metal door with many air gaps. So if in winter plan to buy wood for the stove, around 15-20 euro per week (guy in the town sells it and delivers to house), and use the fire everyday. But I think this is common for Spanish homes, they are not built to handle cold, they are built to say cool in the heat. Maria and Vi were also brilliant communicators before we arrived. They were constantly updating us on new covid restrictions and how it would affect us/what we could do before we arrived. It was really reassuring to have such nice and informative hosts during such a difficult time. We would definitely be back to enjoy the views and all Comares and the surrounding area has to offer.

We zijn geweldig ontvangen door Susana. Pilar had een lekker welkomspakket in het huis klaargezet. Voor onze hond was er een mand, deken, vier- en drinkbeker klaar gezet. Het huis heet niet alleen Casa Bonita, maar is ook Bonita. Centraal gelegen in het dorp Comares. Comares is een mooi en leuk dorp waar van alles wordt georganiseerd. We hebben genoten van ons verblijf!

Like coming home

Susana hat uns herzlich empfangen und uns Casa Bonita übergeben. Alles war wie beschrieben, außer die Dachterrasse, die ist unbeschreiblich. Der Ausblick, die Ruhe und das kühle Lüftchen das dort immer weht, sind nicht zu überbieten.Comares ist geeignet als Ausgangspunkt für Exkursionen zu den Highlights Andalusiens.Nach den Ausflügen hatten wir immer das Gefühl wieder daheim zu sein.Das ist es, was Casa Bonita ausmacht.B&G

Great host and house with perfect location.

We had a great time staying in Comares. The house is lovely and is very close to everything. It is literally 50ft from the main plaza. There is a Bar and a restaurant in the plaza, however, we really liked to go to Pepa's for breakfast, which also is very close to the house. Do try the Mirador it is down the hill from the village, but is very good. We stayed for a month and found the location perfect for exploring Andalusia. The roof terrace has a beautiful view of the village, mountains and the Med. Great place for a cafe in the morning and a Tinto Verano in the evening.

Coronaende

Ich war vom 6.1.20 bis 15.3.20 in diesem wunderschönen kleinen Haus in dem wunderschönen Comares. Leider mussten wir, wegen der Coronapandemie das Haus vorzeitig verlassenum nach Deutschland zurück zu kehren. Wir wären sonst in die Ausgangssperre geraten. Die Vermieter Pilar, Alfredo und Veerle sind wirlich äusterst herzliche Menschen und wir haben uns mit ihnen sehr wohl gefühlt. Volker April 2020

Beautiful well-situated little house in Comares.

This property is situated in the gorgeous little village of Comares on top of a mountain about an hour north-east from Malaga. Its unique design and build offers both comfort and amazing views from its roof-top terrace. From there the sea is visible and the lights of the nearby coastal towns. During warmer weather ts a good place to have dinner or just a drink, see beautiful sunsets and just watch the evening go by. Inside the house a spiraling staircase takes you up from the main floor to the kitchen area to the bathroom, where the washer and dryer are located, and bedrooms at the top, just before leading to the open terrace on the roof. The rooms are small by non-european standards, but very cozy and have all the comforts for feeling just like at home. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils and appliances, though does not have a dishwasher. The main floor has a wall-mounted TV and WIFI. There is also a functioning fireplace and a remote-controlled unit installed for A/C and heating. Such units are also installed in each of the bedrooms. They work well and heat up or cool down the room area pretty quickly. The house was very clean and pleasant on arrival. Pilar and Alfredo were excellent hosts who provided information about the area and responded to any requests the same day. They are the friendliest and most attentive hosts I have experienced at a rented property. I never had any problems or experienced any discomforts at the property or the surroundings. The village is safe and welcoming. There are several restaurants and bars nearby for an excellent meal and great drinks. The town square is a great place to socialize with the locals or visitors, while taking in the views from the scenic overlook. People are friendly and you never feel like an outsider. I would definitely recommend the property to anyone staying long or short-term to see the beauty and charm of this village from the mountaintop. Its quite a breathtaking experience that isn't quite the same as down at sea level. I am very glad and excited to have met Pilar and Alfredo and enjoyed their cozy home.

Fabulous traditional property with stunning views

From the time of booking to our arrival and throughout our visit communications with the owner were excellent with nothing too much trouble. The traditional townhouse property showed amazing attention to detail with everything we required for a relaxing home from home self catering holiday. A spotlessly clean home with well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture, super comfy beds, amazing air conditioning throughout, lovely bathroom and a well equipped roof terrace. The views from the master bedroom and roof terrace are simply stunning, overlooking the village, whole countryside to the mountains and down to the sea. The house is located right on the Plaza with pharmacy, bars, restaurants shops, bakery and tourist information offices within walking distance. Comares is a beautiful town and a walk through its winding streets is a must to appreciate its charm. This was a fabulous holiday and we would love to stay again

We're Alfredo and Pilar. We grew up in Comares and are still in love with this unique village.
Working conditions forced us to move to Benalmadena but our sisters and brothers still live in the village. Whenever we can, we come back 'home' to visit them.
When we moved out, it was hard to leave behind the house that had been our warm home for so long and where we had been so happy.
Every time we came back, we found it very sad that the house seemed to have lost its soul.
And so, one day, we decided to go for it and turn it into a vacation house with 'a heart'.
We've spend many hours, redecorating and modernising it, but most off all, making it a 'home' for our guests. We're very proud of the result and hope our guests will have the same happy feeling when they stay in Casa Bonita.
