Woolamai Peaceful Escape

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS WOOLAMAI TOWNSHIP - NOT CAPE WOOLAMAI

If you are looking for peace and quiet away from (15 min drive) the crowds at Phillip Island, yet be close to the beaches, this is the place for you.


Freshly painted and renovated 1940's cottage set amongst oak trees, just minutes drive from kids swimming and surf beaches. Just 90 minutes from Melbourne CBD and 15 mins to Phillip Island this tranquil hide away makes this property very unique. There are no neighbours on either side or at the back. There is a fully enclosed back yard for kids. Spend sunny afternoons and evenings on the deck and BBQ area in the back yard listening to nothing but the kookaburras.

Woolamai Escape is 5 minutes walk to the Bass Coast Rail Trail. The trail has recently been extended to run parallel to the front of the house and is a beautiful choice for walking, jogging, bicycle or horseback riding. Please see the Bass Coast web site for more details.




BEDDING CONFIGURATION

Bedroom 1: 1 x Queen bed
Bedroom 2: 2 x bunk beds (4 beds total)
Bedroom 3: 1 x Queen bed

NOTE: TENANTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR OWN LINEN FOR THE DURATION OF THEIR STAY (sheets, towels & pillowcases).

For bookings over the MotoGP weekend, linen will be provided.


LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

WOOLAMAI PICNIC RACES are run seven times over the spring/summer. This is a great family friendly event at a beautiful country race track located 1 kilometre from the house. Plenty of shade and picnic tables if you get there early.

NOTE: 3 night minimum booking required over Easter, Melbourne Cup weekend, and Grand Prix.


KILCUNDA BEACH is only 7 minutes drive and is a lovely surf beach with sand and rock pools surrounded by the cliffs.

If you prefer something more gentle for the kids, CORONET BAY is less than 10 minutes drive and has a protected shallow beach with very little waves.

PHILLIP ISLAND only 15 minutes away.

NOTE: Due to fire danger, NO outside fires allowed at the property.

Really amazing place to stay private from Neighbours and very beautiful scenery

could not fault our stay,house was exactly what we needed,so much to do in phillip island for families. would definitely recommend if you like county and bush stays

Beautiful spot among the trees

This is a very basic but comfortable house in a quiet spot with kookaburras and other beautiful birds around. Great outdoor area and bbq, and big fenced back yard for dogs. If staying with others, be aware that you will need to be very compatible!

Tranquil Getaway

My husband and I had a relaxing 2 night stay at this cottage along with our 2 small dogs. The property was clean, tidy and perfectly set up to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Serene and well located

Thanks so much. Serene setting, kitchen well set-up for cooking, great location for enjoying the region, and a peaceful secure backyard for the pooch and for relaxing. We had a lovely holiday at Woolamai near the rail trail, bushwalks, beaches, Philip Island, Archies Creek et al (nb: you'll need to bring your own linen, blankets (the quilts provided are pretty hot for summer sleeps), kitchen/cleaning cloths, loo paper...).

This place is not the Ritz, but good value for money! The bed was comfy, the shower was adequate and the house was clean except for a few too many spiders in the windows/ceiling corners for my liking. Also many of the windows do not open. As there are a lot of mozzies that was OK because there was no flywire on those windows. But we had to use the AC a lot to get a cool breeze inside. Sitting out the back in the shade was pleasant.

Dog friendly gem

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our dog was safe which put our mind to rest. It was the perfect location to acess the Bass Coast Rail trail and with Phillip Island a short distance away we could do the touristy thing too.

Great place for a getaway

The house was pretty much as advertised - a charming older cottage which has been somewhat quirkily renovated and was very comfortable for our family group. Overall cleanliness was good but the kitchen cupboards could use a bit of extra love and we ended up tossing some long-expired foods left behind in the fridge. The split system kept the house nice and cool, the beds were comfy, the BBQ was an asset and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The location is gorgeous, a short drive to several local attractions, and there are magnificent views from the road. We would stay here again.

Great stay in a relaxing location.

We really enjoyed our time at Leann’s. If you want a calm, relaxing location out in the rolling hills and nature then this is a great place. As shown in the listing, the property is older, but that adds to the character and feel of the stay. It was an easy drive into Phillip Island for a surf etc each day.

Lovely relaxing stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space in the house and garden for 4 adults, three kids and two dogs. It was a comfortable house with everything you needed. It's quiet and relaxed, but close enough to Philip island and all the places you'd want to go that you don't miss out on anything. beds are comfy. Ac keeps you cool and the fire place is large, so we'd like to stay there in winter to try that out. We ate at the Indian restaurant down the road one night which was lovely. Is BYO. We would go back there. Only thing to note is there are not enough seats around the table in side if we all ate together. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely little retreat with a homely vibe

Our stay at this adorable property was really lovely. A great spot, gorgeous surrounds, handy walking track for the dogs and a great back yard for them to run around in. Highly recommend if you want someone quiet and private.

Escape to the Peace!

I loved this quiet little cottage. Spent the evening sitting on the back deck with a glass of wine listening to nothing but the birds. Tried the rail trail with my bike across the road and was pleasantly surprised to find no one on it. Kilcunda beach is another beautiful venue for a walk (few minutes drive) to listen to the waves crashing in. Great value for money. Can't wait to come back.

Love this tranquil gem

coming from a country property my husband & I both adore the tranquillity & lack of traffic noise - so very rare in a property that is minutes from a pristine coastline, wonderful coastal walks & beautiful swimmable beaches. The cottage is always clean, is well set up with everything one might need. Host has always been very prompt & helpful...this little gem has become our coastal retreat for a good reason!
