Beautiful house and amazing view. Had everything we needed. Very cizy
Many thanks for staying at our little piece of paradise. We love to share it with lovely guests like your little group.
Just as good second time
We first visited January 2017 and have just returned from our second trip- some time at Wavestation celebrating my husband’s 50th with a little trip away. The sheer tranquility and peacefulness of the location is so soul-soothing. Thank you for keeping this beautiful home so well for visitors.
Very comfortable property, relaxing home away from home, spectacular views, great base for day trips
10/10 for comfort, facilities, privacy, broad verandahs on which to relax and take in the view, a stroll down the driveway to the water for a swim, or sail your boat ! We’ll be back .
I booked Wavestation as a special romantic getaway to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. I was so disappointed when we arrived to find that this property does not have the immaculate gardens and beautiful French furnishings in the master bedroom as shown in the photographs. The gardens were mostly dead and overgrown with weeds and some of the furnishings were old and poorly maintained. The lounge chairs in front of the TV had covers which were faded & torn, exposing the inner foam. The master bedroom had bare hooks above the bedhead where pictures used to hang and instead of the gorgeous French chairs in the photos, there was a faded, old blue lounge chair in the corner. Very disappointed.
I am disappointed that you did not appreciate the unique experience available at our property. You make some valid points. Some furniture has been replaced which we regard as more suitable. There is some wear and tear and we will need to address this. We have recently recovered the very special irreplaceable old outdoor chairs in the gazebo. I will update the photographs. We have had the worst drought in Tasmania for decades so unfortunately some things have died. Fortunately, many of the large trees such as the magnificent oak tree in the front lawn have survived. The gum forest provides a haven for small native animals and birds. One night I went out with my torch and saw an Eastern Barred Bandicoot which is an endangered specie in mainland Australia. One visitor noted in the visitors’ book a large number of birds sighted in the garden. The view of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel is superb. A guest reported a sighting of a school of Minkey whales. Gardens are forever changing and we aim to provide a nice balance of European plantings and native flora. Roses are not always at their peak.
Gave us a great start to Tassie. Beautiful house in beautiful location. Generously stocked pantry.
views were great needs maintance
the chairs on arbour are unusable the pantry and fridge is full of left over food could not use bbq, carpets are clean bedrooms good all appliances worked, no tea coffee sugar or milk. It was like borrowing someone's house.
Dear Robyn Thanks for the comments. Regarding the chairs in the arbour/gazebo those chairs are quite special so we wanted to recover them. We have had new canvas covers specially made and installed. Will make sure the fridge is cleaned out properly. We will check the BBQ.
