About Waldine Skutca
I grew up on this ranch and have spent all my life in the area. I live less than a mile away on the same piece of property.
Why Waldine Skutca chose Fayetteville
Cummins Creek Guesthouse was a past farm house which sits on acreage that has been in the family for generations. The cattle ranch was run and owned by my father, Henry Mrkwa.

Charming country house
This house was everything we needed. It is close to the main highway, 71, and also close to Fayetteville - where we had a party to attend the weekend we stayed. Waldine turned all the air conditioners on for us before we arrived so the house was cool and comfortable when we arrived. She also gave us easy to follow instructions to get to her place on sometimes not so easy to follow country roads. She also left us some cinnamon rolls and fresh strawberries to enjoy for breakfast in the fridge. The house was clean, and we saw tons of cardinals thanks to Ms Waldine's bird feeders all around the yard. Also saw lots of deer and cattle, which my kids enjoyed as well. Absolutely will stay here again!
Thank you so much for the so nice review. Enjoyed having you and looking forward to your next stay. So glad the kids enjoyed the deer cattle and birds.
Just perfect for our needs
Great get away location, Cozy and easy access to the wedding we attended in New Ulm.
Waldine was a sweetheart. She made us homemade cinnamon rolls, and the house was clean & comfy. Nice to get away from the city life and enjoy the birds, deer and wild flowers. Wish we would of had more time to soak it all in. Would recommend renting this home to anyone wanting to just get away from the hustle & bustle.
Thank you so much for the nice review. I hope to have you come again and have more time to stay. Hope you also saw the deer. They usually come through in the morning to feed. Thanks again.
Charming, comfortable and cozy!
After a glorious day of wine tasting at The Whistling Duck winery in Weimar, Cummins Creek guest house was the icing on the cake by offering an affordable and adorable guest house to retreat to for our girls night out weekend! Fully furnished with what ever you might need making you feel just as comfortable as being right at home. Miss Waldine was very accommodating by making sure we had good directions before arrival which helped us find it with no problem. She also added that special touch of leaving us cinnamon rolls and fruit for the morning to enjoy our coffee with. We certainly enjoyed that while taking in the beauty of the many acres sitting out on one of the porches. So serene seeing the peaceful deers and cows grazing while taking in the views. A real cleansing of the soul! Thanks Miss Waldine for helping to make some great memories with “the girls”. It’s was a pleasure meeting you and plan to visit again in the future! Sharon.K
Thank you so much for the nice response. I certainly do appreciate it. Please come and see me again and have a safe trip wherever you all go.
We really enjoyed this quite little get away.
We really enjoyed this quite little get away. Only draw back is, it’s a little difficult to find, with all the county roads in the area. Once we found the house, and figured out the road it’s on leads straight to Fayetteville, all was good after that.
So sorry you had some problems finding it. I tried my best to get you there. The gps always loves to take people down some back roads it does not need too.
Comfy Country Cottage!
Waldine is a wonderful hostess. Her little cottage is so comfortable and charming. We loved the wildlife and roaming cattle. The views are fabulous and the porches are both wonderful locations to enjoy the sunrise and morning coffee. My teenage son loved all the ESPN channels on the new tv too...We will definitely be back!
Thank you so much for the nice review. I loved having you and look forward to your stay again. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us
