We had a girls trip. Cutest cottage ever. Great location, was awesome for our needs. The screened in porch was so nice to relax in. The coffee shop right next door was darling...the pizza place was awesome too. Great trip!!!5 star all the way
What a darling cottage! We fell in love with the ambiance! The very nice updates did not interfere with the natural beauty of the stone structure. We had EVERYTHING we needed. The beds were comfy, too. It was a convenient location with even a great little cafe next door, serving great coffee, yummy pastries and full breakfast.
Beautiful stone cottage. Super clean. Love the inside as much as the outside. Comfy beds. A bit big for the 2 of us, but I’ve wanted to stay here for several years and it was never available when I was going. Loved it
We had an amazing time at the cottage!! It was so clean and cozy! Also the perfect location to almost all Holmes county must see places. Highly recommend! Hoping to come back!!
This a lovely cottage in an interesting and attractive setting. Clean, well decorated, with comfortable beds and everything you need for cooking meals. Fenced yard and dog door (for smallish dogs). Easy to check in, and host is friendly and responsive. The kind of place that's great for family gatherings and lengthy stays.
We absolutely love this cottage. We have stayed here both times we visited Amish Country. It will be our future getaway. The kitchen is amazing- everything you could ever need and more.
Great location, lovely fireplace, pet friendly, quaint & interesting historical value, nice coffee shop & pizza place close by, very restful environment, perfect resting spot after exploring Amish countryside....would love to return....& Would definitely recommend to others....
Our second time to gather with extended family at the stone cottage for Christmas and now for New years. So festive and cozy for Christmas. Lovely gathering space to relax with family. Nice big dining table to enjoy meals and for the kids to color and play games. Love the fireplace. Plenty of storage to put away suitcases and really feel at home. We love the coffee shop next door and going in to Berlin.
This was the fourth year my family has stayed at the Stone Cottage Inn, and we're already booked for next year. Perfect number of bedrooms and bathrooms for eight of us. The rustic charm is definitely its selling point. We love staying here and hope to continue for years to come.
The space was exactly as advertised! Well, not *exactly*. There were more sleeping options throughout the home (sleeper sofas) and the town was more charming than I could have imagined. The cottage was clean and absolutely beautiful. The stone work, the wood rafters, the little hidden doors with messages inside them… just stunning. The one negative would be that vents in the two bedrooms don’t seem to have much if any movement if air for the a/c so they torn for quite warm. We found that it was much more comfortable on the second night when we left the bedroom doors open so that the temp could balance with the rest of the main floor. I’d recommend bringing a small fan if you’d prefer to keep the bedroom doors closed. One other tip: the cellular in the area is virtually non-existent until you get a few miles from town, which makes the presence of WiFi (which worked fine!) a wonderful help for communicating with the outside world. If you’re traveling in the region and using your phone for GPS, make sure you set the GPS before you leave the premises. One other bonus: there’s a fenced in section of the yard that was perfect for letting our dog get his wiggles out. And if you’re worried: no, the home doesn’t smell like pets! Seriously, if you’re looking in this area and thinking this place is too good to be true, it isn’t!! Book it!
The house was cozy and comfortable. We loved everything about it. We've been taking a Girl's Trip almost every year for over 30 years. We really enjoyed this house.
This property looks exactly like the pictures! It is so quaint and simply adorable! We had 4 people stay for a girls trip, but we could've easily had several more! The cottage is in a great location with a coffee shop right next door, pizza and ice cream just down the street, and a park right behind! We even got to watch a baseball game at the park during our stay! We would definitely stay here again!
Wonderful - even had a blender - very well appointed
Stayed 4 nights in May 2025
About the host
Hosted by Emily Yoder
As life-long residents of Holmes County we are delighted to offer the small town atmosphere to our guests at the Stone Cottage Inn.
Why they chose this property
Of all the towns in our area, Winesburg is our favorite because it maintains the quaint small town feel.
What makes this property unique
The thick stone walls, warm hearth, and historic restoration will take you back in time as you listen to the clip-clop of passing Amish buggies on the road. Guests can enjoy the community park and playground directly behind the cottage. In season, fresh Concord grapes hang in thick bunches from the century-old vine adorning the front of the Cottage.
