Thank you for your comments. Yes, we are aware that you have stayed approximately 12 times in Cabanas. We are also aware that you normally stay with your "friend" who rents in the same neighbourhood, a few doors down from our property, who is also a direct competitor. This is obviously the reason for the silly comments that you have written. The majority of holiday homeowners now offer self-check in, and this is welcomed by mature adults! The photos are genuine and informative, and they cannot be anything otherwise.

Thanks for your comments. I am surprised by the feedback. The villa has plenty of shade as the new awning covers the patio area including the table for dining.  Why would you place a parasol underneath a vast awning? The sun loungers are brand new and as comfortable as any sun loungers placed around a pool. The cleaning lady arrived once a week to do the changeover of linen and towels and not on the third day. She knocked the door and as you were not in, she entered so she could do her job! This is normal practice everywhere. I was with the pool man on each occasion to maintain the pool. You were courteously asked if it was possible to clean the pool (as the pool has to be maintained twice a week), and you agreed. You also made him and myself very uncomfortable with an unusual barrage of nosy questions about his and my personal life. There weren't any questions about the villa, the pool or the area which would have been gladly provided. This Portuguese villa is described as an authentically rustic, true to its description and photos. Why would you write a compromising review and try to compare it to a 5-star hotel? Please note that the actual clients that left the villa the day you arrived, have a completely different viewpoint, accurately compared the villa to its description and loved it, leaving a 5-star review!

Photos tell the truth.  The villa is described from the photos shown in our advertisement.  The villa is situated in the beautiful Ria Formosa Nature Reserve within a sought after, quiet, residential area in Cabanas.  I would suggest that you please refer to our advertisement and google maps to remind yourself what you booked: a pretty rustic villa with private swimming pool in a lovely area.  Most houses do convert their garages to provide extra rooms.  The photos show a professional conversion, creating a lovely second bedroom.  Again, please look at the photos! I hope that the people who read your review can see past your untrue comments and read the other genuine reviews from clients who have stayed at our villa, many of whom return year after year.  

Thank you for your comments. The man that came to change the light bulb arrived at the villa within 30 minutes of it being reported, he also returned immediately with a brand new fan, even though the villa was equipped with 4 other new fans. I do not understand why you would comment otherwise.

Thank you for your comments. As our villa is situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve we do have some wildlife. This is one of the major attractions of the area, as you now know, you will often see flamingos and storks flying over the villa as well as lovely coloured native butterflies in the garden and on the rare occasion the odd small field mouse, (which I believe your children would have seen) and bunny rabbits that may stray near the garden. This is normal in a natural and protected wildlife beauty spot with no need for concern. We were not to know the shower was taking a little longer to drain as you did not inform us. We have now been made aware of this by another guest that also did not inform us, who however also chose to write this in their review rather than make us aware of the issue so that we could resolve it. Please be assured that this issue has now been resolved, it was a very easy fix, which would have been carried out immediately had you informed us during your stay. As owners, we take great pride in providing an attractive holiday home and client satisfaction is key to how we operate.

Unfortunately, some people think it’s a good bit of sport to be nasty on the internet. It’s almost like everyone wants to be AA Gill and they think that being unpleasant gets them read. I do not understand that if you were having slight drainage problems in the bath, why you did not mention this to me when I called to the villa mid way through your stay to see if everything was OK. You told me that everything was great, that you loved the villa and you were having a lovely time.
