Great house in pretty village

Well appointed house in the centre of a beautiful village next to the church, close to the river and with views of the mountains This is a good location for access to mountain sports and, in the other direction, the mediterranean beaches The house is comfortable and well furnished

rustic charm

Care has been taken to furnish the property with authentic vintage french style. It is spacious and cool inside with an enchanting sun patio on the top floor accessed by french windows from the upper bedroom.

Beautiful Area

This was our first trip to France and we thoroughly enjoyed the area. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was the perfect base for extensive exploration of an area full of interesting outings. We need another holiday as two weeks was not long enough to fit it all in! We explored in all directions, covering mountain tops, beaches, caves and plenty in-between. The owner, Tim, was very helpful and we loved his welcome/info sheet which was full of useful info and a lovely sense of humour. We'd definitely love to visit again. Thank you, Tim.

Another Fabulous Holiday!

This was our 5th stay in this lovely house and leaving just gets more difficult each time! The house is clean, well equipped and the owners couldn't be more helpful! The location is perfect for all activities - only 30 minutes from the beach, yet in the mountains with incredible views. There is so much to do including castles, monasteries, breathtaking walks, city visits, local markets, beautiful seaside towns - Spain is only about 40 mins away! Or you can just spend time relaxing on the terrace with a beer! Shops only 10mins away for fresh supplies! The village is idyllic and the locals very friendly. Having just got back we can't wait to return!

Good

House with character in a small village. Everything was good, only: the stairs without railing is difficult, with luggage and with food and drinks for the terrace. Wifi worked after sending a mail to the owner. Suddenly it worked, but a small reply should be more friendly!

This is the second time that we have been to stay in this house in Finestret and once again it was perfect for us. The house is ideal - located right in the centre of the village. The bedrooms are comfortable, the house is very very well equipped with plenty of space for a family of 4, and the sun terrace is an oasis of calm - we spent a lot of time out there! April is a great time to visit the area (although, having been at pretty much every time of year, most of the year is a great time to visit!). We went skiing on Easter Sunday, which was the last day of the season, but there was just about enough snow to ski and the weather was fantastic! The nearest ski resort is probably about an hour's drive up the mountains. We also had a couple of days at the beach - 1 day at Collioure which is just beautiful, and one at Argeles plage which is a lovely big, clean sandy beach - perfect for the kids. There's masses to do in the area - lots of lovely walks, lots of cold water swimming if that appeals, markets and we went to the thermal baths at St Thomas les Bains as well. I thoroughly recommend staying here - Tim is a great host, really efficient, providing very comprehensive info on the house and the area.

Gracias Tim y Sarah

Charming and Spacious

Surprisingly spacious maison ancienne. We had a lovely time in this charming old house. Well equipped with a nice roof terrace which we used constantly. The upstairs bedroom is large but got quite warm by nighttime. Fine by me but other half found the smaller bedroom at the bottom cooler when he could cope no more! Finestret is a good location and we reached the sea, the mountains etc with ease along with a good SuperU within 10 mins for all provisions. It’s the sort of house that makes you ‘dare to dream’ about having your own little bolt hole in France.
