About this property

Sailor's House between sea and mountains. 3km.to beaches, 10min. to Málaga centr

Our family resides on the same property, in the main house.
We have two houses for rent in this agricultural property, each one totally independent and with its own large private terrace.
The swimming pool and the tennis court are shared by those who occupy these two houses, but all the other equipment is totally individual.
It would be interesting to rent both houses by the same family or group of friends if you want to have exclusive use of the pool or the tennis court.
This is a peaceful and quiet place, away from the noise of the city, but only five to ten minutes from one of the main arteries of Malaga, close to the beaches which have places where you can play beach volleyball and football, as well as an area of typical fish restaurants.Only 15 minutes from the historical, commercial and cultural centre of the city. The city of Malaga is an outbreak of colour, light, music and joy when their celebrations of Carnivals, Holy Week, Festivity of San Juan, Festivity of Our Lady Virgen del Carmen, Malaga Fair, City's Patron Saints' Days, Christmas are celebrated. And in where their folkloric gastronomy (tapas), customs and traditions like the flamenco one can be known first hand.
A fast and easy access to the Barcelona-Cadiz freeway, which allows you to visit the surrounding villages of our province (Ronda, Nerja, Marbella, Antequera, etc.) and also Granada, Córdoba, Sevilla and Cádiz.

Really nice place to relax

The house is surrounded by mountains. You have easy access to the beach, the city and nature park for hiking. Here you can relax and enjoy the spanish weather away from the normal tourist life. You feel to stay in Spain and not only to be part of all this main tourism.

Lovely Family Vacation in Andalucia

We stayed here as our base for a family vacation exploring Andalucia. The home had all the accommodations our family of three needed. We had plenty of room to relax in the county side, with a view of the Mediterranean, after a day trip to Cordoba or a day out in Malaga. If you are willing to walk a little, its easy to catch the local bus #34 after a short walk down the hill to bus station. Doloros and Juan Carlos were helpful and friendly. Clean, comfortable and a beautiful setting.

Awesome vacation

We had a wonderful time at Finca Santa Matilde. The house is situated on a hill surrounded by Mango trees with a beautiful view. The owners were very nice and helpful with any questions we had. A special thank you to Matilde who speaks very good english and gave us so many good ideas of where to go to learn more about Malagas history. We stayed for a whole month and enjoyed every minute. The peaceful side of Malaga

A wonderful escape just a short drive away from Pedregalejo, and easy access to historic Malaga centre. A car is useful if you are going out a lot, but we found it fine without, as we like walking. We walked into town and used the bus (line 34, you can find details on EMT Malaga website), but the best part was relaxing on the beautiful private terrace or having a cosy dinner by the fire. Best of all, you can hike back through the village and into the hills, where the peaceful surroundings are the perfect contrast to the busy city. Juan Carlos and Matilde were the kindest of hosts, and we had a great break at their beautiful farm.

Maison à Málaga Espagne

Lovely beautiful home that has everything you you need. Local bus service is also available; ALDI shop is only 20 minutes walk away. Lovely host in Juan & Matilde. Good location. Lovely hosts..., excellent size rooms - swimming pool - tennis courts. It may be a better idea to rent a car as it's a bit of a drive from Malaga seafront; and there is a 300m hike from the main gate to the main house - not too strenuous. Taxis hardly venture to the property because of the 300m hike. I will recommend this lovely place to anyone.

Wonderful week with the kids!

Beautiful secluded property in the hills with stunning views, and surrounded by mango and avocado trees. Ample outdoor space with fences all around so safe for my 2 and 4 year old to play. Pool and tennis court. Well-equipped kitchen. Very clean! The hosts were friendly and very helpful. The only negative (which isn't the fault of the owners at all!) is that there are lots of dogs in the village below the villa who all decide to bark at the same time in the middle of the night. But it's amazing how we got used to it after a few days! But only a small complaint, and everything else more than made up for it. We would love to go back.

The pictures are from another time when it was in good condition. It is getting old and faded looking. The hosts were very easy to get a hold of and were very communicative. The area is easy to find. The dogs down in the valley yell at each other every so often and the local chickens join in, otherwise it is very quiet. You can see the motorway but can’t heat it. Attached to two other houses though you cannot hear the occupiers. Too expensive for what is on offer.

Außergewöhnlich

Finca /Ferienwohnung innerhalb eines größeren Gebäudekomplexes mit guter Ausstattung und einer Riesenterasse mit vielen Relax-Möbeln. Sehr ruhig gelegen mit schöner Aussicht. Die Zufahrt (großes, geschlossenes Tor) vermittelt ein Gefühl der Sicherheit.

Großartige Unterkunft und fantastische Gastgeber

Wir haben das Haus drei Wochen im Dezember/Januar bewohnt und uns wie zuhause gefühlt. Die Gegend bietet viel Ruhe und Erholungsmöglichkeiten, man ist aber auch schnell mit dem Bus oder dem Auto in Málaga. Matilde und Juan Carlos sind sehr herzliche und liebenswerte Gastgeber. Das Haus und dessen Einrichtung entsprechen den Fotos und der Beschreibung. Wir planen auf jeden Fall jetzt schon eine Rückkehr. Vielen Dank an Matilde und Juan Carlos. Wir haben dank euch Málaga und die Region sehr gut kennen und lieben gelernt! :)

A beautiful location with great hosts

We spent a week at Finca Santa Matilde in September with our young children and their grandparents. The reception from Juan Carlos was fantastic, he met us at the local supermarket to make sure we would find the house and access it properly. Around a 20 minute drive from Malaga city, you will need a car to get about (I wouldn’t fancy walking the hill to the local Aldi!!) but the distance means you get a location that is an absolute antidote to the stress and bustle of city living. The space is fantastic, with large terraces, a swimming pool and a tennis court. The houses are well equipped- we rented both together and moved between the two via a joined terrace. It was beautiful watching the sun go down over the hills with a glass of wine. Our 3 year old loved the pool, the swing, seeing the ducks (and the neighbours escaped pig!). The grandparents spotted wild pigs and we saw lots of bats in the evening. As a location for a holiday where you want to relax, not worry about ‘doing things’ or use as a base for walks around the Malaga mountain range Finca Santa Matilde would be perfect. The hosts are brilliant and as an example, we left an item at the house which Matilde has now posted to our current location (we stayed as part of a longer Spanish road trip). We all thoroughly recommend the property and the hosts.

Super Objekt mit Pool, kleinem Tennisplatz, Terrasse, Grill. Mal etwas anderes als normale Stadtunterkünfte. Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit und kümmern sich um jede Angelegenheit. Wir haben unsere Zeit sehr genossen.

Leuk verblijf op mooie locatie

Met ons jonge gezin (3.5 en 1.5 jaar) was dit een mooi verblijf voor een week. Leuk uitzicht, voldoende schaduw en licht briesje dat de temperatuur drukt. Binnen ook koel en airco is dikke plus. Het kinderzwembadje was ideaal voor onze jonge kinderen, ook met de schaduw. Het huisje is proper en voldoende uitgerust voor alle basisnoden. Wij hadden geen problemen tijdens het verblijf maar als dat toch geweest was, kon je ervan op aan dat Juan Carlos of Matilde voor je klaar zouden staan. Communicatie verliep vlot. Wegens de rustige maar zeer landelijke ligging (met toch alles zeer dichtbij, zoals Malaga-centrum op 15min en Benalmádena op 30min) heb je zeker een auto nodig. En je moet ook van het rurale leven houden: hanen en honden in de buurt, veel vogels, enz. Het stoorde ons totaal niet, maar het is wel aanwezig.

Great views from relaxing house

Spent a lovely week here, enjoying the beautiful views from the shaded terrace. Everything was very clean. Matilde was really helpful, always on hand to ask if we needed anything, and providing information and advice. It was great having a pool in such hot weather. It's 2m deep, but our 9 yr old made the best of it. We took the bus into Centro a couple of times, which was easy and took about 20 min. Juan Carlos met us to guide us to the house for the last leg which was welcome as I think we might have struggled as the surrounding area is very steep, narrow and winding roads. The road up to the house is also slightly tricky to navigate.

Beautiful Home

Wundervolle Ferienwohnung nahe Malaga

Wir haben ein wundervolles langes Wochenende hier verbracht. Die Gastgeber sind sehr zuvorkommend und kümmern sich toll um Gäste. Der Pool und die Terrasse sind toll. Das Haus liegt in einer bergigen Gegend, die Anfahrt erfordert etwas Nerven.

Great few days shared with adult daughter who lives in central Malaga

This is a wonderful property. It’s well maintained and super clean. There is huge private terrace providing sun all day if required but there is also a shady pergola. We didn’t use the swimming pool but it looked very inviting and well maintained. There are plenty of sun beds available. All necessary equipment was provided in the house. Although it is only 15 minutes from Malaga city we found it very useful to have hired a car as the property is in the hills. Juan Carlos kindly guided us to it on arrival.. Juan Carlos and Matilde were ever present via WhatsApp for any requirement or advice.

The owners of the property are the best hosts we’ve ever had, genuinely kind and incredible people who answered any questions we had as a young family and helped us a lot when we needed it. The house was a perfect location for a quiet space, with lots great views. Definitely recommend renting a car if you’re staying as the hill is steep to get there but it’s necessary as I said as the views are great. Everything was in good working order and perfect for a simple stay.

Fantastisch!!!

Een prachtige lokatie met een enorm terras op het zuiden en westen. Het uitzicht is heel gevarieerd, je ziet de zee, prachtige rotspartijen en het dorpje. Je verblijft tussen de mango- en avocado boomgaarden. Het huis is zeer schoon en goed uitgerust. Open haard en airco die ook verwarmt tijdens de winterperiode. Mooi wandelgebied en klimgebied. Niet ver van de zee en Malaga. Verhuurders zijn zeer attent en behulpzaam en reageren heel snel. We hebben met Juan Carlos en Matilde een leuk contact gehad. Je moet niet bang zijn voor een redelijk steil zandpad naar het huis maar het is heel goed te doen. We hebben hier ruim een maand enorm genoten en raden deze finca ten zeerste aan.

But every time I like nature and the countryside, especially to see and take care of mango trees and avocado farm that my brothers and I have received from our parents.

What makes this property unique

The house is surrounded by nature, where we can breathe clean air, walk or hike, observe the small birds of the garden like the blackbirds, and the larger birds that fly from the rocks of Monte San Antón in search of food. All seasons are good for watching nature.
The Finca is surrounded by a Mediterranean landscape represented by the Monte de San Antón at the East (protected landscape), and limits to the North with the Natural Park of the Montes de Málaga. At the same time, the house is close to the beaches, 3 km. From the terrace, facing south, you can see the Mediterranean Sea.
But we are not lost in the world. We are far enough from the city to relax, but close enough to combine visits to the center of Malaga or the neighborhoods of Pedregalejo and El Palo. Far enough away from the airport and the train station to be quiet, but without having to spend more than 20 minutes to reach them. The A-7 motorway that connects us with all of Andalusia and with all of Spain is only 2.5 km away. Of the estate.
And all this combined with the possibility of doing sports on the property: swimming pool, non-professional tennis, ball games, hiking, etc. Or play in the garden. Or in the beaches.
