Lagoon House is a beautifully appointed contemporary beach house with stunning indoor & outdoor entertaining areas. Enjoy spectacular ocean & bushland views from the kitchen/dining/lounge. The house sleeps 8 in 4 generous bedrooms (2 Queen & 4 Singles) with 2 bathrooms. Both queen bedrooms have private decks with an ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom. Modern chef's kitchen features 4m stainless steel island bench, dishwasher & microwave. Covered outdoor deck with large roasting BBQ facility for informal meals. Outdoor shower & lots of room for boat parking.

Lagoon House KI

Once you arrive on Kangaroo Island you are only a short drive to Lagoon House. Situated 18km from the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal or 35km from the Kingscote Airport. The house is set on the edge of an ever changing tidal lagoon. Wallabies & the Heath Goannas make their homes in the bushland surrounding Lagoon House. You can watch them from the deck as they go on their daily walks. Possums & echidnas also live close by. The safety of the lagoon makes an excellent breeding ground for many of the Island's unique bird life. Blue Wrens flit amongst the trees just outside the deck. Fish for King George Whiting off the beach or maybe feed the pelicans at sunset at Strawbridge Point. Swim in the pristine waters of Island Beach or just enjoy the silence of the beautiful bushland.

Gorgeous view!

Excellent stay. Beautiful home and view to the ocean from the large outdoor deck with a great table for meals in the evening. Host was responsive to questions. We would stay again if in the area!

Gorgeous home in a gorgeous spot

The house is beautiful and very comfortable. As a bonus, we saw small kangaroos hopping around at dusk and dawn from the house's deck. Please drive safely and slowly on KI -- particularly at dusk/dawn -- to help protect this wonderful place. Thanks for a great stay!

Best Home Base on KI

Our stay at Lagoon House in October was simply exceptional. The home itself was well-appointed, beautifully maintained, and conveniently-located. The bed warmers were a nice surprise! We woke to stunning pink sunrises on the balcony and drove past abundant wildlife in the evening. A quick drive each night brought us to Penneshaw for dinner. The days were filled with all of the amazing things KI has to offer. Absolutely the highlight of our trip to Australia! Joan was an incredibly accommodating host and proactively reached out with suggestions/recommendations prior to arrival. We were a group of adult friends traveling, and we were absolutely giddy everytime we passed by a wallaby or kangaroo on the side of the road. We enticed them with the host-provided Roo food, and even named several of them as we went. 11/10 stars!!

Modern home with excellent views

We really enjoyed the lagoon house - the interior was modern and clean, with an excellent kitchen and living room. It was chilly during our stay, but the deck looked like an excellent place to relax on a warmer day. The house also feels very private and has gorgeous views of the surrounding forest and ocean in the distance. It isn't near any town, which has pros and cons, but you can get to town within a 20 minute drive. We would definitely come again!

Splendidly clean with everything you need

Joan was quick to respond and provided a seamless check in experience. The house itself was very clean and had all the accessories required for a very comfortable stay, including cooking items. Didn’t have any opportunity to explore the neighbourhood though. Would highly recommend the place!

Fabulous Holiday House

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in this gorgeous house. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. Super comfortable warm bed and lovely bathroom with nice towels and handsoap. Beautiful balcony off master bedroom and the main balcony and view is stunning. It is a super large deck with a fabulous long table to enjoy meals outside and the sunset. Birds abound in the garden feeding on all the natives and we had little wallabies at night visiting. Great tv reception and comfortable lounges. Kitchen one of the best set ups I have seen and all the dishes etc you could want or need for a large group. We found the laundry helpful too to get our washing done. The house is very modern and so well decorated and full of natural light. The only thing I would change would be better side lights in the master bedroom as they don't give enough light for reading. Close to the stunning Pennington Bay and short drive to Penneshaw where the Fat Beagle cafe has excellent food and coffee. We stopped in to buy wine at Dudley Winery close by but didn't stay for a meal. However seeing the amazing food that was coming out of the kitchen it is a must do for next visit. An excellent property that was immaculate and we hope to return one day.

Peace & Quiet Tuck Away Paradise

A wonderful place to spend your time on Kangaroo Island. The view and setting is so beautiful and peaceful. The home and grounds are kept incredibly well. The home is massive! It can easily accomadate a group of friends or large extended family holidays. It is issolated but that is part of the charm and the friendly Kangaroos and Wallabies will keep you entertained. There are some lovely walks right off the back balcony to the lagoon. Everything is there you need for cooking. Just bring your food and drinks then sit back and enjoy the view.

Gorgeous property

The Lagoon House is a gorgeous house set in a beautiful location. Joan was very helpful giving us some tips around the local area for a special event we were having. The house is fully stocked with more than everything you need, especially in the kitchen. We'd definitely stay at Lagoon House if we return to KI.

Amazing home and the best location on the island

We truly enjoyed our stay at Lagoon House. The house is beautiful and with all the comforts and conveniences needed for our week on Kangaroo island. The kitchen appliances were high-end and in perfect working condition, the beds were comfortable and the home was extremely well appointed. The master bedroom is located away from the other bedrooms, providing extra privacy. The location of the home was magnificent, close to the best family friendly beach on the island (one could be easily fooled into thinking one just landed in a Caribbean or Pacific island) and with easy access to the ferry and the island's attractions. The home was amazingly private, with only wallabies and birds as companions. We had an amazing time and would recommend this home to anyone wishing to visit the island. Communication with the owner was exceptional both before and during our stay.

Fantastic House!

Love the Lagoon House

Stunning location, wildlife literally on the doorstep and the views were superb! House was modern, warm and well equipped, we all loved it, plenty of space for everyone to chill out in. Next time we visit KI we will definitely hire a 4WD, we did get stranded for one day in the house due to flooding on the Island Beach dirt road and even the main road to Kingscote was closed due the river flooding, so dirt road detours. Would definitely recommend staying at the Lagoon House.

Amazing house in a fantastic beach location. Lagoon House is luxuriously appointed with stunning views and kangaroos and goannas walking right up to the deck! The beach is fabulous for young children as it's quite shallow and basically deserted. It's your own piece of paradise. The owners were very accommodating and had everything perfect - you don't need to bring a thing as it's all there and finished to a very high specification. We had planned to eat out on KI during our stay and actually found ourselves running to the shops to buy food so that we could stay in and enjoy the fabulous house and views from the deck! It truly is a fantastic house and one that I will be renting again in the future. Thanks for a wonderful stay - we had the best time ever.

Pure Beauty

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home! The views were simply breathtaking, waking up to nature each day was a dream. We spotted wallabies, birds and kangaroos right from the balcony, which added such a magical touch. It was the perfect setting to create unforgettable memories with our family. Blissful stay at Lagoon House

This house had me at hello. One step onto the deck overlooking the bush and the water and I knew I didn’t want to leave. There’s a lovely walk to the bay and wonderful quietness. The house is very modern and comfortable with everything we need and we were delighted with the great tips.kangaroo island is a dream and I can’t wait to visit again.
