Wheels at Wanaka.

We were here for 3 days It is very Quiet here. Great kitchen with everything to cook with if you want to. Great shower & bed is very comfortable. Nice and warm with the heatpump. Not that fair out of Wanaka. Pub just around the corner. It does meals. # Dislike very creaky floors, It has Sky TV but limited channels. Overall pretty good.

Beautiful location, some housekeeping issues

Location was amazing. The lake view is stunning. Good space and fully stocked kitchen. Loved the BBQ. We were disappointed the kayaks pictured were not actually available to use. Consumables such as soap and toilet paper were in short supply. Linens left on the line when we arrived so we dried and put away for the host. Photos of listing could be updated.

Overall we had a comfortable stay and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. The location on the lake was beautiful.

Arrived to find an empty cigarette packet at the front door, unwashed breakfast dishes in the dishwasher, dried and passed use by date of opened meat left by previous guests. Messaged owner, no acknowledgement of message. Generally the place needs decluttering and the rubbish wheelie bins outside could be emptied before they are overfull and smelly

Fabulous location: view, solitude, local shop a delight. Lighting, heating facilities, comfort all good. Kitchen utensils somewhat over abundant, cluttered.

Lake Hawea

This property, in anamazing location, is NOT a 2 bedroom. 1x bedroom, pullout sofa, cabin down the back with bed near the ceiling accessed by ladder steps. Beautifully appointed kitchen. Did I mention amazing views? The only reason we stayed.

Great get away

Great little getaway cottage that allows for peace and quiet but not being far away for Wanaka. The fact that the lake is literally within arms throw is amazing and that is not even to mention the views when the sun starts to rise and peak over the mountains

10-Star View

We enjoyed this cozy cottage with hot tub and 10-star view. We loved watching the mountains, clouds, and lake from sunrise to sunset. We even had cute bunnies hopping across the lawn on Easter. And Closeburn is near to great hiking, especially the Mount Crichton Loop track. We just loved it.

Overall, a good place to stay

We stayed in the Lakefront Fantail house for four days in December. If I based my review on the first hour, it probably wouldn’t be favorable as there hadn’t been any housekeeping since the previous occupants. However, after a couple of calls to the owner and VRBO, things were straightened out (miscommunication with house keeper). We made up the bed ourselves with fresh sheets and towels for the bathroom. After that, we loved the place! The location is quiet with nice walks along the beach. It has a nice view of Lake Hawea, and is a short drive from Wanaka and wineries. If you like to cook, the kitchen is fantastic. All Le Cruset cookware, Smeg knives (best knives I’ve ever used in a rental), top notch appliances. Having a washer and dryer (when clothesline not fast enough) was also a plus. We would definitely come back!

When we arrived that day, it was raining. The other room, which was supposed to be indoor, turned out to be in a bad condition. The sofa bed there was broken and the bedding was not clean. There were also numerous insects inside the standalone house. In the main living room, the dishwasher was filled with a pile of unwashed dishes, and the dryer had some damp clothes inside. Overall, the place gave an unpleasant and unhygienic impression.

Peaceful Lake Hawea

Lovely time in Fantail cabin was bigger than we thought does have a view or the lake but it is affected by by vegetation fine for us though. Cabin had everything we needed and there is a shop within walking distance, extra small sleepout if you need it in separate building. This is a well appointed and spacious property with stunning lake views and is a good location to stay! However I confirmed by text my arrival the day before and was given key-code instructions and a confirmation. When I arrived the property had not been cleaned from the previous stay. I thought i resolved the situation by speaking to the property owner who offered to remove the $90 cleaning fee, we stripped the sheets and made the beds. I received a $60 refund not the $90 offered by the owner in the voice conversation. If they sort out the cleaning issues it will be a great property to use.

Everything you need

This property had everything you need for a stay away from home. We loved the quiet location but still not too far from restaurants and sites we wanted to visit. The house could benefit from a deeper clean and some more up to date photos in the listing.

An honest listing.

A cute cottage which was so well resourced. The listing is honest. I've never rented a home that had absolutely everything we needed in terms of cleaning products, rubbish bags, plentiful supply of linen etc. A great stay. A slightly tricky lake access than the photos allude to. Ie, a car ride in order to access the lake to use the kayaks.
