We enjoyed our stay for the trip to Mt Buller. An easy 45 minutes drive to the summit. Rob and Helen were very friendly and helpful. My kids loved playing with their lovely dogs and feeding the cute ponies. Highly recommend.
The place is a beautiful place in a peaceful location. Directions and communications with the host were great. The place had everything we needed and was nice and warm with the fire place and a split system and a heater in the bathroom. Comfortable beds with extra blankets.
Then only thing i would say is some instructions for the stove top would have ben helpful (coming from cooking on gas I had to google how to turn the electric stove top on) but worked fine once we got it going.
Thanks so much for a great place for our group for a few days.
Cheers
Great location! Kids loved the ponies on the property and we loved the fresh country air beautiful views and proximity to Mt Buller. Comfortable, charming and warm house. Perfect for families.
I always see accommodation on the internet and assume it isn't always quite what it seems, but not this property - the Chapel was magnificent - so beautiful, warm, cosy, clean, comfortable - everything we needed was catered for - the property was stunning, so beautiful, I could not recommend this property enough!! great for a base to stay and travel, or just utilise all the facilities on the property!! It was extremely stunning
We have just returned from a 4 day stay at Pin Oak Cottage with another family. Gorgeous place with ample sleep space for all. Very neat and clean with comfey beds, plenty of extra blankets too for snuggling on the soft couch. The heater and the woodfire kept us all super cozy and we were lucky enough that lovely Rob had the fire lit and ready for us when we arrived later on a rainy cold night...absolute heaven!! There is a fab outdoor firepit and bar area to sit and enjoy the colourful sunset and sounds of the country, also options for BBQ or firepit cooking. The kids loved the beautiful and super friendly resident pups Maggie and Bella aswell as the cows and 2 miniature ponies who love a pat 😊. So much space for them to run and play and a tyre swing out on an old tree, badminton, croquet set, games, Netflix....they were never bored.
It was such a fab experience and we would love to return again one day, I highly reccommend this charming property. Thankyou so much for having us.
Excellent accommodation so close to Mansfield and Mt Buller.
We loved our stay in the cottage, presents so well, fantastic amenities on the property including bikes, fire pits, fishing rods for the dam etc. Host were great, very welcoming. Highly recommend.
Our extended family of 10 enjoyed a wonderful experience, our hosts & Maggie the dog ensured all members of our group were well cared for
Highly recommended
Stayed here for the weekend and the kids absolutely loved it. Resident cows, dogs and cat all made us feel welcome. Our 7 year old even caught his first fish in the lake on property. The trampoline was fun for our 4 year old and the fire pit was the perfect spot for cooking our marshmallows. Owners Robert and Helen were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. A Great break from city life. We’ll be back!

Like a resort holiday
Such a beautiful property with everything we could need and more. Our three daughters were spoiled for choice on which bed to sleep in when choosing from the 7 beds upstairs and I was absolutely delighted to slip into a lovely warm bed thanks to the electric blanket on the main bed.
The property was amazing and exactly the country break we wanted. A short walk to visit the nearby cows, sheep and horses, the resident dog 'Maggie' was happy to follow us to the dam and entertain our girls by chasing the stick into the water, plenty of wood for us to burn in one of multiple chimnea/fire pits and the girls spent hours jumping on the trampoline.
Rob made us feel more than welcome and had thought of everything, leaving milk, bread, tea, coffee, butter and various toast toppings in the fridge for us. Plenty of blankets and towels and even face washers were supplied - you don't even get that personal touch staying in big name hotels!
Only a 15 minute drive from Mansfield and 20 minutes from the base of Mt Buller, we had a couple of day trips up to see the snow.
What a lovely time we had. We would love to come back in the summertime and spend more time just relaxing on the property.
Thank you Rob for your lovely hospitality - offering to turn on the heater if we let you know when we left the mountain so that it would be warm for us when we returned, leaving more supplies at the door when we ran low on coffee and just having a friendly chat with us all added to our beautiful stay.
I would highly recommend Black Horse Park to anyone looking for a quiet getaway and will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
