We loved the gardens and the countryside location which was fantastic for three generations and two dogs! House itself beautiful and really well equipped for a comfortable stay no matter what the weather. We had a wonderful time so thank you!

Truly delightful countryside escape

The photos don't do this place justice. It's just lovely. A huge old family holiday house that has been cared for and loved for many years. It's wonderfully atmospheric and very well appointed. You really couldn't want for anything. Everything is super clean too. Perhaps the best thing though is the outside space. Along with a lovely pool, terrace, table tennis and brand new BBQ there's a private wood (yes a wood!). We loved walking through the trees and exploring with the kids. At night the skies are dark and the stars sparkle above. You can hear owls calling to each other through the trees. So peaceful. It's like another world. A few other thoughts. There's antique furniture and rugs so perhaps not ideal for toddlers. I'd have prefered duvets on the beds rather than sheets and blankets. The beds were quite comby though. Bathrooms are inevitably a bit dated given the age of the property but everything works and it's all spotlessly clean. There's a suggested cleaning fee on exit. But you're not obliged to pay it. The property is handed over to you so clean and tidy it's easy to keep it that way. All in all a really memorable holiday for all the right reasons and we'd certain go back. The region is also brilliant for families with castles, rivers, prehistoric remains and vast caverns all on the doorstep.

Improving the sanitary facilities is not easy due to the architecture with exposed beams of this typical house of perigord. We hope to see you again in our region.

Très bel environnement, très calme, le jardin est superbe, ombragé à certains endroits, la piscine absolument divine. La maison (cuisine, literie, ventilateur, etc) et les extérieurs sont parfaitement équipés (parasol, table de jardin, transat), tout est fait pour que les hôtes passent d'excellentes vacances. Je recommande vivement si vous voulez un lieu calme et enchanteur.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour aux Coquets. Nous recherchions avant tout un endroit très calme, avec une belle piscine et beaucoup d’espace extérieur, et la propriété a pleinement répondu à nos attentes.Le cadre est vraiment superbe : une grande propriété entourée de verdure, un calme absolu, de très beaux espaces extérieurs et surtout une magnifique piscine, grande et très agréable pour profiter pleinement des vacances. La terrasse donnant sur la piscine est également un vrai plus.La maison a beaucoup de charme et correspond bien aux photos et à la description. L’intérieur est plutôt traditionnel, dans l’esprit d’une maison de campagne, et un peu daté par endroits, mais nous le savions au moment de réserver et cela correspondait tout à fait à nos attentes.Le seul point qui mériterait selon nous une amélioration concerne les salles de bains : la salle de bains principale est assez ancienne et la seconde douche, aménagée dans un espace très réduit, est assez sommaire. La propriétaire nous a toutefois indiqué qu’un projet de rénovation était prévu. Au final, nous avons été très heureux de notre choix et avons passé une excellente semaine dans un environnement exceptionnellement calme et agréable. Une très belle adresse pour ceux qui recherchent espace, tranquillité, nature et une grande piscine privée.

This is a large farmhouse set in the countryside. The house is very well equipped, with a lovely pool and patio areas. The beds were comfortable and there were several places to sit and relax. The weather was extremely hot, fans were provided, the pool was very popular. Due to the weather there were a couple times power was lost, but we had been shown how to reset the trip switch. Although the instructions noted several routers, we only managed to access one in the lounge. We really enjoyed our stay here. When I booked this house, the description seemed to suggest that everything was included, but we were advised just before we arrived that linens and towels could be rented if required, For a large family or group this would be a perfect place to relax and holiday together.

Séjour exceptionnel. Nous avons passé de magnifiques vacances en famille ici. A very special holiday home!

A rustic, traditional French gite in huge grounds with an amazing pool. Perfect for families who what to get away from it all…with access to lovely French towns and canoe trips down the Dordogne. Warmly greeted by Elisabeth, who is very attentive and helpful.

Super fijne locatie

Een heerlijk huis en perfect als de hond ook mee gaat. In mijlen geen buren te vinden en heerlijke paadjes om avontuur te vinden. Het enige nadeel van de woning is dat er in de slaapkamers geen airco is en het met warme dagen heel lastig slapen is. Wij hadden geluk met het weer dus met een ventilator geslapen. Het zwembad is perfect en ook de tafeltennistafel was een grote hit bij de kids. Hele aardige eigenaar!

Les températures ont été exceptionnellement élevées cette année dans le Sud-Ouest et nous sommes bien conscients de la gêne que cela a pu occasionner. Jusqu'ici les ventilateurs, qui équipent chacune des chambres, et la nature environnante, permettaient de rafraîchir la nuit les chambres du haut. Les épisodes caniculaires étant certainement amenés à se renouveler, nous réfléchirons pour l'an prochain à améliorer l'efficacité de la ventilation dans ces chambres. Nous espèrons que vous avez pu profiter de notre belle région malgré les conditions climatiques."

Une très belle semaine dans un magnifique domaine

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille et avec des amis. Les enfants (2 de 2 ans et 1 de 6 ans) ont beaucoup apprécié. Du matériel pour bébé, des jeux intérieurs et extérieurs sont à disposition. La maison est d'un aspect "maison de famille" avec le charme de meubles anciens, et le confort d'un bien tout équipé. La piscine est très grande et bien sécurisée. Le jardin immense, un calme absolu et la joie d'apercevoir un chevreuil certains soirs. Il faut aimer rouler car le domaine est un peu isolé et il ne faut pas hésiter à faire de la route pour découvrir les merveilles du Périgord. La ville de Montignac assez proche est très agréable.

Le paradis pour une semaine de détente entre amis

Si la région ne regorgeait pas de beaux endroits à voir, nous n'aurions pas bougé de la propriété pendant tout notre séjour tellement nous nous y sommes bien sentis. Une belle maison de famille ancienne, avec tous les équipements rêvés pour les adultes comme pour les enfants (piscine, table de ping pong, barbecue, lego etc) au milieu d'un parc arboré et très bien entretenu. Le rêve ! Tout est fait pour que les locataires se sentent chez eux ! Adeptes des bruits de voisinage et allergiques aux maisons anciennes s'abstenir :-)

Nous étions 7 adultes et 2 enfants lors de notre séjour. La maison est spacieuse, très agréable à vivre: nous n'avons pas souffert de la chaleur malgré la canicule. La piscine est extra: très spacieuse. Le parc boisé magnifique! Bonne communication avec Élisabeth: avant, pendant et à notre sortie. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir!

Lovely rural property with huge outdoor space for playing and exploring.

The owner met us on arrival and also dealt very quickly with a minor problem we had (using the washing machine). We had children ranging from 2-8 years old who all enjoyed the (very secure) pool and swings and having such large grounds for cycling, cricket etc. There are also toys and games at the house. The house has lovely traditional decour and is very well equipped with modern conveniences as well. The large terrace area was great for sun or shade during the day and a great size for eating together outdoors.

superbe !

nous étions 6adultes et 4enfants et avons passé une merveilleuse semaine dans cette belle maison perigourdine rénovée avec gout et très confortable .Avec ses deux terrasses coté piscine qui invitent à la détente et ou il fait bon prendre ses repas , et le magnifique parc arboré qui entoure la propriété ( et peut-être aurez vous , comme nous la chance d'y voir deux biches s'y promener ),vous avez les conditions idéales pour des vacances reposantes à proximité des grands sites à visiter .les enfants ont apprécié les jeux mis à dispositions : table de ping pong ,playmobils ,livres .... et surtout la piscine ,très bien sécurisée . madame Vimard ,la propriétaire nous a accueillis avec chaleur et gentillesse et a été de bon conseil pour notre séjour ( beaucoup de documentation à disposition ) location à recommander sans hésitation

Peaceful family hideaway with large pool

We approached Les Coquets through extensive parkland to find the traditional farmhouse nestled among well maintained gardens' and everyone's first impression was "is this all ours?" The inside of the property has ample rooms for three families to stay comfortably, a range of bed configurations, hidden corners to find peace and quiet, two dining areas, two large lounges and a traditional farmhouse kitchen. Francoise was away for our arrival but we were greeted by the wonderful housekeeper Paulette, and an English speaking neighbour on hand to answer any questions. We had plenty of young children in our group so Francoise suggested we "open any cupboard", uncovering an assortment of books, ball games, kids toys, board games, and pool equipment. Nearby Thenon had all we needed for shopping, and the beautiful Vezere valley from Montingnac to Le Bugue kept the family entertained in the mornings leaving the afternoons free to enjoy the large pool and gardens. Francoise dropped by during our 2nd week and invited us to explore the orchard, three delicious fruit tarts & puddings were the outcome. Les Coquets is a fantastic and peaceful family hideaway but close enough to the Vezere valley when you feel like exploring. Thankyou Francoise

Un superbe Séjour

Nous étions 2 familles avec 3 enfants chacun, de 3 à 12 ans, soit 10 personnes au total. La maison est spacieuse, très agréable à vivre, avec une décoration de qualité. Les espaces sont suffisamment séparés pour qu'à deux familles on n'ait pas le sentiment de se marcher dessus. Posée au milieu d'un très grand parc, bien entretenu, avec de grands arbres, entourée par un bois, la maison a un charme fou. La piscine est très bien sécurisée, des jeux sont à disposition pour les enfants, c'est un comme si on venait dans sa maison de famille. En bref, je recommande vivement, avec en plus la proximité de grands sites du Périgord, l'accrobranche, etc... il y en a pour toute la famille.
