About The Miller Family
Doc Dan and Doc Mary began their lifelong commitment to Amish Country in 1967 when Daniel Miller accepted a call to come back and open a doctor's office in Walnut Creek. Raising four children and being the only physician for miles meant that life wasn't exactly relaxing for the Miller family. But a caring community and a peaceful setting helped. Building their first house "back in the woods" just below the Manor where their son and family still live, the Miller children could camp and play endlessly in the woods and creek. The children grew...and soon a tennis court with basketball hoops was added to keep the high school kids busy. But motorbikes and other fun things aside, CIndy, Bart, Eric and Heidi all remember a childhood both of fun AND work, like mending fences, mowing, hours of music lessons and other daily chores. By 1991, all of the children had moved from home with families of their own. Becoming involved with the Walnut Creek Der Dutchman restaurant and working with the company only deepened Dan and Mary's sense of gratitude and commitment to the area's business community, church, the Amish community and visitors who come to enjoy such a unique area. After selling some of the successful family businesses that were started by Mary's parents, the "house on the hill", now known as Miller Manor, was built in 1999, fulfilling a dream to live a still-busy retirement in the sunshine and breezes, to wake up everyday to a beautiful view, and to host family and friends when they all come home. Daniel and Mary were given an opportunity to relocate to Walnut Hills Retirement Community in 2015, where they continue to reside today. They continue to walk over 3 miles each morning and are active still in family businesses, church and the community. The decision was made by the family to maintain the property as a vacation rental, in order to share the wonderful location and setting with others.

Why The Miller Family chose Amish Country
Have we mentioned the views? They are spectacular. But just as important are the reasons behind the decision to make this property a vacation rental available to guests. There are no better memories in the Miller family than 10 grandchildren gathering together to play in Grandpa and Grandma's house. Sardines, shield dodgeball, winkum, hide and seek, tag, scavenger hunts, Baby Monkey and many other activities involving candy or running or hiding were the norm. Family music concerts, singing hymns, and Christmas dinner in the dining room were holiday traditions. Our family has made countless wonderful memories gathering together at Miller Manor. We hope that others may also experience family and friends in a peaceful setting that fosters growth and joy in relationships.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
The peaceful setting of Miller Manor is remarkable. From the lovely bedrooms and large common areas inside the home where children and adults can relax and enjoy to the firepit in the front courtyard with a never ending view of rolling hills and frequent crimson sunsets, this is where you'll want to spend your time! It will be difficult to pull yourself away, however, there are many activities and ways to be entertained in the neighboring towns of Walnut Creek, Berlin, Sugarcreek and beyond. This is an area full of delights for all ages. Having a "home base" like Miller Manor will be a treat for all looking to get away from routine and the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Great house, big, clean and well appointed!
Absolutely loved the house, we conducted a casual business retreat with about 15 people, plenty of room to eat, sleep and work! The owner stopped in on day one to check and make sure everything was satisfactory and left a contact number if we needed anything! We plan on renting again!
The pictures on here do not do this place justice, it’s even better in person. Great location, private, spacious! Everything we needed for our family trip. We will be back!
Rated Six Stars - GRAND! AWESOME!
What a place - your first impression is as good as your last. Clean, well-maintained everything we expected and a LOT more. At night the Manor lit up and the fire pit provided a welcome close to a lovely day as it overlooked the city. There are many great restaurants and the bakeries are to die for. The quality of the furniture in the many stores is unbelievable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Can only say - Wow, Wow, WOW!!!!!
This is our happy place
My family and I have stayed at the Miller Manor House twice now - first for my cousin's wedding in August, second for a funeral in March. It is the PERFECT place to enjoy true quality time with people you love. The house is gorgeous - perfectly decorated, luxurious, and peaceful, surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquility of the Amish country. It easily doubles as an event center, as we hosted the entire extended family of about 35-40 people for a brunch following the wedding, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The downstairs basement game room is also wonderful for kids to run around and play together. The Amish Cheese Barn is located right across the street, which makes quick grocery runs super convenient!
The only things to note are that everything in the area is closed on Sundays, and the water is very hard there, so make sure to bring bottled water.
My family plans to make our trips to the Miller Manor an annual event!
Thank you and your family for choosing Miller Manor as your vacation home once again. Even though both circumstances were different, we are so glad that the Manor provided a comfortable place for connecting and healing as a family. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you. The Miller Manor does offer filtered water on the left side of the sink in the kitchen for drinking water. Thank you for taking time to share your review on VRBO. Have a blessed and splendid Spring!
Had a great time with family friends! Kids had fun with many games and home theater!
Beautiful evening at a Miller Manor.
We had a beautiful evening ladies Christmas party at Miller Manor. The kitchen offered everything we needed to prepare a meal. Especially loved having a dining room table large enough to accommodate everyone for dinner & a lovely spot for the cookie bar. Everything was immaculately clean & decorated beautifully for Christmas. It was great having a beautiful place to celebrate together that felt like home. Highly recommend Miller Manor for your special events.
