Lancaster Waterfront Retreat

We invite you to relax with the whole family at our beautiful waterfront property in Lancaster, Ontario. Spacious rolling green lawn with mature shade trees straight to the waters edge. Ample space for outdoor relaxation, family games, bbq , trampoline , fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Our cottage offers 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an open plan kitchen dining area with views of the water. Two lounges offer the opportunity for relaxation or entertainment. A lively game of Pool or foosball means there is plenty of fun for the whole family, no matter the weather. We provide a canoe and 2 x 2 person kayaks as well as life jackets. We provide firewood for the firepit but do not provide towels.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We had such a great time here ! The large, clean property is lovely, equipped with everything you could possibly need, and more ! When it was time to chill, the downstairs was perfect for the teenagers. The main floor is so spacious, with plenty of amenities. The outdoor area is wonderful, especially the fire pit down by the water, and the kayaks. We can’t wait to go back !

This is a great place for a family vacation. Excellent property. Huge waterfront yard. The property owners are amazing. They answered all questions quickly and were easily accessible. Lots to do

A wonderful property for a family vacation. It was exactly as advertised, lots of room for all of us. We were lucky to have perfect weather, but still enjoyed the pool table, darts and footzball table. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The trampoline was a real hit with all three granchildren, ages 1 to 8. A big thank you to the hosts who were lovely.

Very nice place.

Owner met us at the house on arrival. Showed us the river front and took us through the house answering any questions we had. Everything was nice and clean. Had a wonderful time at our family reunion and really enjoyed the stay at this house. Would definitely stay at this place again when in the Lancaster area.

Fantastic experience !

Previous reviews were spot on! Colin and Elizabeth are the nicest people and our stay was fantastic…only problem was it was too short. Will definitely book again but for longer! My kids and I created fabulous new memories.

We had a fantastic stay! The house is wonderful—spacious, well-maintained, and with a huge backyard. Our group of 8 adults and 1 child had plenty of space to relax and spend time together, both in the comfortable living room and the basement entertainment area. The kitchen is well-equipped, though seasoning options are minimal, so be sure to bring your own. There was comfortable sleeping space for everyone, and the bathrooms were large and clean. Colin was an incredible host—always responsive to our inquiries and very accommodating. He even offered us a later check-out time, which we appreciated, though we didn’t take it as it was raining on our departure day. Highly recommended!

Family wedding

The property is big. It’s a little further from South Lancaster than I thought but it was perfect for the number of adults we were. It’s very spacious. Having to bring our own towels was a little inconvenient. We would rent it again.

LOVELY

Great big home with lots of areas to gather. Fun for young and old. We had a rain day and the downstairs with the pool table and darts for the adults and train table for the kids was fantastic. Perfection. Elizabeth , the owner is so nice!

Friend reunion

We had an outstanding time at Colin’s cottage. We were 4 couples getting together for a good time after 4 years. It was a great property as it had enough space, bedrooms, and a big enough dining room table to accommodate our group. The weather was great in October so our group enjoyed every day going on the lake with the kayaks and the canoe that was at our disposal. And inside, lots to do in the basement if weather was bad or in the evening: pool, foosball, and darts. We can’t recommend enough this great property! And Colin was a great host, having taken the time to walk us through his place and explain what we needed to know to fully enjoy his property. We hope to organize another get together there in the coming years!

Comfortable and Clean Waterfront Retreat

Thank you, Elizabeth and Colin, for a wonderful stay at your Waterfront Retreat. Our family had a wonderful time staying at your property. We were grateful for the cleanliness and lack of clutter - your property was well appointed without being overrun by "stuff." It had everything we needed, and more! We rented this property because of the great outdoor space and access to the River. There was lots of room for our family to spread out, inside and out. The kids LOVED the game room with pool table, foosball and darts, it kept them busy when they were done swimming or running around the large yard. Many thanks for hosting us. We greatly appreciated lightning quick responses to questions prior to the stay, as well as Elizabeth's personalized welcome upon our arrival.

Well-appointed for a large family, well located, and immaculate!

We had a wonderful family reunion in this beautiful, roomy cottage! The weather kept us inside for the first day, but everyone from children to grandparents enjoyed themselves. Several large living areas allowed people to spread out and enjoy games of pool, foosball, and board games, while others played with the train table, watched large screen TVs and scenic views of the St Lawrence River. We went on several boating excursions in the kayaks that came with the property and saw a wide variety of birds and wildlife. We cooked several meals in the well-equipped kitchen and ordered affordable take out from local restaurants. The property was well appointed, well located, comfortable, and immaculate. The hosts were welcoming and responsive to our questions. We highly recommend this property and hope to return soon!

Great family getaway

This a beautiful location right on the St Lawrence River. Not too busy, but fun to watch the boat traffic on the seaway. We saw a few neighbours on the River and waved greetings. The house is immaculate. There is a large games room in the basement, with a pool table, foosball table and a train table for smaller folks. It’s quite large, 4 bedrooms, with double beds/queen bed and a bunk bed in the basement, and 2 rooms with large couches and TVs. There is a great fire pit. Right near the water. There are 2 double kayaks and 2 single kayaks, as well as a canoe, and easy to get into the water. Looks like It’s a good fishing area, as we saw lots of people fishing in the small bay. The owner is lovely and is easy to communicate with. Overall great place and we had a great time.

Excellent vacation

I can’t express how happy and enjoyable this vacation was because of Colin and Elizabeth. They are great people. They make you feel very welcome and their house is gorgeous with a beautiful water front setting. They provide everything from canoes, kayaks, pool table, tv’s , wifi and more. I definitely recommend staying there you won’t be disappointed. We will be back for sure!

Elizabeth and I met overseas while working for an airline and quickly became friends . A very friendly girl from South Africa . I’m just a simple east going Canadian . We both enjoy the outdoors and meeting people , everybody has a story , so hosting a lakefront property is great sideline for us .

Why they chose this property

We wanted waterfront as well as a quiet area but not too far from activities and shopping . Lancaster region provides a nice balance of nature and easy access to essentials .

What makes this property unique

With 1.8 acres on the water it provides ample outdoor space . The house is relatively large and is ideal for several families or family get togethers or just enjoy time to relax . We provide indoor entertainment with a large chess table , slate pool table , darts , foosball and various board games . Outdoor includes a canoe , 4 kayaks , 12 foot trampoline , fire pit , 2 Tarzan ropes , and various outdoor games . Rain or shine plenty of activities to entertain
